Antique umbrella stand bamboo with cast iron drip plate- World War 2 era - nice
Antique bamboo umbrella stand with cast iron drip plate. This is the real thing not a reproduction. Probably from the 1940's-1950's. Cou ld be older. That is my best guess. Bamboo has the tortoise shell look with wooden turned finials and chains on each side. It is not in perfect condition and needs a good cleaning. Very usable and decorative for that special little spot. Stands about 32" tall and the triangle shape is about 14" on each side. Weight is about 9 pounds. Most of it being the cast iron dri p plate. Giant antique cast iron Basket of Fruit Doorstop/weighs 20 POUNDS/16&1/2" high
I don't think they get any bigger or heavier than this. A 1920s or so. Painted cast iron doorstop in the form of a basket of fruit. It is 16&1/2" high and it weighs 20 POUNDS. I don't see a maker's mark but I am sure it was made by a well-known foundry. Condition is as found and as shown. Shows surface rust which I think might clean off with a fine steel wool. Some paint loss and the paint is a bit dull- I think once cleaned, it will brighten up. Please look at all of my photos for the best idea of condition. I received this lot from an estate inheritance. It is a Lot of 2 Vintage Cast Iron Metal Figurine Dogs. One is a Pointer/ Setter& I think the other is a Bulldog. They show normal signs of wear and tear for age and being cast iron but are in good condition overall. They would make a great edition to any collection and are adorable. The differences are that one is a bit larger and the other has a perforated design. The larger candle holder measures approx. 5 ½ inches long x 3 inches wide x 1 1/4 inches high. The smaller candle holder measures approx. 5 ½ inches long x 2 7/8 inches wide x 1 1/8 inches high. The smaller holder also has 6 perforations or holes as part of the design. The foundry is unknown. However, they both have the“LVL” mark impressed on the bottom along with“PAT. and either the numbers“224” smaller holder) or“12224” larger holder) The colors are subdued and as can be seen in the photos, there is paint chipping and areas where th e paint is worn. This is an old cast iron lighthouse doorstop my parents had lying around. It measures 9 1/2 inches tall by 8 1/8 inches wide and weighs a little over 2lbs. Marked on the bottom B& H and mold number 3572. All original paint and decoration. No repainting, touch-ups or repairs. Beautiful reticulated Victorian design with scrollwork, impeccable workmanship. Some wear to the gilt as seen in the photos. The inside has small areas of discoloration. Bradley and Hubbard of Meriden. Conn. was a premier manufacturer of metal accessories from 1852 into 1940s.
