19th Century Hollow Cast Gilt Bronze Corpus of Jesus Christ. My price is based on the Craftsmanship involved in the making of a 19th Century Beautiful Corpus of Jesus Christ. It is definitely of Museum Quality. This stunning Corpus measures approximately 29 cm from head top to toes. And 24.5 cm from hand to hand. The measurement from the furthest end of his left hand to his furthest toe is approximately 38 cm. The Corpus is hollow bronze cast, and is gilt. The Corpus and the gilding is in almost perfect or mint condition. No refunds so serious buyers only. Pr Partial Nude Lady French Bronze Figures 19th Century 14" Tall & 11 Lbs Each
Here we have a pair of fabulous 19th Century French bronze figures. Both figures are of a partial nude motif. They are large and very heavy. Each figure stands aprox 14 inches tall. One figure has a weight of over 11 pounds and the other just under 11 pounds. There is a copy of an appraisal that comes with these figures. The appraisal was from 1972 and can be viewed in last picture. Back then they were appraised for $350. 42 years ago. For being about 140 years old they are in good antique condition. We are pleased to offer this wonderful. Old, antique pair of candlesticks. This petite pair dates to the 19th century. They are a beautiful representation of French ormolu. They are Rococo in style and feature very detailed and ornate design. The pair are gilt bronze which has a nice thickness. They have beautiful bases with"plant stem" center columns. The stems lead to a large opened bloom that rests under the three, ascending height candle holders. The candle holders have very detailed leaves and vines that seem to wrap around them. There are two large flowers on the top sections; one faces front, the other faces the back. The candle wax drip cups are also in the form of multi petaled flowers. The pair is very ornate and extremely detailed. They are quite old and they take a smaller circumference taper candle as traditional tapers ... moreare too large to fit into the cups. The pair have screw thread that holds the cups in place and that runs down the center column. The pair are in very good condition for their age. Offered- A mid 19th century Bronze/ Brass Ottoman Cartridge/ Ammunition Case. The case measures 3 3/4 inches across the top- it is 4 1/2 inches from top to bottom- and is 3/4 inches wide. The case is beautifully incised with a central figure- and bordered on all 4 corners with very stylized Birds(Dragons? and Lions. There is very intricate incising around the border and across the top of the case. The Lid opens and closes on a very sturdy hinge. The back of the case is plain- with a riveted belt of sash loop. This is a beautifully preserved piece- i have not polished it is quite clean with traces of old polish. I would date this piece around 1850/1875. The Art of Lost Wax. Lost wax casting has been around for thousands of years. Yet few people understand how the process actually works. ... moreAlthough mechanization has facilitated the lost wax process of bronze casting. The procedure is basically the same as that used by the Chinese when they first developed the process in the 2nd millennium BC. The Rubber Mold. First the artist creates an original sculpture out of any number of media. Including stone, wax, clay, wood and pottery. This image is coated with a silicone rubber molding material that makes two rubber mold halves(each rubber mold has a front and a back piece) A fiberglass outer shell is added to the back of each mold so it retains its shape and rigidity during subsequent uses. Alfred Dubucand- 19th Century French Sculpter- Bronze Hunting Dog with puppies. This is a family heirloom with a legend. Supposebly it was a gift from President Theodore Roosevelt to a distant relative. Postmaster Ingles of Westcheter, NY. He was a hunter and an important part of the Republican party. He would have received it somewhere between 1901- 1909. I tried to research the authenticity of the legend, but I found no evidence to support it. There used to be green felt on the bottom. But over the years, it has disintegrated. My father was convinced that the piece contained a secret and broke through the plaster, only to find sawdust. I plugged up the hole with artists clay. Because of its value, I will only ship using UPS. Feel free to ask questions.

Antique 16th Century Italian Cast Bronze Apothecary Mortar Grotesque Heads Faces
This listing is for an antique Sixteenth C. bronze mortar of a form most identified with Northern Italy. It has four round heads in relatively high relief alternating with pillars. The mortar measures 2 3/8" tall. 4" wide across the top, and 3 1/8" across the base. It is quite heavy for its size- weighing 30.6 ounces. It is fairly well cast for its age, with some relatively crude finishing showing some worn-with-age but visible rasp marks below the rim. The edge of the rim shows a few areas of cast flashing that has become rolled under from use. The interior of the bowl has some light pitting and old, shallow, use marring- mostly concentrated nearest the bottom, as well as one dark spot in the side that looks as if something caustic had been on there at some point in time. The rim has a few very minor splits, and one very old ... morehalf-inch crack that is worn smooth at the edges. The under side of the base is worn slightly convex(more common on smaller vessels due to rocking during use) Overall, this is a fine example of a 400-plus year old mortar with good honest age wear, in good condition.
