I did wire the sconce in and it works– however– the socket on the left is very loose and definitely needs some work or replacement. The wiring looks like it was replaced at one time. The amber bulbs shown in the photos are what was in the sconces when we got it. However, they are NOT INCLUDED in the purchase and will not be shipped with the sconce. These are vintage cast iron bookends or doorstops. They both have a couple praying over the harvest. One is more rusted than the other. They both need cleaning and seasoning. Also on one is marked Angelus. From research that I did they are from the early 1900's. The taller on is approximately 4 and 5/8" tall and 4 and 3/4" wide. The shorter one marked Angelus is approximately 4 and 1/4" tall and 4 and 1/2" wide.

Hi! Up for auction is this great old antique/vintage cast iron/metal elephant figurine/paperweight in original. As found condition. I purchased this and another like it(in another listing) at a local estate sale. She weighs 1 lb. 5/80z. she's a little heavier than the other one, though they are exactly the same, just different colors) She has three layers of paint(obviously chipping) that I can see-mint/seafoam green is the color at the bottom-maybe the original color, I don't know, followed by white and then black. I have turned this elephant every way but inside out and do not see a maker's mark, so I do not know who made her or where.sorry. She measures roughly 3 1/2" long, 3 5/8" high(from foot to top of trunk) and her rear is about 2" high. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! Here is a lovely early piece of Louis Vincent Aronson Metal Art. Marked on the backside. L. V. A 1923, it is a metal relief image of the baby Jesus and Joseph with its original wall hanging loop at the back. This is a wonderful piece for the Aronson collector- most known for his Ronson lighters. Aronson was born in ... more1869 and attended the New York Technical School for metallurgy and metal working. He had a lab in the basement of his parents' home where he experimented with plating process on metal. These wonderful marked decorative pieces are very hard to find- so I was quick to grab it for you. The plaque measures 6 3/8" tall by 4" wide and is about 1/2" thick from the front to the back. It weighs a smidge under 1 lb, so it's heavy for its size. The metal is a silver color that is very dark in some spots from age. A magnet does not stick to it. It's hard to see in my photos, but in the light, you can still see a fair amount of the gold color of it's original plating. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- aside from the wear to the finish- no issues at all. You can see a new piece of tape on the front in my photos that I forgot to take off(it held on the dealer tag) it's been removed now, and the tape didn't alter the patina. It is dusty and could use a little cleaning, I have not cleaned, and have left in as found condition. It's a soulful piece. Please ask if you have any questions. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! This one is soooo one of my favorites this week- it is just so pretty! AND. There's lots of ways that you can use it too. It's a vintage cast metal(a magnet does not stick, I think it's spelter) stand in the shape of a musical harp or lyre. With the right size, it will work as a book stand, a music stand, ... moreeven a photo or art frame stand- I tried all- and heavy ones too, and this stand stood strong. It measures 8" wide, 11 1/8" tall and is 5 7/8" deepest- that's at the top and at the feet. The piece was made from two pieces that were soldered together at a bar that meets on either side(that also serves as the rest for your item) I'm showing a close up of the bars' seams in photo 12- it's soldered there, and I shot a close up because from afar, I didn't want you thinking that it's a crack or it's a repair- it's original. The bars on the inside are 7 3/4" apart measuring on the outside walls and 6 3/8" apart measuring on the inside walls. The space between the sides at the bars is 2 3/8" apart measuring on the inside walls, and goes up to 5" apart as the two sides sway out by design. The piece weighs 3 1/2 lbs. It's marked with a B on the inside in the cast metal- I do not know the maker. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The finish is a dark gold, and it shows only very minor wear. This listing is for a set of Victorian/Art Nouveau style metal candle holders in a tarnished brass color. They are a beautiful design with lots of scrolling and what look like large Trumpet Lilies. The seperate part of acanthus leaves that flare out from the neck can be removed by unscrewing the top piece(photo 4) There is an insert for narrow candles(photo 5) that comes out giving you 2 sizes of candles that can be used. It's like having 2 for 1! There are also tiny holes in every other leaf to hang crystals. The candle holders are heavy. Well made pieces that are in excellent condition. I was told by the older Gentleman(75 ish) that the 2 door stops had always been in his grandmothers house and when he was a child he would play with them and hurt his toes when he would accidentally hit them while barefoot. I am not a collector of Old Door Stops I just couldn't resist them at the time. Bull dog is in as found condition. This piece was designed by Grace Raynor signed with the"G. R. on the door and c"1921" There is also a number 140 on the back of the plate and on the front of the girl. It was made by Hubley 1920-1925 in Pennsylvania. The door knocker is made of Cast Iron and measures approximately 3 5/8" tall by 2 1/4" wide. This beautiful set of bookends or doorstops are a perfect addition for the dog collector. Made of of cast metal. But I am not sure what kind of metal. Vintage Cast Metal Figurine Man Riding Donkey Backwards Nasreddin Hoja Turkey O.K. I took a hike out to one of my favorite dealers. He has one of those buildings that is packed inside and out with generations of auctions and estate sales, you know what I mean, the kind of place that makes you slam on the breaks when you see it. 99% of the time he’s NOT open, but he’ll open if you ask him and he has the time. He has a fabulous variety and an eye for the unusual and wacky, so shopping there is Maureen’s heaven. There’s so much to choose from this week– advertising, signs, primitives, medical, and antiques galore– you don’t want to miss! I still have items from the dealer who closed, and the flea market too– yikes! I’ve got to get to work! This one is a first for me! I had to look him up to find out who he is. What I have is an old vintage(if ... morenot antique. Which he very well could be, see what you think) cast metal figuring of Nasreddin Hoja. He's a figure of a man riding a donkey backwards and he is the image of Nasreddin Hoja- a Turkish folk hero. Hoja translates to teacher, and his story is that of a mythical farmer whose tales and adventures give hope and humor and Easop-like morals. In his jaunts, he's both crafty and naive, wise and foolish, someone who tricks but is also the butt of tricks, and he's been a mythical figure that has lived through centuries. He charmed me from hello, even if you don't know about him, like I didn't. A man sitting on his donkey facing backwards, holding onto the tail as if it were a rein. The metal is grey and does not stick to a magnet, so my guess is spelter. He has a very worn gold colored finish that you can just see peeks of on one side- that side is mostly the deep dark metal with the finish showing only in the crevices, and the other side, much of the finish is still seen, with only minor wear like on the tail. It just have something to do with where he was displayed for so many years- my guess is window side and non window side? Or, front side(wear) back
