Antique Brass Arts & Crafts era Tankard with faux Horn Handle
Offered- A nice American Arts and Crafts era Brass Tankard with a faux Antler Handle. The Tankard stands 5 inches high. The diameter at the bottom measures 3 3/4 inches tapering to 3 inches at the top. The handle resembles Antler. It is made from some type of composite- I am not sure what- but I have seen this on numerous Arts and Crafts pieces. The handle is fixed at the top and bottom on shield-type emblems- There is also a shield on the front of the Tankard. The brass is in good condition- there are a couple of minor dents- commensurate with the tankards age. I would date this piece at 1910/1920. Antique Hand forged Arts& Crafts Mission Style Hammered Copper hanging Candle/ Salt Box. This is very old. Made at the turn of the Century. This has been in my family since it was expertly hand forged. When you hold it and examine it one can get a sense of its age and history. It measures 6" across by 5.5" tall and 3" deep, The copper is a thick heavier weight so it is not a flimsy piece. The color is superb, a deep rich patina that only can be acquired by the slow passing of time. It has a rustic hand made one of a kind appeal, the hammer marks are larger than average, it has three graduated raised lines across front which adds to its visual appeal. Condition for its advanced age is excellent, there are no cracks, breaks or weak spots. Stunning Moorcroft Arts and Crafts piece circa 1918-1935. Pomegranate pattern shallow bowl(Approx 7 1/2 inches across) on approx 8 inch sterling silver pedestal. The silver work is extraordinary and typical of the Arts and Crafts movement. The weighted base is almost 4 1/2 inches in diameter.It has a condition issue. There is a hairline crack across one side. They are a matching pair of heavy wrought iron candle holders with scrolls and dimples with Green Verdigris over a copper wash. Magnet sticks to them. Arts& Crafts era and detailing. Measures 9 1/2" tall. No makers marks that I can see. But these were done by a skilled artisan. They are in good condition. One could use a little rebending to make it stand correctly on all four scroll feet. Hammered detailing and with dimples on the top buds that hold the candle. Antique Vase - decorated bronze, Smith Metal Arts Co, Arts & Crafts movement
I have posted a vintage. Bronze and brass vase made by the Smith Metal Arts Company made sometime in 1919-1925( The vase was formed in bronze with an applied, not soldered, floral design in brass. The impressed mark on the bottom reads: 2039. Silver Crest was the trademark used by the Smith Metal Arts Company that was formed by Frederick Smith around 1919. After the death of master craftsman and patent holder, Otto Heintz. The hallmark featured on the bottom of the vase is the traditional"Silver Crest Decorated Bronze" with an early. Minuscule Smith Metal Arts Company logo in the center. There is one small. Shallow dent on the right side of the floral brass pattern about 7 inches from the bottom, as shown in the last photo. Please scroll down the page to see more pictures.You get the pair. The vase has the heintz logo and sterling on bronze with the 1912 patent date and is also numbered 3604 A. It is 8 1/4" tall. 4" wide at the base and has some dents and scratches. The candle holder is the rare one. It is 5 3/4" tall by 4 1/2" diameter at the bottom. In the very center of the bottom it looks like it might have been partially hallmarked but you can't make it out. It does not look like the Heintz logo. This one also has scratches and dents. This item is a Antique Heintz Sterling On Bronze Bud Vase 5" tall and marked on bottom with their mark and Pat dated of Aug 27th 1912, Has some dings along the bottom edge and some green patina around the mouth of vase so a good polishing would help.Nice old Arts& Crafts Piece.
