Antique Persian Tulwar Sword & Scabbard Gold Decorated Hilt & Cartouche
This# 907 is as follows: This antique Persian tulwar sword and scabbard with gold decorated hilt and cartouches is from my estate liquidator's private collection. What you see is what you get. It was acquired from an estate over 35 years ago and now being offered for auction. It weighs just under 2-Lbs. 5-Oz. sword measures 36 inches overall, blade measures 31 inches. The original leather and wood scabbard is tattered and missing the tip by about 5 inches and the leather feels like paper where is has loosened a bit. The blade is solid but there is surface rust and staining, a few nicks to a still fairly sharp edge; it may have be worked at some time but ages ago as this is and was in found condition, note pics#10& 11 to see what looks like a worn or worked tip. Two gold cartouches found in pics#6 and#7, that are positioned on either ... moresides of the blade, are bright and prominent; one less visible looks like the remnant of a makers mark? and can be seen in picture#12. I was told by a neighbor(retired Indian Army Lt. Colonel, and 77 years old) that the cartouche reads like Saudi, but surely Islamic, maybe from the Arabian Peninsula and that it was old. I was also told the hilt is gold decorated as well. A nice antique Persian sword.With a reasonable opening bid, here for your consideration, that would surely add to your collection. Unlisted in the Brunk reference.the"R•W" counterstamp on an 1826 large cent. Unevenly punched raised letters in a large cartouche. Luckily. The mark is punched twice- uneven to the left on one punch, uneven to the right on the other so a clear view of how the full punch would have looked can be discerned. A nice piece for collectors of these"old style" initial punches, which were popular with tool makers, metalsmiths and gunsmiths in the earlier 1800s. Often, these are Hard Times era pieces. This 1826 large cent is distorted due to the double punching of such a large mark. The surfaces are smooth and hard despite the abuse- an appealing. Medium brown with no corrosion or verdigris. Nice! The map was compiled by Jodocus Hondius II(1594-1629) and made its first appearance in the Atlas with this 1633 edition under the imprint of his surviving brother Henricus. Their father(1563-1612) purchased the map copperplates of the renowned Gerard Mercator(1512-1594) from Mercator's heirs and with those legendary maps as the foundation of the Atlas the senior Hondius added maps of his own. A practice later continued by his sons and their ... morebrother in law Jan Jansson that allowed the eventual publication of nearly 50 editions in multiple languages of the Mercator-Hondius Atlas. Antique Marble Fireplace Cartouche
Antique Fireplace cartouche that was 1 of 2 that most likely held up a mantle over the fireplace. Must of been one heck of mantle in a very wealthy home. Nice decorative value. Just about 12 inches from top to bottom and 8 inches across at the widest point and about 7 inches toward the bottom. No major damage. One minor chip on the side above the swirl as seen in the pic other very nice piece. Weight is 13 pounds. Ships to USA only.

Imagine this mounted to a Victorian bed. Doorway or other furniture piece as the center cartouche. This mounting is like a Black Forest piece except the Fox is not carved. 19th - Early 20th Century Cavalry Cartouche Cartridge Shoulder Belt
This is a Cavalry shoulder belt or cartouche belt. I believe that it dates from the late 19th century. Or perhaps the early 20th. I don't have any solid provenance, but it was probably worn by one of the many state militia cavalry organizations such as New York's Squadron A, The Philadelphia City Cavalry, or Cleveland's Black Horse Troop. It Is also possible that it came from one of the military schools with cavalry units. The belt is constructed of painted canvas over leather. The box is leather with gilded brass trim and insignia. VINTAGE 4 3/4" SILVER OVERLAY VASE Cartouche Etched on Base Decorated w/Flowers
Cartouch etched on vase base. But I can not read the mark. Not even sure what the logo represents. Please look at pictures. I tried to get a good photo of the base. Vase is 4 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" across The vase is in excellent condition. No cracks or chips. This is a sweet size and shape. It is small but has some heft. Would look great on a night stand with spring flowers to greet a guest or on a small shelf beside books or on an end table with a lamp. Really Really cute! THANKS FOR LOOKING! Here is a another good antique Victorian fruit knife. The silver blade is fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1915 and the makers mark is MBRS(M Brs) who tended to specifically make fruit knives. The mother of pearl handle has a silver navette shaped blank cartouche on it. This item measures approx 3. 1/2 inches when closed. And when open it measures approx 5. 1/2 inches in length. The blade opens fully. Stopping at the 90 degree mark first, a good knife very nice and tactile. This item is in good antique condition with very little age and use wear. The carved decoration on the end has wear to its surface, this knife has been held a lot, somebody loved it, and someone new will love it just as much, see pics.
