When the piece was purchased. The metalsmith polished off the tin with a buffer wheel. Traces of the tin are left behind on the etchings and crevices. This enhances the definitions of the engravings and provides a beautiful contrast and exotic patina. Please refer to photos. A couple of small areas on the lower portion of the pot appear to have been patched. This is not uncommon for a piece of this age. The interior of the pot appears to have been lined or coated with something that has partially come off. The lid is hinged and has a latch that can be locked or secured I am not sure of the original purpose of this piece or what is was called. An item of this quality is rare and hard to find. I believe it adds to the magic of it's history and the many kitchens it has traveled to. I can only imagine the stories that were told as the pot was continually filled. The kettle definitely shows it has been used a lot but it would make a great decor piece for that primitive decor. To find such love in a teapot of this age is rare. I love it but the new owner may wish to clean the bottom, as the photos show I have not cleaned it as each owner has their own style and wishes as to products they prefer. The kettle measures 10 1/2 inches wide and 15 inches wide if you include the spout. The kettle measures 11 inches from the base to the top of the lid and 14 inches to the top of the handle. The wooden handle measures 4 1/2 inches and the metal of the handle looks forged. The handle measures 9 inches wide. The spout is 6 1/2 inches long and is goose neck style. The lid measures 5 inches across. At the base of the handle there are the letters"GS" I do not know what this stands for? Any info on this would be appreciated. Well used English Copper One Half Gallon Jug This shape is called a Harvester measure. Made of solid copper body with a hollow handle. These were made in England in this same design since 1780. This one has the lead capacity seal on the side of the lip and is marked for the reign of George V, GR and a Crown within a diamond) dating it from 1910 to 1935. These are sometime found together with other similar jugs in varying measurement sizes. Along with the lead capacity mark they were also engraved on the front with the capacity size. This one is engraved 1/2 Gallon. It's been well used over many years and has some dents ... morealong the lower part. We don't see these as a detriment, though, we think it adds character. Certainly still handsome and in good order, still holds water, no leaks. We've given it a light cleaning and polishing. Size" 10" high- 7" across the base- Weighs 3lbs. A no reserve auction for a very nice. Complete antique copper rooster weathervane. Rooster is hollow body copper as is the arrow bit the tip if arrow is cast brass. Both balks are damage free copper. The direction indicator is cast brass and perfect. I picked this up at a estate sale and it was disassembled. I provided the copper tubing which fit all the pieces perfectly and without modification. Item Description: You are bidding on an antique Harvard University academic three-handled trophy made by Nathaniel G. Wood& Sons of Boston probably in the period from 1890-1910. The trophy measures 5" high and is made of copper and pewter. I translated the Latin on the cup on Google and it reads something like: Academic Seal of Harvard- Christ and Church- Truth. There is a slight bend in the base. Some wear on the Harvard seal and some oxidation, but otherwise the trophy is in good condition. There is a makers mark of"N.G. Wood& Sons" and a form( number of"145" on the underside of the base(see photo 9)

The second bowl pictured also has an elephant and other deer like animals, flowers and the bottom is a man in a turbin. I purchased these at an estate auction and am uncertain of their age and origin-Asian is my guess.
