Small corrections to 1978. The chart is 28" x 41" 70cm x 103cm) The chart is in excellent condition. Clean, no tears, no stains. It was folded and the rolled at some point, resulting in some bowing of the paper. This can be easily flattened. Very detailed general maps showing settlements. Main political boundaries and terrain. A number of insets showing areas around Lima, San Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Valparaiso. Condition is good. The printed areas are bright and clean with attractive colour. The scanned images are un-edited(except for size) and are of the actual map you will receive. I've noticed that some of the scans look a little blurry or grainy. This is a large 1929 Map of South America. Showing disputed territory. It measures 28 X 20 inches. A search of worldcat.org which lists all holdings in the worlds libraries. Museums, historical societies and even a few map dealers shows that no other copy of this 1929 Rand McNally Commercial atlas exists anywhere. We have searched other sites and come up with zero. Paper drives during World War II, took many library and reference works. Add this to the fact that the majority of these atlases were leased by Rand McNally and were returned at the end of the year. This appears to have been the only copy that survived. This map is wax engraved and was issued as part of the Rand McNally Commercial Atlas. To be used by shippers and businesses to get their goods to customers and markets. The Rand McNally Commercial Atlas was updated yearly. This ... moremap is genuine. Not a copy or reprint. The maps have a single fold in the center. This is the first Stieler Atlas to have been printed using the lithographic method. The colors are strong and vibrant. These maps are printed on ONE SIDE ONLY. Note: These maps are from a German Atlas. Geographical names and any text are. Naturally, in German. Condition Very Good. Unless otherwise noted in red. There are no significant ... moremarks or soiling, no tears, and no foxing whatsoever. The maps are untrimmed and are suitable for framing.
