Antique Victorian Embossed Tin Panel
Antique Victorian Embossed Tin Panel Classic Victorian design went into the making of this embossed tin panel. It was made sometime around 1840-50s and may have been used as part of a ceiling surround or fitted across the top of a fireplace. The panel is tin and was embossed with a central design of a woman's face flanked by flower filled cornucopia; two decorative medallions at each end. White at one time. The color has toned to a deep antique white color. Some small holes along top edge for nailing to a wall or mounting on a board. Measures approximately 12 1/4 inches x 48 1/2 inches; the tin is thin so depth is barely 1/8 inch and makes the piece quite fragile. As you can see time has left its mark: crazed. Scratching, scrapes and some loss of paint in some areas; rusted through in one corner(rusted on back) Even so. This type of embossing ... moreis rarely seen. Antique Tin Candy Mold Small Easter Egg Shaped Chick Marked 6529 and 20 Made by TC Weygandt Co New York For Your Tin Candy Mold Collection Details Description: A nice antique tin candy mold in the shape of a small chick with an egg shaped body. This is most likely a mold to make Easter candy that looks like a spring chick. The chick has feet and a small head with beak. Both the feet and the head are attached to a body that is shaped as an egg. Very interesting. The mold is composed of two halves with depression on one of the halves and raised hemispheres on the other half. These fit together to ensure that the two haves are in the right position. The two halves stay together with the aid of a small clip that is pushed over the edge of the two halves. It opens by removing the clip to reveal a backwards image of the chick. ANTIQUE GERMAN TIN CHOCOLATE CANDY GES GESCH MOLD COMPLETE HANSEL & GRETEL HOUSE
Up for bid(1) very old German chocolate candy mold. This is a wonderful vintage kitchenware item. It is a gingerbread house made of metal. The front shows a old woman holding a key with her cat by her feet and also Hansel and Gretel holding hands by the front door. The back shows Gretel pushing the old woman into a fireplace oven. The top has impressed German wording that says GES GESCH which means registered. I could not locate any brand name or other marks. The mold measures about 7 1/2 inches wide by about 6 1/4 inches high. There are 2 long clamps one on each side and 2 smaller clamps on the top. The outside has a dark tarnished finish that looks like a patina. You can see a shiny strip where it's been taped. There are some dark areas and some tiny surface rust spots on the inside. This is a pair of very old hammered bronze(with a nice clear ding) wine goblets. They are tin lined. They are great for decorative purposes. I am unsure as to whether they are 1930s or earlier so I did not place a date on them. One goblet is off kilter. The stem being slightly crooked. You can view this as they stand side by side. Lovely Jacob Biscuit Tin– Clematis from 1902 This lovely Irish biscuit tin from W. R. Jacob& Company dates to 1902 and is entitled. Clematis. It must be clematis flowers which decorate around the classical Grecian scene on the lid, as well as on the base. Details are embossed or repousse. The lid is hinged, and the tin was likely intended for use as a glove box after the biscuits were consumed. The logo presentation on the gold colored bottom is as lovely as the artwork on the lid! The tin was made by Hudson Scott and Sons of Carlisle, England. The antique wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, handling marks and soiling, some small dents/dings, etc. The highest embossed points are worn to dark metal for an overall aged appearance. One small scratch is over the eyes/face of a person on the ... morelid. Some crackled wear to the background areas of the lid. Though this may be intentional part of design. Unique hand hammered antique copper ewer. Pitcher, with very interesting handle. This is tin lined. Stands about 8" tall, the diameter of the base is 5" at the top about 3 1/4" across. Very unique piece, hand hammered throughout, as well as the top. Comfortably holds 5 cups, and doesn't leak. Don't know where this was made, but does not look like it was made in America. Antique Rare Resting Lamb French Tin Chocolate Mold
It was only in the 19th century that chocolate moulds(molds) were used for the first time; around 1830 the first moulds were created with the help of tin-coated metal sheets pressed into shape. Plaster moulds designed by artists were used to make the basic moulds and eventually. With large pressing machines and under high pressure, the first metal moulds were manufactured. Chocolate moulds consisted of two halves(so-called double moulds) and were kept closed by clips or other kinds of locks. The first double moulds had an opening at the bottom through which they were filled up with chocolate. Manufacturers of the chocolate moulds/molds were located in Germany, France, Czechoslovakia and Switzerland; most no longer exist due the wars in Europe in the 1900s. Very old tin? coffee pot. Heavy which makes me think that it could be steel and not tin. Appears to be hand made. Lid pushes into pot and is quite snug. Scratches and scrapes(but not severe) just add to the charm. The pot stands nine inches tall and 23 inches in circumference at the bottom. Holds over a gallon of water. Primitive but strong.
