This bust was made at a French foundry right around the year 1900 and has a little brass title plaque that reads LIBELLULE PAR A. de RANIERI(Sculptr) Libellule is the French word for dragonfly and Aristide de Ranieri. The statue is of an Art Nouveau stylized woman in a long flowing gown with partially exposed breasts. The woman has flowers in her hair and is admriing a butterfly which is down on her side. This staute stands 18" in height. 6 1/2" in width, and 5" in depth. This piece is in excellent condition with no breaks, repairs, or wear and the gilt finish is original. Antique E Jullien/Paris (1880-1900) French Gilt Bronze Tray/Dish/Valet
This is a beautiful antique french gilt bronze that was made by the E Jullien Foundry in Paris between the years of 1880 and 1900. The foundry was only active then. There is a mark engraved on the bottom that says"E Jullien/Paris/12 Rue Pasquier. I have already mentioned the flaws- the gilt is missing from most of the woman's body. There are some nicks and scratches, but it is still very beautiful. I find especially charming the fact that the woman's hair goes down the side of the dish, and you can also see her arm resting there from the side. I am selling this for a friend(this belonged to her aunt) And neither of us know anything about antiques, but I did look up the foundry and found some very good prices for the objects made there. Antique German Hand Painted Metal Enamel Tea Pot Creamer Sugar Set 1900's
Antique German hand painted porcelain enameled tea set is in great condition. There is some reasonable metal tarnish and minimal staining on the inside from use please see photo's for detail. There is also some wear to the enamel around the inside rim of the sugar. The leaf pattern has beautiful color with teal and rust colors against the porcelain white background. Tea pot stands approx 9" tall x 8" wide from spout to handle edge but tea pot is approx 5" wide. Creamer is approx 6 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide from spout to handle edge and creamer itself is 3 1/2" wide. Sugar is approx 5 1/2" tall& wide to handles edge and 3 3/4" wide. Nice old set. Antique Milk Can Handles Set Of 4 ,Three stamped "IRON CLAD" 1 Marked Pat. 1900
This set would make Fantastic decor. For any wall. Found in upstate N.Y. 3 of the 4 are marked"IRON CLAD" on one side and, I believe a, pat. date on the other. One of the handles is different and unmarked. I did not clean much, as I figured I would leave that to the buyer so they can choose the amount of rust they want to take off. All the handles are very sturdy for their age, especially since they have been outside, under dirt and rocks, for around one hundred years. They measure approx. 4 1/4" long and approx.2 1/2" deep. Also the 3 have what appear to be sound dampers in the handles they could also be weights, not really sure. Antique 1900's Cast Iron Republic Coal & Coke Penguin Advertising Paperweight
This is a VERY RARE and Unique Antique Solid Cast Iron and Steel Advertising Paperweight. This came from an Estate of a man who collected Hundreds of Antique and Vintage advertising and collectible paperweights from the early 1900's on. This one is Very Unique. It is a solid Cast Iron Penguin posed in a waddling position with his flippers out. It is attached to a solid bar of block steel. Cast into the back are the words, REPUBLIC COAL& COKE Co. CHICAGO. It measures 3 1/2" tall and weighs over a pound. The penguin is attaché with two threaded rods thru the base and then old nuts inside recessed drilled hole in steel. For your consideration is a Large Victorian Statue of Don Cesar(c1900) He has been re-issued a wooden sword which seems to suit him fine. His sword sheath is original and intact. Don's name is missing from the base but he is very confident in himself and it poses no threat to his identity. The base measures 8" by 5" and Don's total height is nearly 22" He weighs in at 13.5 pounds. The detail to his facial features. His clothing, his robust"girth" and even the spur on his boot is very precise. I imagine the gold gilding is rather old as there is a warm patina(and dust) within the crevices and folds. Up for sale this c. 1900 sweet& small cold painted bronze/ plastic& glass thermometer having a figure of a bronze cat sitting on a stool. Stands approximately 3 1/2" tall x 1 ½”W overall. Cat figure is on a 2 legged stool(1 leg missing) is approx 1 1/2" tall. The R. Hoehn Co. New York appears on the bottom. Thermometer is working and intact. Samovars are very traditional Russion vessels for heating and boiling water used primarily for the tea making and drinking. The name"samovar" comes from the Russian words for"self" and"boiling" and refers to the method of heating water with charcoal. The samovars were made in Russia from 1700s. This particular one was made in late 1890s- early 1900s. It was made by the factory of N.A.Vorontsov- a well-known factory foubded in 1860 in the city of Tula- the main samovar production region of Russia. It shows the factory marks as well as many trade show medals for the highest quality. The samovars differ by theit shapes- this shape is called"banka" or"can" ... morein English. Here is an antique navy gunboat lidded box or holder made of mixed materials. The interior has a wood base and front. Exterior is made of a magnetic metal and brass. It dates from the very late 1800's to early 1900's and is not marked by the maker. Measures 7 1/8" long x 2 3/8" wide x 2" high. There is some tarnish to the brass and small losses to the painted surfaces, cover does not shut completely. Overall in good to very good condition with no breaks or dents. An attractive. Original 19th Century, Brass Kettle. May be from as early as 1890 to the 1910s Style and shape shows good proportion with brass finial on a decorative lid. And turned wooden handle. Dovetail seamed joints. Tinned inside. Possibly English or American. CONDITION- Decent Antique Condition- unpolished/ uncleaned. Expected use marks and minor dents found on body. With spout slightly off kilter, but I will let new owner straighten If so desired. Design on lip where lid sits has been worn in places as a result do cleaning over several decades as shown in photos. There have been two old repairs on the sides- see ohotos. I believe the handle supports are bronze, and are beautiful. The wood handle is attractive with two very minor chips missing. Dove-tailed construction on back as shown in photos. Some paint splatters from a messy wall painter a few years ago are still on the item. I have only been able to find one other example of this piece online. It does not have the vibrant red or green or lavender paint that this one has. Possibly. Someone between 1930(date stamped on back of piece- see photo) and 1959 painted it? I really don't know. A very classically inspired piece the body of the cup has a clustering of leaves. Berries and flowers in high relief. The handles are decorated with nicely modeled female heads in a Greek or Roman style. Nicely shaped handles with pierced work. It is in overall excellent condition. There is some corrosion to the bottom of the interior and the base of the foot appears to have been professionally restored at some point prior to my acquiring it. These two bookends are a beautiful set of old. Heavy polychromed, original by I believe the Galvano Bronze Company and/or P. Mori& Sons Each bookend features two small children trying to hold up the pages of a book. The original green felt has completely fallen off the base. But I have both of them and do not want to glue back on, will leave that to the buyer. This set is all original. Each bookend stand at 5" H x 5" W x 4" Deep. One bookend weighs 4.6 pounds.
