We are pleased to offer this wonderful. Old, antique pair of candlesticks. This petite pair dates to the 19th century. They are a beautiful representation of French ormolu. They are Rococo in style and feature very detailed and ornate design. The pair are gilt bronze which has a nice thickness. They have beautiful bases with"plant stem" center columns. The stems lead to a large opened bloom that rests under the three, ascending height candle holders. The candle holders have very detailed leaves and vines that seem to wrap around them. There are two large flowers on the top sections; one faces front, the other faces the back. The candle wax drip cups are also in the form of multi petaled flowers. The pair is very ornate and extremely detailed. They are quite old and they take a smaller circumference taper candle as traditional tapers ... moreare too large to fit into the cups. The pair have screw thread that holds the cups in place and that runs down the center column. The pair are in very good condition for their age. There is some aging to the gilted patina but the pair still retain the gilted appearance. Each candelabra measures 13" tall. The bases are 4.5" wide and the top sections measure 9.5" wide. It measures about 5" wi de and is 3 1/4" tall and about 1 3/4" deep. It has a great-looking crown design and the brass is nice and thick. Judging from the look of the back. I t appears t his was made using a sand-cast method. So i t likely dates to the early 1800s. It is unsigned and is in excellent condition. Please review the photos for specifics. FINE LATE 18th EARLY 19th CENTURY NEW ENGLAND ANTIQUE IRON TASTING SPOON Description: Great example of a late 18th. Early 19th century blacksmith made spoon dating circa 1790-1840. Spoons such as this are often referred to as'tasting spoons' as they were meant for just that. The bowl of the piece would have been inserted in to a kettle. Iron pot or other hearth cooking device to sample the ingredients cooking therein. The hearth attendant would then vary the recipe they were creating by adding various dried herbs, mortar ground salt or pepper pods, etc. As you can see this example has a deeper ladle, which suggests it was also for serving. As you can see the blacksmith who created this piece worked in a fine overall form with a twist to the handle. Nice smaller size. Griffins are legendary creatures with the body, tail and back legs of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle and eagle talons as front feet. The case is beautifully incised with a central figure- and bordered on all 4 corners with very stylized Birds(Dragons? and Lions. There is very intricate incising around the border and across the top of the case. The Lid opens and closes on a very sturdy hinge. The back of the case is plain- with a riveted belt of sash loop. This is a beautifully preserved piece- i have not polished it is quite clean with traces of old polish. I would date this piece around 1850/1875. Antique Pewter Spoons (2) 19th Century - Ornate, Soldered, Pressed Royalty
Pair of antique decorative spoons are a bit of a puzzle. Very ornate these spoons are believed to be 19th century. The pewter is pressed. With the handles in the shapes of what appears to be English royalty, a man and a woman, and they bear a striking resemblance to King George III and his Queen Charlotte, but I have not been able to verify this through research. I have found none other like them. There are no crests or similar markings on the back of the bowl on the spoon, but there are a pair of initials as follows: A- K- and there is the number 1750 below the initials. From what I have found, the initials could possibly be the pewterer's mark, but more than likely are the initials of the owners. The number 1750 does not appear to be a date, but probably a catalog number or the like. The handles are soldered to the spoons. The pressed ... morespoons appear to be identical, so they were probably machined and not hand crafted. Spoons are 7 1/2" from top to bottom, and the spoon size is approximately that of a modern day serving spoon. These were inherited, but did not come with the information on origin. These will be insured for shipping. There have been two(2) verbal appraisals obtained on these, one in 1982, when they were valued at $75.00 apiece, and one in 2002, where they were valued at $150.00 apiece.

And about 1 3/4" deep. It has a great-looking design and the brass is nice and thick. Judging from the look of the back. I t appears t his was made using a sand-cast method. Persian Antique 19th Century Middle Eastern Islamic Hand Engraved Bowl Toreutics
This is a original one of a kind 19th Century Persian Middle Eastern large bowl/ pan with a footed bottom rim. From what I understand the metal can be a mix of copper(mainly) Zinc, tin and even other metals avaiable to the artist at the time. The Bowl is beautifully hand engraved and is the typical Persian style toreutics of the period. It's believed the piece depicts that of King Cyrus(Cyrus the Great) holding a lotus plant offering his hand in marriage to the Queen Tomyris of Massagetae in which she rejected. As the story goes Cyrus then ordered his army to take Massagetae by force. It is said that that Tomyris and her army defeated and killed Cyrus during his attempt to conquer her country and then beheaded him. The Bowl’s is very detailed and in excellent condition with only light scratches around the rim and it has some deep brown ... moreand light green patina. It measures at 14-1/2” round by 2-1/4" deep and has a hand pinched 1/8” footed rim on the bottom. There is no makers mark. Which is characteristic of the craftsmen from the day. I have not cleaned the bowl in fear of taking away from the value, but it will shine bright if cleaning is desired. The magnet does not stick to the item so it is highly likely that it is either iron or white metal, but more likely iron because the item is very heavy. I had trouble identifying the item-I called it a diorama but I am not so sure that is a proper designation. The word"plaque" is rather nondescript for an item as nice and interesting as this so perhaps it is best to call it a wall hanging. It appears to be about 1870- 1880. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE BRASS STANDING HEARTH TRIVET ~ 18th/19th CENTURY ~ SCARCE
You are looking at an antique brass trivet from the late 18th or early 19th century. We've never been able to date it closer with any certainty as we’ve never seen another exactly like it in over 35 years of collecting such items. We have owned this particular trivet for about 20 years and it comes from our personal collection. It has no maker’s mark which is to be expected as most handmade functional brass articles do not. We believe that the trivet is American or English in origin. It stands approximately 9” in height. It measures 6 ½” across(measured at the feet) and 9 ¾” in depth(also measured at the feet) The top is essentially a 7” x 6” rectangle. The trivet weighs approx. 2 ½ lbs. This trivet is different in a couple of ways. First. All four legs are brass and frequently standing trivets of this type have back legs ... moreof iron. Second, the front legs may be unique. We have never seen trivet legs of this shape before whether in brass, iron or copper. This automatically makes this trivet a scarce, if not rare design. As if the shape of the front legs weren't interesting enough, if you look close you will see that they terminate in“penny feet” We have seen penny feet on certain types of American andirons but we've never seen them before on this type of trivet. The top of the trivet is also quite wonderful. It has a scalloped over lapping edge with design cut corners. The center of the trivet is highlighted by a reticulated six point star suspended in a circle with each branch of the star pierced with a single hole. These six holes themselves form a circle surrounding a single hole in the dead center of the star. The four corners of the top are also decorated with a pierced or reticulated“X” in each corner. The trivet is in good overall original condition especially considering its age and that it is a functional item that was likely in daily use. It is. Up for bid is a fairly large antique American pewter lamp by an unknown maker. Nice scrolled handle and double burner that screws on and off very easily. No major dings to the body with a small area on the lamp base that may or may not have been repaired long ago. See last two photos.it stands approx 8" to the top of the burner cap. Description: Beautiful large handwrought pewter coffee pot with a handle that terminates in a heart at the bottom. Great flowing design. Substantial and well made. Appears to be handwrought, but I am not an expert. Not marked as to maker or country of origin. I always assumed this was late 19th century, along the lines of the Arts and Crafts and turn of the century English designers, but I saw a very similar one in a period film set in the Georgian period, so perhaps it's earlier. I am sure someone on ebay knows. Most of my items are vintage or antique and may have normal wear commensurate with age. Use and materials. I will mention any damage or flaws I see. Antique 19th Century Brass Lion Paw Door Stop Porter Leaves, Rope Twist & Patina
Here we have a really wonderful 19th century brass lion paw door stop or porter with a super rich time aged to dark brown patina. This heavy door stop is from the Regency period and we believe it dates to the 1825-1840 period. It is made of brass with the base having cast iron loading in the rear and weighs in at 5 pounds 3 ounces. The base is in the form of a lions paw. The shank has rising leaves and the oval handle is twisted rope with leaves. This door porter has wonderful detailing with the amazing definition of the claws. Knuckles and hair on the paw. It has a super rich time aged patina which appears the color of aged bronze with dark browns. Copper and light turquoise tones. This door stop is in untouched as-found condition and we have not polished. Cleaned or even dusted it. There is a slight curve to shank which my be original design ... moreand a small mark or scratch to patina above claws. It has a few small paint rubs or marks on front and light scratching on back and bottom. This piece measures 14 3/8" tall. 4" wide and will protrude 3 1/4" from the door when in place. This is a really wonderful Regency period piece and it will make an outstanding statement at any door or in any collection. T his tall hand-hammered vase is typical of Russian 19th century craftsmanship with copper trim on the brim. Copper rivets and a toothed seam on the body. the heavy gauge of the metal is also typical. However the piece is unmarked. It measures 13 1/2" in height. The vase is in very good condition and all of the rivets are tight.

Superb antique brass and wrought iron berry/cooking pot/kettle 19th century
Description: Beautiful heavy antique Victorian handwrought brass and wrought iron cooking/berry pot(often used to make jams and jellies) The pix are taken with a flash and without; the color is about in the middle of the two(there's some patina but it's been cleaned in its century or two lifetime) The bottom has faint concentric rings to it may have been spun. At least in part, perhaps cast and spun. But the walls are quite thick. The handle is fixed(doesn't move) and riveted in place and is especially elegant in the way it graduates to slightly wider at the top. In great condition; no dings. Dents or splits. A bit dulled in the interior; I've not polished or cleaned it, except for a light wipe with a damp cloth. It will shine up beautifully if polished.
