This is a copper kettle with a wrought Iron handle made in Germany it has on the bottom as seen in pic 3. The 3 footed are rusty. It is dirty on the inside as shown in pic 5. It is shiny but tarnished. But needs some cleaning. It is in used good condition and collectible. It measures 5 in base, 5 in opening at the top. I cleaned it up a little for the pictures but needs to be polished. It has a lovely patina and a twisted rope handle. The handle does not stand up by itself so I have taken the first two pictures on a plate rack(not included) There are no repairs or cracks or holes. There are a couple of dents. It may have been used as a saucepan. Ladle or pot. For the three years our family lived in Paris. France in the very early 1960's. We usually went out for a drive outside the city on Sunday afternoons. My parents' purpose was not to go shopping. But to get their children out into the lovely countryside once a week. On one occasion. However, we stopped in a small town where there was an interesting little antique store. My parents saw a set of ten copper pieces. Some of which matched and some of which did not. And were told by the shopkeeper that everything was 19th Century French in origin- not much more than that. My parents made the poor shopkeeper ... moretake them all out back and fill them all up with water just to make 100% sure that none of them leaked, and then they bought them all. The items have never been used for cooking since. They have been hung on a wall in various places we have lived, with only a little polish once a year. Or so. This piece is one of those interesting pots. Most of which my parents have decided to place on the market at this time. This beautiful piece is in very good condition. Though it would require retinning before it could actually be used for cooking. The wood handle is very slightly loose where it is joined to the copper portion of the handle by two copper round-headed nails. A triangular plate with three rounded projections is attached to the pot by three copper rivets. And the handle is soldered to this with brass. The underside of the copper portion of the handle shows a brass soldered seam. There is a little green oxidation on the inside of the pot. Please note: This pot does not stand flat on its own and I am certain it never did. There is no evidence of scorching on the wood handle. So 1 quart with room for boiling water/pouring. Tapered-form copper kettle with gently domed lid still fully water tight: lid is loose, part of hinge is missing but the pot is completely functional and can be displayed without repairing the hinge. Soldering evident in areas is possibly old repairs, possibly original fabrication. Finial has traces of what appears to be black paint: handle was likely painted black as well. These vintage coffee pots would make a charming Edition to one's rustic garden or living room decor. The containers have the natural patina that only comes from many years of aging. They would however shin up nicely if one chooses to do so. The measurements are 11" tall. 6.5" across the bottom, 4.5"across opening at the top, with a 8 inch handle. The weight approximately 2.5 pounds each The seems at the bottom are separated and bulging from being left out doors in winter time. Pots do not hold water. This is not necessarily a deficit if used for live plants as they will only retain a small amount of water in the very bottom of the pot. I think a cactus would look wonderful in each one. Antique copper teapot. Wooden handle and finial, inside is a large strainer, it has engraved initials, looks like KDP but i'm not sure. The pot measures 8" tall to top of handle, 9 1/2" across to tip of spout, and 3" across the base. It has some ripple areas and one crease dent, it appears to be lacquered to prevent tarnishing. Offered for Auction: 3 Piece Copper Tea Set In the Art Deco Style with a nod to Arts& Crafts workmanship. The coffee pot is stamped with the maker's mark on the bottom. However it's illegible(it looks like two deer in front of a hearth but I cannot tell if I'm just seeing things) The coffee pot has an offset wooden handle and a diamond shaped spout on a tapered fluted body and a wooden finial on the lid. The covered sugar has the same tapered fluted body with a brass finial on the lid and the creamer is fluted and has an applied handle. The lids fit snugly. The interiors of each piece are tinned, however the finish has worn so these are being sold for decorative purposes only(copper toxicity is a concern in un-coated copper holloware) The seams are so precise that it's difficult to know if the set was hand crafted or manufactured ... morein a factory. Condition: Fair given their age and use. The wooden handle on the coffee pot is loose as the wood has shrunk over the years and holes have enlarged one brad is missing and as small brass screw has been substituted. There are small dents and dings and surface scratches and discoloration on all three pieces. The tinned interiors are worn and the copper is exposed and there are few dark spots in the coffee pot. There are finger prints on the surface. The coffee pot measures overall 7 5/8" H x 4 3/4" W(with spout) x about 6 1/2" with the handle. The opening is 2 3/16" in diameter and the bottom is 4 1/4" in diameter. The covered sugar is overall 2 7/8" H x 3 3/8" in diameter at the bottom and the opening is 2 1/4" in diameter. This is an antique multipurpose copper pot that has brass fittings and base. This piece also has 2 porcelain handles on it. The fittings on the side are lion heads. This is a very large piece that measures 12" tall by 14" diameter wide. There is some heavy patina on the inside and some dents and scratches on the outside. The overall age is unknown. Antique Solid Copper Pitcher With Handle Wonderful Old Patina Decor
This is a fabulous looking old solid copper pitcher. It has a handle and smooth urn design with two ribbons at center and neck and a rolled edge at the top. It stands over 14 inches tall and is more than 7 inches in diameter at the widest part. There are some dents in the bottom and a place just below the neck that has a small puncture that appears someone tried to solder closed. It is in nice vintage condition and would add to any décor.
