Mid 18th Century Brass Candlestick
This is a very elaborate Queen Anne candlestick. It dates somewhere between 1730 and1760 and has a wonderful patina. The threads are of the course variety found on the earlier period sticks. It is 6 3/4" tall with a 4" octagonal base. It has an unusually large 2 3/4" bobeche. It is in excellent condition. And has a wonderful uncleaned patina. It has three little holes in the bobeche, apparently where someone used to hang it or carry it. See my other listings for additional candlesticks.

Antique Mid 19th Century Bronze / Brass Ottoman Cartridge/Ammunition Case
Offered- A mid 19th century Bronze/ Brass Ottoman Cartridge/ Ammunition Case. The case measures 3 3/4 inches across the top- it is 4 1/2 inches from top to bottom- and is 3/4 inches wide. The case is beautifully incised with a central figure- and bordered on all 4 corners with very stylized Birds(Dragons? and Lions. There is very intricate incising around the border and across the top of the case. The Lid opens and closes on a very sturdy hinge. The back of the case is plain- with a riveted belt of sash loop. This is a beautifully preserved piece- i have not polished it is quite clean with traces of old polish. I would date this piece around 1850/1875. The procedure is basically the same as that used by the Chinese when they first developed the process in the 2nd millennium BC. The Rubber Mold. First the artist creates an original sculpture out of any number of media. Including stone, wax, clay, wood and pottery. This image is coated with a silicone rubber molding material that makes two rubber mold halves(each rubber mold has a front and a back piece) A fiberglass outer shell is added to the back of each mold so it retains its shape and rigidity during subsequent uses. Description: A mid century copper/bronz hand made/hammered and beautifully decorated vase. With a carrying handle, on the bottom it is stamped, hand made in Israel, Oppenheim, and hallmarked. The bottom is not perfectly round, it has a small dent, but is still a rare lovely old vase. Height 25.3 cm. Length 14.2 cm. Bottom diameter 7.2 cm. Weight 267 gr. Mid century TALL Silverplated Leonard Ornate Plant Stand
I am using this as a plant stand in front of my window. It is as found 20 1/2" tall with a 6 1/2" diameter cupped top and a 9" diameter base Marked inside the base EPNS Leonard The inside of the base shows lots of silverplate but someone polished the silver off of most of the exterior of this heavy item making it look like it is a brass item(which it is) but it was at one time covered with silver-plate. It could be re silvered by one of the IL companies by that name, Mid century I think based on the name of the maker and I am thinking at that one time it may have held a glass ashtray in the bowl at the top However the size and depth of the bowl is perfect for a plant holder or to hold a small wine bucket. I have also used it as a high center display on a holiday table to hold a super large candle it is a pretty Brass item with ... moresilver showing in some of the crevices and around the foot A well made sturdy solid item.
