This listing is for a very fine circa 1890’s French Art Nouveau bronze bust of a young beauty with a hat. The piece measures 14 inches or 35.5 cm high. And is 7 inches or 18 cm at its widest. The bronze features a ¾ bust of a beautiful young woman wearing a large brimmed hat. She wears her hair loose and flowing under her hat. She has excellent rendering in her smiling face and hair. Also the details in ... moreher clothes is quite fine. The bronze has a milk chocolate brown patina or color, which is all original to the piece. It is signed on the back“G. VAN DER STRAETEN” this for Georges Van Der Straeten(1856-1928) who was Belgian in descent but lived and worked in Paris for much of his life. He began exhibiting at the Salon in 1885 and produced many portraits and some fanciful busts. There is also a foundry mark on the back for the Societe des Bronzes of Paris. This lovely Heintz Art Metal vase has the cylindrical form with rolled top or flange. It has a rather intricate Art Nouveau floral. Possibly iris, design that reminds us of some of the Tiffany windows. Otto Heintz patented his technique for applying sterling silver to his bronze pieces without any solder which is the 1912 patent date seen on much of his work. This vase measures a little more than 8 inches tall and it has a lovely mottled patina that will only get better with time. For Auction is a very nice set of candlesticks made by Tiffany Studios. New York. These are known as Bronze Poppy Stem candlesticks. The Candlesticks are a nice size as each stands approximately 9 7/8" tall and the round foot has a diameter of 4 7/8" This is an elegant pair of Tiffany Studios bronze candlesticks. They are in the form of poppy stems. Descending into a fluted circular widespread foot. The stem terminates with six foliate branches holding a poppy flower pod. The bronze metal is Acid Etched with very large flakes. They have nice light brown naturally aged patina that is pretty uniform throughout both candlesticks. They both have removable bobeches. These are original bobeches and not reproductions as is evident with the Acid Etched metal flakes and the style of the flanges on the bottom of them. The Candlesticks are ... moreconsidered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no dents. Or dings to the metal. They both show minor wear consistent with age and handling. The Candlesticks are both signed with the impressed"Tiffany Stvdios New York" mark along with the pattern number"1210" which is impressed just underneath this. The use of the letter"v" in Studios denotes this pair as an early pair of candlesticks by LCT Tiffany Favrile. There is also the numbers 1136 lightly scratched below the pattern number on one of the candlesticks. I believe this was more than likely a special order number and Tiffany's way of tracking them. This is a quality set of Tiffany Bronze Candlesticks. These are an excellent example in both Patina and Acid Etching. This is one of the harder to find of the bronze Candlesticks Styles. I'm quite sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. Since these have the letter"v" in Studio I would say these candlesticks were early made circa 1902-1905. BARBEDIENNE PARIS French ART NOUVEAU Gilt Bronze Urn
Offered is a fine gilt bronze Art Nouveau urn by the Barbedienne Foundry in Paris. It is an art nouveau interpretation of a classical form. With finely modeled, pierced loop handles that continue down the sides ending in raised anthemion motifs. Realistic, high bas relief sculptures of blackberries adorn the front and back of the body. It is signed just under the rim, finely hand engraved, F. Barbedienne Paris. You can see from the photos how it retains most of its original doré bronze finish. It will clean up beautifully, I have not even washed it, but I am leaving it in estate found condition as everyone likes their own level of cleaning on gilt items like this. At some time this took a header and dented the rim on one side, and probably at the same time knocked off part of one of the berries. Nice original warm patina on this authentic period piece. Excellent craftsmanship in the joining of the base to the stem. Great detail in the incised lines in the horn/trumpet shape of the vase. Very solid and heavy. There is a very small flaw in the base. Noted in one of the photos with the pencil pointing to it. Look closely at the photos for more details and descriptions. Will make a nice addition to your collection. No makers mark. Came from a couple's estate who were very fine. Selective collectors with impeccable taste. Antique. Signed, bronze and gold/gilt mixed metal Art Nouveau dish with relief sculpted head of an Native American Indian. Made France 19th century. Measures 4 1/2 X 4 inches at longest and widest points. Tray is rectangular. Made of bronze in a rich brown with reds and oranges. Outside is entirely covered in gold leaf. Sides curve up and the top and outside is richly gilded. Over half the tray is covered by a gilded relief sculpted American Indian(Native American) head, seen in profile. The modelling is outstanding with high cheekbones, a strong, curved nose and downward looking eyes. He wears fabulous jewelry, including hooped earrings and disks hung from his headdress. Up for sale is a nice Antique Bronze Horse I bought from an antiques dealer. It is in great condition. Has some lovely spots of green patina coming through on some of the detailwork making it stand out beautifully, will grow even more beautiful with age. Was made about a hundred years ago. Cast bronze, it is approximately 8" from nose to tail and 7 1/2" from feet to the top of the ears, it is heavy and weighs almost 3 lbs. This would look great on any mantel, bookshelf, nightstand, desk, in a curio cabinet or on a dresser. Would make the perfect accent for a library, office, den, or living room. The first step can be shocking for some as they begin to decide how this original will be cut up. In order to prepare the original clay sculpture for molding. Note the registration marks which later in the process will serve to realign the parts. Shown here are the sections of the original clay sculpture after having been dissected. Now the various parts of the original are carefully mounted on clay plugs before the rubber mold material is applied. The clay plug later serves as a pour spout for the mold. As you can see now they begin painting the latex rubber onto the original together with the clay plus that's been added in layers.

Gorgeous Italian bronze bowl. Unsure of the age but I assume the turn of the century due to the styling. Measures approximately 9"x6"x 3.5" Has a heavy patina as shown in the pictures. I have not done anything to clean it but assume that it could be polished to your liking. I personally like the patina as-is. Stamped'Brevetto' with some numbers/letters. This is the Italian patent system. Also marked'made in Italy' and a small makers mark which I can't make out. Free shipping to the US. Here Artist original clay sculpture is nearly ready for the foundry. Note the artist is still adding the finishing touches. Most sculptors prefer to work with clay or wax; some however. Do use wood and other mediums. Here the finished original clay is now complete. The sculptor will take it to the foundry now, get a bid then begin the first stages of the lost wax process. The first step can be shocking for some as they begin to decide how this original will be cut up. In order to prepare the original clay sculpture for molding. Apparently) Art Nouveau style wall plaque featuring a lovely young lady amongst highly detailed flora, fauna, etc. The central circular area with the lady does not attact a magnet. The surrounding circular border and the entire back side do attract a magnet so are probably copper or bronze-plated iron or steel. The plaque measures about 12 5/8" diameter. It is in excellent condition with no significant issues. There are a few very minimal dings to outside edge. Patina and coloration are excellent. The central circular area with the lady is able to rotate within the outer ... morecircular area so can be adjusted a bit if needed. There are some minor surface marks on the back side. There is a loop for hanging. Currently has some wire between two feet for hanging. I have not found a maker's mark on this piece.
