Antique Philadelphia Thomas Byles American pewter muffineer 18th century
This early American pewter muffineer is 5 inches tall. We are attributing it to Thomas Byles. Who was active in Philadelphia from 1738 to 1771. The piece is hallmarked on the bottom. The mark is slightly different than the mark used on larger pieces but due to the confined space, the mark may have been modified. Please judge for yourself. There are some small dents especially around the lower part of the body. Delivery and signature confirmation is included in the shipping cost. Froo www.froo.com | Froo Cross Sell. FINE ANTIQUE CONTINENTAL PEWTER HANDLED PUNCHBOWL 18TH CENTURY GERMAN ? DUTCH ?
Rare Antique Continental Pewter Punchbowl I am not really a pewter dealer. But I believe this old punch bowl is a very unusual form. I think it is beautiful, well designed and finely finished. I believe it is an early 18th century style, and could very well be of the period. Collectors and pewter dealers here on eBay will be able to determine the age from my photos, I am sure. The family had used this bowl as a centerpiece, there was a flower frog attached with clay in the bottom when I got it. The water has oxidized and scaled the interior somewhat, but the condition is otherwise excellent. This large bowl easily holds a gallon of punch. The hallmarks are the angel Michael with sword over a demon with the initials P I S the crowned rose mark appears to also have the I S on the clear right side of the touch. I assume a"P" would ... morebe on the missing left side. These may be maker or regional marks.I am not familiar with pewter marks. Something has been scratched out as my photos show.presumably a previous owner's name or inventory. HEIGHT 6 inches( 15.2 cm) DIAMETER approx 11 inches( 28 cm) I sell most of my items on eBay with a reasonable reserve. Often at my cost, and always less than what I would expect the item to sell for. Very careful packaging is part of my shipping cost to anywhere in the continental USA or elsewhere. If you desire to have your purchased insured. I am happy to do so if you request it, but that would be at your cost. International buyers should contact me for shipping costs before final payment is made. Please feel free to email me if you need additional information or images. Good Luck! Please Click Below To
Antique 18th Century John Jupe Large Pewter Charge English Signed
Early 18th Century Pewter Charger Old estate find from the home of a collector. This is a nice 18th Century Pewter Piece. It was made by John Jupe(1737-1760) in London. It is marked on the back with a touchmark of a rose with a Fleur-de-lis and IOHN above, IUPE below with curved reserves and a palm frond to either side on the underside of the rim. The secondary mark is a rose with crown, above that it says MADE IN and below it should say LONDON, but the London is hard to make out. There is a quality mark of an X with a crown above that is stamped on the underside of the rim between the two marks. The charger has a hook on the back for hanging. It is in good antique condition with a dark ring mark near the bottom and some tarnish on the left rim and a little rough spot. I have not tried to clean it. The charger measures 16.5" across. ... moreNice Early Antique English Signed Pewter Piece. Great antique collectible. thanks for looking. Please email with any questions. The items that I sell are primitives/antiques/vintage items that I find and would buy for myself. I try to describe each item as well as I can but I am not an expert. I sell on ebay for fun and enjoy the people I meet here. I do not leave negative feedback and hope that if you are not happy with an item that we can work out any problems.
Antique Pewter Spoons (2) 19th Century - Ornate, Soldered, Pressed Royalty
Pair of antique decorative spoons are a bit of a puzzle. Very ornate these spoons are believed to be 19th century. The pewter is pressed. With the handles in the shapes of what appears to be English royalty, a man and a woman, and they bear a striking resemblance to King George III and his Queen Charlotte, but I have not been able to verify this through research. I have found none other like them. There are no crests or similar markings on the back of the bowl on the spoon, but there are a pair of initials as follows: A- K- and there is the number 1750 below the initials. From what I have found, the initials could possibly be the pewterer's mark, but more than likely are the initials of the owners. The number 1750 does not appear to be a date, but probably a catalog number or the like. The handles are soldered to the spoons. The pressed ... morespoons appear to be identical, so they were probably machined and not hand crafted. Spoons are 7 1/2" from top to bottom, and the spoon size is approximately that of a modern day serving spoon. These were inherited, but did not come with the information on origin. These will be insured for shipping. There have been two(2) verbal appraisals obtained on these, one in 1982, when they were valued at $75.00 apiece, and one in 2002, where they were valued at $150.00 apiece.

Large antique handwrought antique pewter coffee pot American? 18/19th century
Description: Beautiful large handwrought pewter coffee pot with a handle that terminates in a heart at the bottom. Great flowing design. Substantial and well made. Appears to be handwrought, but I am not an expert. Not marked as to maker or country of origin. I always assumed this was late 19th century, along the lines of the Arts and Crafts and turn of the century English designers, but I saw a very similar one in a period film set in the Georgian period, so perhaps it's earlier. I am sure someone on ebay knows. Most of my items are vintage or antique and may have normal wear commensurate with age. Use and materials. I will mention any damage or flaws I see. Please review the pictures; they are an important part of the description. Please email me if you have any questions. Payment: Payment is due within 3 days of auction’s end. Paypal ... moreonly. Shipping: US shipping via USPS standard post due to weight; includes tracking/delivery confirmation. I ship within 3 business days(usually within a day) after payment is received. Please remember that I cannot control the transit time after the package is delivered to the post office. International shipping(Europe and Japan) please contact me for costs. Shipping to Canada is somewhat less. So please wait for me to send an invoice before paying. Any customs fees, duties or taxes that may be imposed by the recipient country are not in my control and are the responsibility of the buyer. Returns: Please contact me before leaving feedback if there are any problems. I accept returns on most items. But ask that you email me on receipt or within a few days of delivery. PLEASE NOTE: I do not issue partial refunds(damage or otherwise) Thank you!

Antique15th century Repousse Pewter Plate with Crowned hedgehog and Fleur de Lys
RARE Old heavy Repousse Pewter Plate with Crowned Hedgehog and Fleur de Lys pattern in background all around the plate. The pewter plate has both the European CROWN& ROSETTE Quality Mark plus the ANGEL. Commonly used as a Quality Mark in France and the European countries. The piece has some blemishes but is in beautiful condition for its age. The HEDGEHOG with CROWN was the personal emblem of Louis XII. This piece could have been part of the Royal household pewter plate of LOUIS XII when he occupied the Loire Valley. Louis XII became king in 1498 he moved the entire royal residence to the Chateau de Blois. Joan of Arc stopped by to say hi in 1429, on her way to rescue Orléans from the English) rebuilding much of the castle and leaving his mark everywhere: what's fun about this is that Louis XII was the Hedgehog King, so the whole ... moreplace is covered in cute little crown-wearing hedgehogs. The fascinating bit about this particular plate is that it has the initials H V on the top right hand side of the ribbon from the crown. What or do these initials stand for. Is the V supposed to be II? I haven't been able yet to find the story behind the initials. approx. 23 cm across:RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp73%28e013%3F%3E%3A-14455b55800-0x103-

Antique 18th? Century Pewter Salt
This small item is Pewter and is in the shape. Design and function similar to a sterling one that I have that dates to 1720, the sterling one(not for sale) was made by Georg Leonhard Fern in Nuremburg GE and has been dated to 1720's. Thus I believe this to be a early 18th century pewter salt or continental design. It is hallmarked with what looks like an angel holding a scales or something. It is as found. 2 1/4" x 2" dia at top stands about 1 1/4" tall shipping is an estimate for the system and actual may be less once item is packed and weighed for your zip code. If I have overestimated by more than $1 I will be glad to post a refund to your pmt method.

18th Century Dutch-Netherlands-Pewter Wedding Spoon, 1700-1850-No Reserve
This is a straight auction with no hidden reserve. This is a pewter spoon from Holland. Topped with two figures, a man and a woman, in what appears to be European fine clothing, Beneath them is a winged figure in a square. With the initials, L.L.R. just below that figure, and within the square. Underneath that is an arrangement of figures. Difficult to make out, but including a bird. The item is cast from a mold. It is lead-colored. But not heavy for its size, so I assume it is pewter. It has no visible hallmarks. It weighs 65 grams. Or 2.3 ounces. It is approximately 7 inches long. The bowl is approximately 2 inches across. I list a 2-day turnaround time due to severe Midwestern weather. But you can generally expect that I will ship your item during the first 24 hours after payment.

Antique 18th century LG ?Stuffing Serving Spoon Pewter Crowned Shield 4 lions
I am not a pewter expert and the information on the internet is not easy to research. I believe this to be English and 18th century. I base this on my better knowledge of antique silver and styles of spoons. This looks to be the Hanoverian pattern. Which according to the net, dates from about 1710+. This looks to have been a utilitarian LARGE serving spoon, perhaps used on a ship or other place where large numbers of people were served. It shows dings on the sides of the handle from prior use. It looks like(pic 3) that it has been spot repaired in the past where you can still see the remnants of an old crack. A nice clean silvery spoon of unknown hallmark and history that would be a nice addition to a display of antique pewter. Hallmark looks to be a crowned shield with 4 lions walking left in the upper part of the shield. I can't tell ... morewhat is below the lions in the shield. Below the shield looks like HIS. MU or MII 15" long bowl 3" x 4 1/2" Heavy approx 17.4 oz. Thick gauge metal. Shipping estimate is for continental USA(HI and AK and foreign orders can be more)

Early 19th Century Pewter Mustard Pot Early 19th Century Pewter Mustard Pot Half-Fluted Body on Square Base High-Domed lid with similar fluting to the body. Small knob and shell thumb-piece Typically hinged to the French-provincial 19th century. c. 1820 Provincial. What is Pewter? Over time most metals will oxidize. Silver and Brass will develop a patina with age that is often deliberately left untouched on antique objects. We have deliberately oxidized our objects before polishing them so as to provide contrast and enhance the detail. Also to give them a faux"antique" look. In mediaeval days. Pewter was often coated with beeswax to keep it shiny. We do not recommend using abrasive compounds such as"Silvo" or"Brasso" to shine pewter, as these cleaners contain acid and will reduce the detail. Also the acid in ... morethem will cause a reaction with the metal. Rather you should use soap and water, then a gentle rub with a soft cloth will restore the shine. If you are really worried about the appearance, Turpentine works wonders when applied with a soft cloth. Pewter items were around in Ancient Rome and Egypt: as broken items were always recycled. Not many objects have survived to come down to us. In Mediaeval days, pewter was a luxury item. Pewter- In the Tudor and Stuart periods pewter continued its' popularity. Pewter's"golden age" was 1650 to 1720. In this period styles found their most perfect forms. The 18th century saw pewter's popularity decline. People wanted a lighter and prettier material. A much less heavy form of pewter was invented in Sheffield. This was called Britannia metal which became popular in the last quarter of the 18th century and was still popular well into the Victorian period. But the long march of porcelain was irresistible. Pretty. Dainty porcelain was in vogue and pewter became banished to the taverns. It was still being used in British pubs as late as the 1930's. Pewter was much used in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods and is still b
