1929 DANISH Sterling Silver Denmark A. Mathieson TEA / COFFEE Set Pot HAND MADE
This auction is for a 1929 DANISH 826 Solid Silver Tea or Coffee set. This set is almost identical to set produced by Grann& Laglye from Denmark listed now for $4950.00 The set is hallmarked for 1929 and the assayer was Sigsgaard with the maker being A. Mathieson. This set is HAND MADE and quite beautiful with a Georg Jensen style Grape or Berry decorating the finial and handles of the set. If you look closely at the close-up photo of the silver. You can see the hammer marks from the maker. The set is 89 years old. Almost antique and is in very good condition with no noticeable dents or damage that I can see(remarkable for such an old smooth body service) and NO monograms- the pieces are as follows: The pot stands approximately 9 1/2 inches in height and has a weight of 650 grams with the lid hinge in good working order The footed creamer ... moremeasures 5 1/4 inches in width from tip of the spout to end of handle and stands 3 1/2 inches in height to the rim with a weight of 162 grams. The footed Sugar Bowl measures just over 7 inches across. To the rim of the bowl approximately 4 inches in height with a weight of 245 grams. Age of this piece is thought to be early 1900s. Mineral deposits inside the pot from use and age. The lid wobbles a bit when lifted. But is firmly attached to the handle. There is a dark strip across the bottom of the pot where a piece of tape may have been. This antique Dallah. Is a traditional pot with a long spout, used to make Arabic coffee. The Dallah a traditional Arabic symbol of welcome as coffee is always served ... moreto guests soon after arrival. Rules of etiquette when serving the cardamom flavored coffee require the host or hostess to personally hand each small cup(finjan) to the guest with the right hand, after pouring the coffee from the pot(dallah) with the left. This antique brass coffee pot has a lightly hammered surface and has a hand stamped maker's mark and a name are engraved in Arabic near the top of the vessel. This is a good sized pot measuring approximately 15" high and 12½" from tip of spout to rear of handle. It is made of brass and appears to be tin plated on the inside. There are coffee stains and mineral deposits on the inside probably from boiling water in it. There is a small dent on the bottom beneath the handle but otherwise just wear normal from handling. The brass has a rich patina of age. The handle has copper rivets holding it to the pot also holding the lid handle on. Up for auction is a VINTAGE COPPER COFFEE POT ON ROD IRON STAND/ NORTHERN CAL. LOGGING CAMP. This item was found in an old redwood logging camp in Northern California. The pot measures 11 1/2 inches tall. It sits on a rod iron stand and the coffee pot sits on it and tips for pouring. I am not sure of the year. We found it in my Uncle's shed with most of his camp items. He was a logger from the 1930's 40's and early 50's. It was cleaned a few years ago. This antique copper coffee pot or kettle is easily 125 years old. No identifying marks: it could be American. But is most likely English. Holds 5 cups if filled to the top rim. So 1 quart with room for boiling water/pouring. Tapered-form copper kettle with gently domed lid still fully water tight: lid is loose, part of hinge is missing but the pot is completely functional and can be displayed without repairing the hinge. Soldering evident in areas is possibly old repairs, possibly original fabrication. Finial has traces of what appears to be black paint: handle was likely painted black as well. May 19 1896 S Sternau & Co Antique Brass Coffee Pot Burner Stand Victorian (596-
This is a piece that has been in our family for numerous years and was purchased from an antique store. It is an antique coffee pot that sits on a burner type stand. We did not keep the paperwork on this particular piece. So please forgive me as I will do my best to describe it. The bottom base is stamped on the bottom in a circle, Patented May 19, 1896. The pieces have a brass type coating to a metal interior. There is a lot of tarnish and exposed metal to it now and base has a hairline crack on one of its sides with a lot of rusting underneath it. The bottom center of stand has a burner in the middle with some hardened material that has always been inside of it and it is covered with a metal netting; note that there are some tears in this metal netting and that the mound inside is hard and lumpy which does not allow the separate circular ... moremetal cover with a handle to sit on it flushly(we have never wanted to remove anything on this since purchasing it) The separate circular cover with wood handle sits over the burner section and the center piece of it will open and close. The coffee pot is light with four total knobs on it to hold it on the stand; it has a small chip in the metal on the bottom of spout opening and it also has a a small dent in upper section. The coffee pot has a wood handle on it and the top knob on lid is also made of wood. The bottom of the coffee pot has a stamp on it that says Trade Mark and then has a logo type design between it that looks like an S& Co that stands for S Sternau& Co. When put together. This stands, with the handle raised, approximately 12 inches tall(9-1/2 inches tall without handle raised) diameter of base is approximately 6 inches. This is something that is definitely very old and does have much tarnish to it but we are hoping that someone who loves antiques will treasure this as much as our family has. Description: Beautiful large handwrought pewter coffee pot with a handle that terminates in a heart at the bottom. Great flowing design. Substantial and well made. Appears to be handwrought, but I am not an expert. Not marked as to maker or country of origin. I always assumed this was late 19th century, along the lines of the Arts and Crafts and turn of the century English designers, but I saw a very similar one in a period film set in the Georgian period, so perhaps it's earlier. I am sure someone on ebay knows. Most of my items are vintage or antique and may have normal wear commensurate with age. Use and materials. I will mention any damage or flaws I see. These vintage coffee pots would make a charming Edition to one's rustic garden or living room decor. The containers have the natural patina that only comes from many years of aging. They would however shin up nicely if one chooses to do so. The measurements are 11" tall. 6.5" across the bottom, 4.5"across opening at the top, with a 8 inch handle. The weight approximately 2.5 pounds each The seems at the bottom are separated and bulging from being left out doors in winter time. Pots do not hold water. This is not necessarily a deficit if used for live plants as they will only retain a small amount of water in the very bottom of the pot. I think a cactus would look wonderful in each one. Antique early Roswell Gleason American pewter coffee pot 19th c damage as found
A 19th century pewter coffee pot by Roswell Gleason. Dorchester Mass. for restoration or display as is. It measures approximately 10.25" tall to the tip of the handle. There is significant damage and corrosion. Please view the images to see the multiple holes- I counted at least nine. Four or five of the holes are up near the top. And are partial hidden under the overhang. Other corrosion is to the middle and bottom of the body. The black paint has almost completely worn off from the wooden handle. The mark on the bottom is"4000 Roswell Gleason 5" The wooden finial on top spins and is loose, but intact. Antique teapot/coffee pot made in Norway and hand forged by Volund Hamar. Marked 3 Volund Hamar on the handle. The tea kettle has the usual amount of small dings and dents from may years of use. Handle swings. Secured with rivets. Bottom is blackened from use. There seems to be lacquer of some sort on the pot which I think can be removed. Measures approximately 7 1/2" tall(bottom of pot to top of lid x 8" in diameter x about 10" high with handle up from the bottom.

HUGE Antique COPPER& BRASS DUPARQUET NEW YORK Tea Coffee Urn SAMOVAR Pot Pan Offered for sale is this huge antique Duparquet. Huot, Moneuse& Co copper and brass urn. The patent date on the brass plaque on the front is 1882. It is complete with the tinned inserts, which look like they are for tea, vast amounts of tea. It is lined with porcelain. The glass level indicators are both intact. It is extremely well made, more like a piece of engineering than kitchen ware, look at the quality of the brass fixtures in the close up pictures. I am happy to do local pickup on this piece because of the size and weight. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: It is huge. It weighs 38 pounds(17Kg) and is approximately 28.5 inches tall. The lid is just over 10.75 inches diameter. That is a full size can of Coca Cola underneath the urn ... morein one of the pictures. To give a sense of scale. CONDITION: It is in as found condition. I have not cleaned it. If it was to be polished I suspect it would look stunning. There is no damage to the glass in either level indicator, and no chips or cracks to the porcelain liner.
