Up for your consideration is this vintage Hubley Lying Down St. Bernard cast iron doorstop. As you can see from the pictures it is in very good original condition with paint flecks and chips missing from the original paint.This is normal for a doorstop of this age and every day usage. It measures 3& 1/2" wide x 10& 1/2" long and weighs 4 pounds. The two halves of the doorstop are screwed together and the screw has never been touched. It's still sealed with the original paint. The two halves are also stamped with the number 388. I've priced this doorstop at a reasonable starting bid due to the attached article from Worth-Point. That was taken from their discription of a recent sale. Cast Iron Lying Down St.Bernard Doorstop.Up for auction is a very rare and desirable doorstop produced by Hubley manfacturing Co. Here is a very rare cast iron doorstop made by Judd Co. Called Dapper Dan. It measures 8-7/16 inches tall and has a base that is 5 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches deep. It has felt on the bottom which I did not try to take off. The paint has some fading and wear, but overall is exceptional for this rare of a doorstop. His suit is blue, the shrubs are green, and his vest is red and white checked. I understand that these days this doorstop books in the $2,500 range. Winner gets an antique. Circa early 1900's, Hubley cast iron sailing ship door stop with what little remains of it's original paint. This is coming to you from an estate sale in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in it's original condition. There are no cracks, damage, or repairs. Please enlarge the pictures to see the oxidation that has occurred due to it's age. I'm sure it could clean up nice, it's still solid, the oxidation is just surface, but I wanted to leave it in original condition. Featured is an interesting antique Arts and Crafts cast iron door stop or possible book end depicting Columbus or some other European explorer. He has a sword and gun fastened into the belt around his waste and is standing next to what looks like a treasure chest. The figure is 7 1/4 inches tall and the base is 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 inches. It seems to have the original paint which does have some rust and loses as seen in the photos. I cannot find any makers marks but it may be signed somewhere on the piece and is circa late 18th to early 19th century.

This COMPROMISED 100% original antique doorstop is a heavy Cast Iron beauty. Possibly Hubley, found in Lancaster Pennsylvania. The stop is 7” high and 7” across at the widest– wonderful, right as rain patina and softening of the colors- chrome yellow, rose and green. Unfortunately, a flower was broken off in the upper left area. Hubley made many flower pot doorstops and this striped base is familiar. These losses are most pronounced on the tip of the nose and cheeks of the devil and to the edge of the black plate backing of the cup. Pair uncommon ca 1900 cast iron garden / plant ornaments original paint
Frankly. Labeling these two items garden or plant ornaments is merely a guess on my part as to their original purpose(and was the purpose to which they were being applied when found at a local estate sale) Each measures approximately 11 1/2" tall, each weights nearly 2 lbs and each has the look, surface and paint of a turn of the century(ca 1900) cast iron doorstop. Yet clearly they cannot be doorstops since they'd be too easy to knock over and have break. But this much is clear- they are legitimately old, they are cast iron and their enamel paint is wholly original. And, they are to me at least wholly unique. Beyond this I'll have to trow myself at the mercy of potential bidders. In any event, there is no reserve but buyer pays $11 for priority USPS domestic shipping.

For your consideration is a 1930's. cast iron. Hubley Boston Terrier/ Bull Dog Doorstop. Doorstop measures 8" long. Sits 8-7/8"H and is 2-7/8" wide. All original paint, but I don't believe the collar is original although it is very old! The collar is very brittle and worn. For auction is this rare Hubley bulldog. Heavy cast iron doorstop from the 20's or 30's. I'm pretty sure it is Hubley and has old original paint. Untouched. No cracks or any other structural damage. He does have some rust as pictured. No evidence of repair and the finish is age appropriate. Seam is tight and center screw is original. Please use pictures to see how wonderful he is. He is approx. 6-3/8” tall and 9-1/4” long. The patina makes him look so cool. He has that curious look on his face and is facing right. Nice original condition and appropriate ware for age. Antique 19thC Cast Iron Still Bank Bulldog Traces Red & Brown Paint 4 x 5" EC NR
thanks for viewing this Antique Cast Iron Bulldog Figural Still Bank in superior condition. Piece was purchased about thirty(30) years ago. And has a viable provenance, in my opinion) believed as being made around the turn-of-the 19th Century. It has a detailed collar, tucked tail, and'pooch-mouthed' face, with a'muscular' body form. Measurements: 3-1/4" height, by 4-3/4" from nose to tail; width between back hips is 2-3/8" and width between front shoulders is 2-1/4" The coin slit in upper neck is about 1" length, and there are five(5) holes in dog's under-side. Traces of old Red and Brown paint are still present. Patina is great, but with some areas showing rust; primarily to'interior' but a;so has a spot of rust near base of tail. A GOLDENROD cast iron door stop. Made of cast iron during the 1920s. The doorstop has its original paint. The surface is just like you want to see with some minor chipping and good Latina. Illustrated on page 53 in"The Doorstop Book" by John& Nancy Smith. There is wear to the base and high points on flowers and stalks. It is marked on back"HUBLEY- MADE IN U.S.A. 268" The doorstop is about 7 1/8 inches high to top, 5 1/2 inches at its widest point and about 2 3/8 inches deep. There is no damage or breaks. Nice antique cast iron doorstop with fruit in a woven basket. A little different from the standard flowers. This has grapes, a pear, orange, and other stylized fruit. I'm not sure if this is made by Hubley. The base is 5 1/2" wide, stands 5 1/4" tall, and is about 2 1/2" deep. The paint is original, a bit worn, and there are quite a few rust spots, which I think add to the patina. Generally, a pleasing example. this weighs about 5 lb.
