VINTAGE MARKED BRADLEY HUBBARD BOOKEND CAST IRON DICKENS DOOR STOP BRASS BRONZE
SHIPS WORLDWIDE! Stately and heavy! This piece is made of metal and has the B&H foundry mark(Bradley& Hubbard) on the back. It has the bust of Dickens. Hence the thought it is a bookend. Due to its weight, would make a great doorstop as well since it weighs almost 3 1/2 pounds. The piece is about 5" wide by 6.5" tall and 2.5" deep, being the larger piece made by B&H it is harder to come by. Some of the original felt is still on the bottom. In good used condition with patina and some signs of age and use. The metal looks to be a brass or bronze color with the weight of cast iron. I'm told these were cast iron pieces. CAST IRON BLK AMERICANA DOOR STOP EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION ALL ORIGINAL
This is a vintage all original Black Americana"Mammy" cast iron door stop in exceptional original condition. While there is no paper tag it is most likely made by Hubley. She has all the features that Hubley had in their work. This would make it circa late 1920's or early 1930's. There are no breaks or damage that I can find. The paint is all original and never has been touched up. The seams are perfectly in tact and very tight. The screw holding the two pieces together has never been unscrewed. She stands the 8 3/4" tall and 5 1/4" wide as do all Hubleys' this size. She has on a red dress with the white apron. On her head is a full blue scarf with white poka dots. Up for bid is this beautiful vintage nude child kneeling by pond doorstop. The child is sitting on his or hers knees besides a pond th at is shaped like a li lly pad. The stop is about 7 1/4" tall from the table to the top o f the childs head. The pond is about about 6 1/2" wide and about 4 1/4" from front to back. The doorstop weighs 4lbs 10 oz.The paint has chipped and wo r n off in places all around the door stop. There is a spot(chip) on the front left side lip of the lilly where it looks like it has been repaired in the past(pic) Other than that spot. The s top is in good shape and is solid. Title: Bonnie Scotland. Greenlees Glasgow, Cast Iron Door Stop Description: 12 inches tall. 5 inches wide at the base. Marked Bonnie Scotland on the front and Greenlees Glasgow on the back. Not sure if this is a door stop or bookend or just a decorative piece. Condition: Still has some of the original coloring but it has faded. Some tiny surface chips and surface wear. The parts of the back and part of the base looks a bit rusty Otherwise, it is tight and solid with general wear from age, use and handling. I have for sale a genuine antique Dachshund boot scraper. It is made of heavy cast iron—as one piece. Not two pieces held together by a screw. The dimensions are: 16" long. 6 1/4" wide, and 6" tall. The blade on the back is 8" long. All the features including the face. Muscles, and the tail, are well defined/carved. The patina and the old flaking paint suggests that it's a very old piece. This is a hard to find item. That is in very good vintage condition structurally. Thanks for looking!
