There is also a 45 3/4" long x 1/4" wide slot, 1/4" from the back edge of the top which I assume is for a back splash(not included) The side and front edges have an ogee detail, it is drilled out for an 8" center faucet(not included) and the oval sink cutout measures 18 1/8" wide x 14 1/2" deep. The counter top is marked on the bottom" ID SURFACE? and THIS SIDE DOWN" When you look at the bottom you can see the color goes all the way through. The sink is an under mount, American Standard in white, measures about 23" wide x 18" front to back, and is 7 1/2" deep to bottom of drain. This comes with the mounting screws and brackets shown, no drain hook-ups, see pictures for detail, there is a chip out of the under side of the sink but is not noticeable from the top nor does it effect the stability of the unit. The sink and counter top weigh aver 60#s. The legs are a polished cast brass and come with the screws for mounting it to the under side of the console. They weig h about 13#s apiece. These have some scuffing and will need to be polished out. The apron is in great c ondition. It isn't as scuffed as the legs. This part weighs nearly 6#s. See all pictures for condition detail. The front apron measure 25 7/8" long x 3 3/4" high. this also has the 4 mounting screws. A beautiful focal point piece for any new build or remodeling project. Old Antique Heavy Cast Lead, Bronze or Brass Wash Horse Figure Doorstop Bookend
Here's an interesting old or antique mystery item we don't know too much about. It is clearly very old and has acquired a very nice darkened aged appearance. Our best guess is that this is a doorstop and less likely but possibly was a bookend. It is made of thickly casted metal we think is probably lead or a lead alloy with a bronze or brass finish. ANTIQUE CAST BRASS STANDING TRIVET ~ c. 1800
You see this handsome old trivet as we found it. This is a trivet for the collector. It is cast brass and is 4 7/8” in height. The rectangular reticulated top measures approximately 9 1/2” x 7 3/4” and it weighs 4 lbs. The handle measures approximately 4 1/2” The trivets’ legs and handle were cast separately from the top. As it is almost always the case. The trivet bears no maker’s mark. While it is possible that the trivet is American, it is much more likely that it is English. When this trivet was in use most of the brassware in America was English made. This trivet can be dated by its’ legs. It was made in the late 18th or very early 19th centuries. We think c. 1800 is appropriate here. A dated trivet with virtually identical legs and feet can be viewed in Schiffer’s“The BRASS BOOK– American. English and European Fifteenth Century through ... more1850” Schiffer Publishing 1978) on page 405, pl. B. As we mentioned. We are selling the trivet as found. All things being, equal we consider it to be in basically good overall condition for a functional item over 200 years old. It is actually fortunate that it has survived. Much of the antique brass& kitchen copper disappeared into the patriotic war scrap drives of the 19th and 20th centuries. This being especially true during World Wars I and II. The trivet is slightly concave which is common to older antique trivets and it is due to years of supporting heavy pots, etc. This causes the legs to be slightly splayed. Two of the legs have play to them although the trivet still functions well. We do see evidence of small hammer marks to the four corners of the top where someone in the trivets history has sought to tighten the legs. Other than the above we see no repairs to the piece. It is still a handsome item and displays well. The top sports an attractive geometric design and the brass handle is an especially nice feature as handles are more often found to be of wood or iron on old trivets. Antique Cast Brass/Bronze Red Monkey Statue Hindu
This is an unusual cast statue. Probably brass or bronze with various mixtures of alloys. It has a distinct red color that may be painted on or fired, or it may be a wax coating added after firing. It features a standing pointed-head and pointed-ear monkey, knees bent, holding a pointed shaped item downward, with a circular ring at the top. The monkey's tail is looped back and attaches to his back, and could be used as a handle for pouring. The base is heart shaped. It is 9.5" tall and weighs 3.5 lbs, so it is a solid, heavy piece. it is finely cast, with nice detail throughout, especially in the lines that represent the monkey's fur. Vintage/Antique Cast BRASS MOUSE HOLDING UP LEAF, Votive Candle Holder? Exc Cond
At first. I assumed this mouse was cast iron but after inspecting the bottom of the tail, I saw tiny places where the patina has come off(4th photo) and brass shows through. This mouse is holding up a leaf that is flat and level enough to hold a votive candle. I don't know if that is its intended used and there is no sign it has been used that way, but I can't think what else it might be. There are other brass mice with leaves that were intended as candle holders, so I think it is a good guess. The patina is green, white and black. It measures about 3 5/8" tall. The leaf is about 4 5/8" long and 3 1/2" wide and it is the longest and widest part of this piece. It is in excellent condition. Check out my other items! Antique English Figural Cast Brass Nutcracker - Rd. No. For 1909
A characterful and unusual Edwardian nutcracker. Of a man, almost cartoon like. At first I thought it was Mr. Magoo but he wasn't invented until the late 1940's so clearly not. The cast brass figure stands on a support at the back and the upper leaver is used to crack nuts in the mouth of the character. The support at the back has the English design registration number 544813, allowing us to date it accurately to 1909. Quite wonderful and charming, in excellent condition. 7 3/4" tall x 4 3/4" wide. Fabulous pair of rare antique sand cast brass Mythical Dolphin candlesticks. These beauties have incredible detail and the bases are seashells. Wow! Sand-casting brass is a very arduous process. Each item casted requires a new mold as every mold is destroyed in the process of casting. They use a master mold to create a mold in sand. The molten brass is poured in the sand mold and after cooling the sand mold is broken away. They are 5 3/4" high. I am going through boxes in my storage barn and finding more items all the time. I have collected for over 50 years and really need to start weeding things out. We are empty nesters. And love to travel, go to estate sales, consignment shops and antiquing. Pair of fabulous Punch and Judy brass Bookends/Door Stops. English. Late 1800's early 1900's. They are made of brass and are very solid and heavy. Punch and Judy are well known characters in folklore and popular culture with origins dating back to the 1300's. In the Commedia dell'Arte brought by troups of actors from Italy to the rest of Europe. The Italian storybook figure of Pulcinella was transformed into Mr Punch in England. He was joined by a wife"Judy" and by 1700 the Punch and Judy show had become and English tradition. Mr Punch measures approx 11" x 9" x 3 1/2"d. Judy measures approx. 11" x 8 1/4" x 3 1/4"d. I say possibly because this item has been identified by another seller and I am still researching to authenticate. However, it is antique and it is gilded cast iron and does have the series number on the back. Early 1900's Middle Eastern design Camel with hooks for towels. Clothes, keys, leashes, belts or ties. This piece is meant to be wall mounted. See open circle at the top of the camel's saddle. Piece is heavy duty and very sturdy. Antique Vintage Cast Iron And Brass Cherub Plant Stand
A lovely antique or vintage plant stand. I think it could be late Victorian but I'm not sure. It's very old. The base has beautiful detailed work and the cherub is just adorable and the brass bowl on top is very nicely done. It's in good shape a little pitting as shone in the pictures. I think is normal wear for something this old. He measures 16 inches high and the bowl on top is just the right size for a small plant. The brass bowl measures 5 x 5 1/2 inches. Especially Poland and Russia, because they had large quantities of the raw material. England and France made hollow sticks molded from sheets of brass in technically sophisticated styles. By the second half of the 19th C. Eastern Europe had this ability also. We date these candlesticks 1830 to 1850. The origin of the design was most likely Spain.
