The blade on the back is 8" long. All the features including the face. Muscles, and the tail, are well defined/carved. The patina and the old flaking paint suggests that it's a very old piece. Here's an"old boy" who has seen many years go by! He's quite heavy at 11 pounds. Just a great antique door stop in the form of one of the world's favorite dog breeds. The loyal English Setter. He is known for his prowess while"pointing" in the field, but friendly and loyal around the kids. Okay I won't get carried away, after all we are talking about 11 pounds of cast iron! Large Antique Cast Iron Standing Cat Doorstop Kitty Door Stop
Up for bids is a large solid cast iron doorstop in the likeness of a sittng cat finished with a black colored paint as pictured. I have seen these doorstops being advertised as being made by Hubley but I don't no for sure if that's who made them. It stands 12 1/4" high to the top of the ear and is 7 1/2" long across the front of the base by 2 3/4" deep from front to back. It is in nice condition with no chips or cracks to the cast iron but has some wear to the paint. There is a small bubble in the casting on the left leg made during the casting as seen in the last picture. Otherwise a very nice old cast iron piece with lots of character. I know nothing about this except I bought it at an estate sale where most of the items were from the 40's and 50's It has no markings that I can see. I even took it apart to see if there were some inside. weighs 8 pounds 10 ounces. I tried to get as many angles as possible in the pictures. This piece weighs just over 4-3/4 lbs. Measures 10-1/2" wide. 11-1/2" tall and 3" deep. There are a few light scuffs and blemishes, as it apparently has some age to it. There is some nice detail in the ship as you can see in the photos. Antique Cast Iron Ship Door Stop Columbus' Ship? No Makers Mark Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Check out this beautiful cast iron doorstop. This is a nicely made doorstop and would be a great decoration in your home or as an addition to your collection. This piece was recently picked up at an auction. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! The ship has a gold copperish looking finish on the front. At first I thought it might be a rendering of Columbus's ship. But at the top of the second mast is a skull and crossbones flag. One of the larger sails has a lion on it, another a moon sliver circled by stars and one with a crown and crossed swords below it. The ship also has cannon portholes on the side of it. The three legs have what appear to be fish heads at their ends. The ship is sailing ... morein a wavy sea below it. Just below the waves is some detailing with an anchor at the bottom and then two crabs moving along the side. The doorstop appears to be intact. I see not cracked. Repaired or missing pieces. The doorstop is 11" tall. 11-5/8" long, and about 6.5" wide. In Hubley country here with Lancaster, PA so close by, but do not see any maker's mark on this piece. The doorstop's seams are tight and the screw is not coming out any time soon that holds the piece together. Make sure that this item meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned. But there is a $25 restocking fee to do so. So again. This is an extremely rare large solid cast iron early 1900's nude female statue and stylized version of the birth Venus. The piece is made from solid cast iron and extremely heavy It has a white painted finish. And at the indents of the detailing have nice aged iron look beautifully showing through. She is depicted completely nude. With a very curvy physique, wonderful stretching/ hands in hair pose. The hair has very intricate detailing. she stands on a half shell which is very dimensional and ornate. Underneath is a detailed rock base with a circular base underneath. the piece is in good shape and measures 17 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
