It dates from the early 1900's around 1920. It is a signed Electrolier fixture. This company made high end lighting in the 1920's and 1930's. This fixture comes with the slip shade. The glass shade is free from any chips or cracks. This lamp looks quite nice hen it is lit. The sconce has the original gold paint and it is free from any signs of rust which is nice. This slip shade sconce has the original switch on it and it is still active and working. This lamp has been tested working however it still has the old cloth wires so you may want to have them replaced. The sconce measures 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" and projects 5 1/4" from the wall( with the shade on) The slip for the shade is 4 5/8" at the top and curves in over 3 1/4" As you can see there is some white wall paint on the one corner. According to the Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends. This set is known as"Servant of Knowledge" circa 1930, attributed to JB Hirsch, gray metal figure on polished stone, rarity 5. A bronzed nude male figure is kneeling on black stone base. He arms are behind him, palms up for the placement of the book. Condition issues include small chips to the base and the books are not attached to the figure. The books do rest nicely in his open hands and they display beautifully. Beautiful Antique Carl Sorensen Art Deco Verdigris Patina Vases 1920s-30s Here is a lovely pair of bronze vases created in Eastern Pennsylvania by artist Carl Sorensen in the great Art Deco period of the 1920s- 1930s. Bronze with verdigris patina and lines of bronze showing in a circular pattern around the bottom and moving up to midway on the vases. Beautiful craftsmanship. Mr. Sorensen eventually sold his wares through Roycroft and Tiffany. Working for TIffany in the 1930s. Some of these vases were numbered. This pair is not. This spectacular pair of vases show age, dings, wear inside of them, because they are vintage items. They appear to have been used a lot in their lifetime. Antique Art Deco Bronzed White Metal Statue Figurine of Flapper Girl 1920's
I have an antique art deco era white metal. Or spelter, figural statue of a flapper girl in somewhat of classical garb. There is wear to the bronze patina, some greening and on the inside of her right leg, left as you look at it, the metal has separated. Not sure how this happened as it doesn't look like a puncture and it is difficult to notice unless you hold it up to the light. I don't see a signature anywhere or an indication of where it was made. Antique Cast Iron Ashtray / Smoking Stand - Art Deco Figural Dragon - 25" Tall
Antique Cast Iron Ashtray/ Smoking Stand- Art Deco Figural Dragon- 25" Tall: Up for auction is a fantastic Antique/ Vintage Cast Iron Ashtray Stand that I came across on one of my recent'picking adventures' The ashtray/ smoking stand is in excellent condition as it is very clean and it is free of any cracks. Chips, breaks or repairs. The heavy ashtray cup sits perfectly between the body and curled up tail of the dragon, secured in place by two small slotted groves on the cup itself and the cup is easily removed from the stand for cleaning. The inside of the cup is very clean, showing only the slightest area of surface rust(easily cleaned) and this light surface rust is not penetrating nor is the cast iron pitted in any way. What is missing from the the ashtray cup is the lid which would rest on top and hide the contents of the ... moreashtray. This is not a major concern as these lids can be found from time to time and the absence of the lid takes nothing away from the wonderful look and appeal to this stand. The entire stand is painted in a way which resembles that of copper with a perfectly aged patina. Initially I had photographed the stand outside under the natural sunlight but I was finding that the sunlight was too bright, giving the coloration of the stand a more golden yellow toned color versus the actual copper toned look that it has however I found that the natural sunlight brought out the fantastic details of the stand so I decided to keep them with this posting but please know that the coloration is best represented in the photographs of the stand against the plain white sheet of paper. The paint is also in excellent condition having only a couple of small chips in it, all of which are hard to notice unless closely inspecting the piece and the ornate base raises the stand slightly off of the floor while balancing the piece perfectly in a sturdy manner. Metal Rooster Sculpture with the initials of J. B. and the number 2482 and the bottom reads pat.pending. I am not for sure this is Jennings Brothers but it does have the JB initials( i will let you be the judge of that) I am not sure what kind of metal it is- but it is heavy and does have a very distinct smell on your hands after you touch it- Bronze maybe? Original pair of antique bookends featuring a big cat roaring. Possibly a tiger, by Armor Bronze Company, NYC circa 1925. This very rare pair of original bookend featuring a Big Cat roaring in an aggressive stance. These were made by the Armor Bronze Company at their original New York City location. This set is high quality and very detailed. Each bookend stands 5" tall, 7" long, 3" wide and weighs 2 lbs. 2 oz. 4 lbs. 4 oz. for the pair) They are in very good condition with a gorgeous rich patina. Authenticity is assured as both still have the original felt bottoms and original Armor Bronze, New York City paper labels. These antique bookends were made using the much coveted and highly collectible bronze-clad method of production which utilized electricity via an electrode built into the plaster mold of the subject piece. Kathodian Bronze Works was one of just a handful of companies who produced metal arts using the process known as bronze-clad which created very high quality pieces primarily in the early part of the 20th century. The bronze-clad method in the 1920's was highly innovative. It was an early electroform process which created some of the most outstanding bookends ... moreof that era. The process entailed placing a rod(electrode) inside a plaster mold and then using electricity to form a bronze shell around the piece. Some of these products could take up to three days to complete. The cost of time and labor was excessive. None of the foundries survived. However, today, these pieces are greatly treasured and considered show pieces in the homes of collectors.

Exquisite antique vintage 1920's Art Deco French sculpture by L. Bruns. This is an old original NOT a reproduction. Beautiful subject of a young girl and dog which was originally cold painted silver. You can still see traces of the silver paint in the crevices(my photos turned out golden in color but there is no gold color to the figures at all they have aged to a soft grayish patina) The sculpture rests on a beautiful black and butterscotch marble base that is 1 1/2" high. There have been no repairs or flaws to this lovely piece. It measures approx. 22" long by 9 1/2" high by 6" deep, the figures measure 20" long. This sculpture is extremely heavy weighing approx. 35 lbs. packed and will be shipped FedEx. Sorry but no International shipping on this item I checked the rates and the cost was nearly $500.

End of the Trail" After the James Earle Fraser 1915 life-size sculpture of a sorrowful Native American Indian on horseback, made circa 1928 by the Galvano Bronze Company, a pair of vintage electroformed bronze-clad figural bookends, beautiful dark-chocolate patina, this has not been cleaned, great patina still intact. Both are marked"P. Beneduce" For Paul Beneduce, the artist who created many great pieces for Galvano. Both pieces signed one harder to read. The flash makes these look a little brighter than they are dark pieces and a very rare item to be seen on ebay. I prefer only Priority mail so we both can track and you get it quickly. This extremely rare set of bookends feature'The Good Fairy' by Armor Bronze. Each bookend stands 7 1/2" tall. 4 3/8" wide, 2" deep and weighs 1 lb. 14 oz. These are in very good condition with some finish loss mainly to the blue polychrome and a buckle in one elbow which is not cracked or broken. Authenticity is assured as both are marked'THE GOOD FAIRY' and there is still a remant of the original Armor Bronze paper label on the bottom. The Good Fairy' was the creation of Jessie McCutcheon Raleigh who was commissioned to make a design for the 1916 World's Fair. Her design was'THE GOOD FAIRY' statuette. This set was painted in a creamy white color which was very rare for LITTCO products. Typically, the metal arts products such as bookends were plated cast iron. They did bookends exclusively in cast iron. This set was made using a two-piece mold. The puppy is fully figural mounted on the base with single-slotted screws. Littlestown, PA produced a variety of decorative metal arts products made from gray iron from about ... more1920 to 1932. It is important to note that these were produced between the wars as the iron was too valuable and necessary to make art products and instead was solely dedicated to the war effort. They had almost 50 different bookend designs in their catalog. The majority were plated cast iron although a few had paint. LITTCO never marked their metal arts products with a permanent shopmark or hallmark. The bookends all had paper labels generally placed on the bottom protective felt or bottom metal depending on the configuration of the base. This is the case with a great many of the decorative art metal manufacturers that made bookends and other metal arts particularly using iron. This is one major reason why the material is one of the greatest indicators in determining the age of bookends and other metal arts objects.
