This tin came out of a small town Country Store. It must have been a bulk container just used in the store. All of the paint that is on it is original. The lid opens like a roll top desk. It works fine. There is some small repair that is needed on the lip that you use to open the lid. The lid has some dents in it but could be easily removed. The rest of the tin is in very good condition with no dents. Holes or separations. This tin could be cleaned up and left original or restored back to perfect condition. The tin is 26" high, 19" wide and 22" deep. The inside lid is marked Henry Troemner Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Maker. This would be a unique addition to your home and a great conversation piece. Spoons such as this are often referred to as'tasting spoons' as they were meant for just that. The bowl of the piece would have been inserted in to a kettle. Iron pot or other hearth cooking device to sample the ingredients cooking therein. The hearth attendant would then vary the recipe they were creating by adding various dried herbs, mortar ground salt or pepper pods, etc. As you can see this example has a deeper ladle, which suggests it was also for serving. As you can see the blacksmith who created this piece worked in a fine overall form with a twist to the handle. Nice smaller size. Antique late 19th century hand made brass folding letter holder
This is a late 19th century folding letter carrier. It is brass with hand hammered designs. It has"Austria" marked on back edge. I come from England and it has been in my family for ever. We have not cleaned it so it has its own original patina and looks very good. The bottom tray opens to reveal three sections for stamps. I have shown the underside and it is marked D.R.G.M. 237670 which is the German patent number and GES.GESCH(gesetzlich geschutzt) which mean protected by law. ANTIQUE FRENCH STYLE ENAMEL CUSPIDOR / FLOWER VASE-SIGNED-LATE 19th CENTURY
This pretty enamel piece measures 7" 17.8 cm) in height. 7" in diameter at the mouth and 5 1/4" 13.4 cm) in diameter at the base. For a piece of enamel the condition is pristine. It is a pretty, deeper blue, with hand-painted in gold rose with bud designs, a 1 inch band encircling the top, and 10 smaller thin bands. There are two sets of initials on one side between the main designs, and a five letter mark opposite the initials. All the marks are made with a stippling design. The interior and exterior are pretty much perfect. There are few tiny places under the upper rim and on the base rim where there is loss of enamel. It was probably made for use as a cuspidor, It would also make a great flower vase. The provenance of the piece explains it's great condition. I purchased it from a dealer who was featured on the cover ... morewith an article in the 1990s"Country Living" in Adamstown, Pennsylvania. He had inherited a warehouse of unused enamel from his grandparents, who had purchased a large amount of enamel pieces in the early 1900s to open a shop, but never did. As a result, the enamelware sat undisturbed for many decades. Although I do not know the origin of the piece, the lettering of the marks just it could be Czechoslovakian, Hungarian or Romanian. Lovely Victorian-era slipper box with splendid repousse brass ornamentation over wood on three sides and top. The brass lid has the word"Slippers" embossed diagonally and is flanked by two very English lions; the sides has a lovely swirl pattern. Hinting at the Art Nouveau movement to come. The bottom, back side and inside lid are black tin over wood and the inside of the box is lined with faux leather paper. New Orleans antique late 19th or early 20th century decorative brass hook?
Up for bid is an unusual item made of what I think is brass. I took it off a bathroom door from a house in New Orleans that was built circa 1890. I'm not sure if this was actually a hook when it first started out because it doesn't slant up. But slightly down. I believe the part of the house I was working on was an addition put on later, possibly as late as the Depression and they salvaged this item because it resembled a hook. If anyone knows what this is I would welcome the information. It was painted over several times and still has some residual paint on it. Bidding starts at $15.00. S&H is $5.00.

This stunning metal sculpture by noted French artist Emile Bruchon is a powerful interpretation of a female figure admiring a rainbow in the distance. The woman’s body is casually draped in a loose filmy dress with arms and legs exposed. Although quite aged with many areas of exposed metal. A brown bronzed patina covers most of the figure and base. Antique French Cherubs Candle Holder Magnificent French 19 th Century bronze casting portraying two cherubs holding a large basket. Despite missing its glass globe. The ensemble is a superb example of early candle holders used as table or mantle center pieces. The piece is about 7¾” high. And 7” by 3” at its widest. The cherub figures. Which measure about 5½” tall, are nicely detailed. With notably very expressive faces. The base is superbly crafted and decorated with scrolls. At a time when bronze was very expensive, it was only the more well to do families who could afford such a luxurious item. A Wikipedia history of Shoehorns: Shoehorns appear to have originated in the late Middle Ages or Renaissance; in English a"schoying horne" is mentioned in the 15th century. Though the French word chausse-pied is only found during the last half of the 16th century. Elizabeth I of England bought 18 shoe horns from her shoemaker Garrett Johnson between 1563 and 1566, then in 1567 ordered four more in steel from the blacksmiths Gilbert Polson and Richard Jeffrey, and then needed no more until 1586. Presumably these were used by many people in her household. A group of at least 20 known English shoe horns are all signed and dated. To between 1593 and 1613, and made by one Robert Mindum. Offered for sale is a wonderful primitive tinware mold in the shape of a women's shoe. Found in Schoharie County. NY some years ago. Shoe measures 7 inches in length, and has a soft old patina. I see only one old very tiny pinhead sized dent on the edge of the heel bottom. A unique piece of tinware.

antique late 1800's to early 1900's Brass Spirit KETTLE. 12 3/4" high. 8 1/2" from spout to back of kettle, 7 1/4" wide. Unmarked, except for a social insurance number on base of kettle. The kettle is ever so slightly indented where the knobs extend to rest in the risers, front, both sides. Nothing that can't be put right in a jiffy by someone who is experienced in metal work. Other than that, in excellent condition. Nice naturally aged patinas. The handles are all blackened wood. A beautiful Victorian spirit kettle.
