Antique Decorated Brass Bowl w/ Heavy Patina
I was very tempted to dip this to see how it would come out. But some people like the patina. I put the scratch in the bottom to be sure it's brass. The bowl has a beautiful pressed design that repeats around the outside and measures almost 5" round and 1 3/4" tall. We are buyers. Sellers and traders. Old Antique Heavy Cast Lead, Bronze or Brass Wash Horse Figure Doorstop Bookend
Here's an interesting old or antique mystery item we don't know too much about. It is clearly very old and has acquired a very nice darkened aged appearance. Our best guess is that this is a doorstop and less likely but possibly was a bookend. It is made of thickly casted metal we think is probably lead or a lead alloy with a bronze or brass finish. Wash or plate. At one time it has a bottom piece hand soldered to it that probably stabilized it better for it's intended use. The piece still stands very well for use as a doorstop or decorative knick knack. It is about 7 inches tall about 4.5 inches wide and about 1.125 inches thick at the base. There is a slight curvature to the casting at the top of the horse head and ears we try to show in the pictures. The casting quality at the back shows some rough areas with slight pits, somewhat ... moreprimitive in appearance that seems to also imply great age and the manufacturing methods of earlier times. The piece is surprisingly hefty at about 4.5 lbs. That's about all we know. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this old cast metal horse figure door stop or bookend low so enjoy the auction. When packed this will weigh about 5 lbs so we'll use one of the USPS Flat rate boxes at a fixed rate of $5.80 as the lowest cost postal alternative to the buyer. Antique European Heavy Pewter Tankard/Stein Embossed with Hunting Scene
This is a very old tankard. Most likely dating to 19th century, perhaps even earlier. It is made of very heavy and thick metal which I believe to be pewter and the surface is embossed with hunting scenes featuring hunters and dogs and this appears to have been done by hand. From what I have been told this tankard originally came from Europe. It is definitely quite unusual and it is obvious that it had been well used over the hundred years of its existence and there are signs of use. Marked with some kind of maker's mark or hallmark on the bottom but cannot decipher it. Please look at all the pictures to judge the condition. We are pleased to offer these beautiful candle sticks! We have seven of these candelebra's all of which came from the same estate. Each is hand forged and beautifully fashioned. The wrought iron is thick and very substantial and the candleabra is heavy. There is intricate detailing with lovely scrolled curves on the arms and the legs. The center shaft features a twisted design with an open"bird cage" twist as the center focal design. The four candle cups and drip pans are nicely patterned as well. The candleabras were in the same estate for many years and all of them are matching(in case you want to purchase multiples) They are in very good. Antique to older vintage condition. This is a heavy Antique Solid Brass Pot. Kettle or other? It is 5" tall not counting the handle and with handle is 12" tall and 10" in diameter. Handle is riveted on, does not move and appears to also be brass and a very solid piece of it, I can see the brass color under all that patina. Needs to be cleaned as you can see in pics inside and out, or leave as is, lots of patina and inside is pretty dirty and needs to be cleaned. It's a very unique looking pot but I cannot find any markings anywhere that would indicate who the maker is. Very ornate. Unique 19th century bronze Tazza or Compote- an ornate bowl on a pedestal or base. This one has Griffins or Gryphonis handles. Griffins are legendary creatures with the body, tail and back legs of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle and eagle talons as front feet. Griffins/ Gryphonis were symbolic of kings, powerful and majestic. It stands 6" high and 10" across where the Griffins stand out and bottom base is 3.75" across. It is heavy and weighs about 2lbs. The wrought iron is thick and very substantial and the pieces are very heavy. There is intricate detailing with lovely scrolled curves on the arms and the legs. The center shaft features twisted iron with a French"bird cage" twist as the center focal accent. The four candle cups and drip pans are nicely patterned as well. The candleabras were in the same estate for many years and all of them are matching(in case you want to purchase multiples) They are in very good, antique to older vintage condition. Offered for auction: This is a very special vintage wall plate purchased in an antique shop in Lisbon. Portugal 45 years ago and held in my family ever since. The medal is the portrait of Jorge Alvarez. The Portuguese Explorer from the 16th Century who is credited with discovering Macau. The statue of Alvarez that stands in Macau shows a strong resemblance with the portrait on this medallion and the name"Macau" can be seen engraved on the top of the medallion, next to Jorge Alvarez portrait(see pictures#3 and#4) The wall plate is made of heavy cast brass(it weighs bout 2 lbs) Picture#5 shows the back side of the wall plate. Up for sale is a nice Antique Bronze Horse I bought from an antiques dealer. It is in great condition. Has some lovely spots of green patina coming through on some of the detailwork making it stand out beautifully, will grow even more beautiful with age. Was made about a hundred years ago. Cast bronze, it is approximately 8" from nose to tail and 7 1/2" from feet to the top of the ears, it is heavy and weighs almost 3 lbs. The kettle is made from thick copper and has some nice weight to it. the handle is made from brass with a wooden handle and is nicely riveted to the pot with copper rivets. it is in nice shape and measures 8 1/2 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches tall. Antique Heavy Bronze Incense Burner/Candle Holder/Vase
This is a very nice early twentieth century European Candle Holder or Incense Burner. It would also make a beautiful small vase. Made of heavy hand worked bronze. This lovely piece has a removable center container, also made of solid bronze. It stands on three very shapely feet and is expertly finished, having nicely smoothed edges and well defined artistic oak leaves above each leg. Being hand crafted, it does not stand perfectly level, but the unevenness is slight. This antique bronze piece dates from a time when high quality was demanded in decorative items. Interior container shows signs of use as a burner. Clean. No odors. Unsigned. 1920-1930. 4" tall X 5" wide. Weighs 2 pounds. Antique Victorian Spelter/Gold Gilt Don Ceasar Statue -Tall/Heavy -c 1900
For your consideration is a Large Victorian Statue of Don Cesar(c1900) He has been re-issued a wooden sword which seems to suit him fine. His sword sheath is original and intact. Don's name is missing from the base but he is very confident in himself and it poses no threat to his identity. The base measures 8" by 5" and Don's total height is nearly 22" He weighs in at 13.5 pounds. The detail to his facial features. His clothing, his robust"girth" and even the spur on his boot is very precise. I imagine the gold gilding is rather old as there is a warm patina(and dust) within the crevices and folds. He isn't comfortable in Michigan's surroundings and is hoping for a town with a lot of action.where his presence is known by all the single ladies in town. this is an exquisite large antique handmade copper cooking pot. made in mid to late 1800's it has an exquisite shiny finish and made completely of thick heavy copper. it has a wonderful rare attribute having initials of maker hand hammered into the handle. it is beautifully dovetailed together on the side of the handle and on the bottom. it has an very large solid/ thick copper handle which is beautifully riveted to the pot with heavy duty handmade copper rivets and done in the shape of a spade. there are no dents. It would take a lot of force to dent this piece. it is lined inside with a silver toned metal that has worn over time and use.
