VERY Cool Large Primitive Industrial Solid Copper Two Handled Box Storage Box
VERY Cool Large Primitive Industrial Solid Copper Two Handled Box Storage Box Lots of oldees for you this week- some very cool and very old primitives. Fabulous retro industrial, wonderful original artwork, and even some deco thrown in- there’s something for everyone! This one is a real looker! I don't know what it came from originally. But this old copper two handled box is ready to go to work for you- and look pretty too! It measures 12 1/4" by 12 1/4" across the top, but the inside dimensions are really 12 1/4" by 10 5/8" as there is a lip that runds the lenth of two opposite sides- as if it used to rest into a frame or some larger piece. There's two handles that fall down flush agains the lips and raise up when you pull on them. The box is 8" tall and it weighs just under 4 3/4 lbs. It is in excellent ... moresolid and sturdy condition with an age darkened patina that is smattered all over with dark spots and spots of green oxidation. There are two small dings that I could find on the body of the box, and I have taken a close up of each in photos 15& 16. They are really hard to notice. The inside of the box is dirty, so it could use a good cleaning- I have not tried to clean it in any way. One of the lips bends down a little right at the corner- I'm showing you in close up 7. You can see the solder on the the bottom of the box, and running up the edges of the two lipped sides from its making. There's no other issues that I can find- what a cool storage box or decorative box! I took a photo of it next to my stool so you can appreciate the large size. It was too unique and cool to pass up! The bowl is 6 inches diameter across at the top. 4 inches deep and 4 inches diameter on the bottom. The handle is 14” long and has a hook so it can hang. The hand hammered bowl has a large pour spout as well. This ladle is beautifully hand wrought bowl is solid copper and the iron handle. With a hanging hook, is riveted to the bowl with old rivets. This is a brilliant piece of copper crafting and a wonderful item for a country kitchen or a collection of copper utensils. And there is about 4-5 small edge dents on the back side consistent with age. there are some white spots on the back and the front. Back looks to be old polish? Front is in a flower pattern, like it had a design at one time. Handle has some paint loss and edge wear the area around where the handle meets the warmer even has some missing wood pieces. Wonderful Antique Hand Made Copper Pot With Handle 19th Century Wonderful antique handmade copper pot with a handle that I believe is late 19th Century. But it might be earlier. The pot is in very good used condition as seen in the photographs with no major dents or problems. It has dove tailed sides and a bottom as seen in the photographs and the rivets look hand hammered. It is approx. 5" to the top of the rim and approx. 8 1/2" to the top of the handle and 5 1/2" in diameter at the bottom. It is quite heavy and I will give a shipping refund to Canadian and International buyers after shipping if the cost of shipping, tracking and insurance is less than posted. The pot is used and has a patina and discoloration with the most discoloration inside the pot as seen in the picture. It has a few small dents from use as seen in the photographs. It is a handmade pot with old rivets. It is very charming and will add warmth to a kitchen. The pot is approx. 4 3/4" tall and 7 1/2" to the top of the handle and 6" in diameter. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE COPPER LADLE WITH COPPER RIVETED WROUGHT IRON HANDLE
You see this piece as we found it many years ago. It is an antique ladle or dipper hand made from copper with an iron handle riveted to the copper body. We’ve always considered it some sort of ladle because of the spout and the tinned interior indicates that it was used with liquids for human consumption. The ladle is very old but it is impossible to ascertain its’ exact age as the ladle is handmade and bears no maker’s mark. Antique copper seldom is marked. The patina on the iron handle has the“orange peel” texture to the surface that is often found on antique iron. The ladle weighs approximately ½ lb. The copper ladle portion is 3” in height with a base diameter of 2 ¾” The wrought iron handle is approximately 6 ¼” in length and about 3/8” across depending where you measure it. The copper body somewhere in its’ history was ... morepainted black. Over the generations this has worn away from various areas on the piece(see photos) and has long since become part of the surface patina. Given its age as a functional item. It is in good original condition with the usual dings of use wear. The handle is tight and the rivets are secure with no play. The ladle has no holes or repairs. Could be French, there is a large French-Canadian community in Moncton, NB. I did not find any stamps or markings on the piece but believe it to to be an antique, I've had it for over 20 years. Some dove-tailing can be seen, it appears to be made from one sheet of heavyweight copper that was bent and formed into a"rectangular" shape with seams at bottom end/s, top edge is rolled(please take a close look at all photos) DOES NOT hold water, selling for decorative-use only. If you are purchasing to use you will have to have it mended in one corner where there is a crack along the seam. With original patina, I did not try to clean or polish. Nice Small Old Primitive Vintage Hammered Copper Vase Great Patina We took a trip to some unfamiliar shops this weekend and came home with some fabulous items– lots of antiques and uniques for you! I finally got pretty close to the age darkened patina in photo 1 by turning my stool away from the light. Use that photo as your reference. As the others look much lighter to me on my screen than they do to my eyes. It's a wonderful small, older vintage hammered copper vase. Measuring 4" tall, it is 1 7/8" diameter across the mouth, 3" widest at the body ... moreand 1 1/4" diameter across the base. It weighs a smidge under 1/2 lb and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The piece is hammered and really beautiful with a nice dark patina- I'd call it old penny in color. Excellent condition- I found one absolutely itty-bitty teenie rough spot when rubbing my fingers along the top edge- it's too small for me to see, so I took a very close up shot in photo 9- see how small it is? It's not marked that I can see. It's dusty, and could use a good cleaning- I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. ESTATE SALE FIND! Gorgeous pair of primitive hand hammered antique copper strainers with a rich. Deep patina. Handle tapers to a point with a convenient hole for hanging. Larger measures 16 1/4 inches long, the bowl is 4 inches in diameter. Smaller measures 14 1/2 inches long, bowl is 3 1/2 inches diameter. In good condition, no breaks. There is an lovely rustic unevenness to the pieces due to the hand hammering process. Very dark patina and there is a lot of copper loss on the bowls. These were used and loved! Visible in pix#4.
