LAST CHANCE SALE! This antique or vintage ash or hot coals carrier. Foot warmer, bed warmer, etc. could have been used for any or all these. Ot it can be used as a trinket box, or just for a great display item. As you can see from the pictures, it appears to be copper inside but some is worn and looks almost like stainless steel. It had been painted tole style many years ago. I had it for about 30+ years and it was not newly painted then. There are 4 marks on the base- it probably had felt pads on it. I'm sure the residue can be cleaned off. The 5" handle is"turned" with inscribed bands and is screwed on- the small screws are a little loose. The 5 1/4" round X 1 3/4" main holder is in good condition with some minor wear, paint rubs, and the inside is a bit coroded. All can be clearly seen in the pictures. Antique 19th C. French Copper Ladle/Saucepan/Pot with Spout and Wood Handle In this listing we offer a unique 19th Century copper pot with a spout and a copper& turned wood handle. It may have been used as a saucepan. Ladle or pot. For the three years our family lived in Paris. France in the very early 1960's. We usually went out for a drive outside the city on Sunday afternoons. My parents' purpose was not to go shopping. But to get their children out into the lovely countryside once a week. On one occasion. However, we stopped in a small town where there was an interesting little antique store. My parents saw a set of ten copper pieces. Some of which matched and some of which did not. And were told by the shopkeeper that everything was 19th Century French in origin- not much more than that. My parents made the poor shopkeeper ... moretake them all out back and fill them all up with water just to make 100% sure that none of them leaked, and then they bought them all. The items have never been used for cooking since. They have been hung on a wall in various places we have lived, with only a little polish once a year. Or so. This piece is one of those interesting pots. Most of which my parents have decided to place on the market at this time. This beautiful piece is in very good condition. Though it would require retinning before it could actually be used for cooking. The wood handle is very slightly loose where it is joined to the copper portion of the handle by two copper round-headed nails. A triangular plate with three rounded projections is attached to the pot by three copper rivets. And the handle is soldered to this with brass. The underside of the copper portion of the handle shows a brass soldered seam. There is a little green oxidation on the inside of the pot. Please note: This pot does not stand flat on its own and I am certain it never did. There is no evidence of scorching on the wood handle. This antique copper coffee pot or kettle is easily 125 years old. No identifying marks: it could be American. But is most likely English. Holds 5 cups if filled to the top rim. So 1 quart with room for boiling water/pouring. Tapered-form copper kettle with gently domed lid still fully water tight: lid is loose, part of hinge is missing but the pot is completely functional and can be displayed without repairing the hinge. Soldering evident in areas is possibly old repairs, possibly original fabrication. Finial has traces of what appears to be black paint: handle was likely painted black as well. An attractive. Original 19th Century, Brass Kettle. May be from as early as 1890 to the 1910s Style and shape shows good proportion with brass finial on a decorative lid. And turned wooden handle. Dovetail seamed joints. Tinned inside. Possibly English or American. CONDITION- Decent Antique Condition- unpolished/ uncleaned. Expected use marks and minor dents found on body. With spout slightly off kilter, but I will let new owner straighten If so desired. Design on lip where lid sits has been worn in places as a result do cleaning over several decades as shown in photos. There have been two old repairs on the sides- see ohotos. I believe the handle supports are bronze, and are beautiful. The wood handle is attractive with two very minor chips missing. Dove-tailed construction on back as shown in photos. The teapot measures approximately 8" tall. 10" wide(including the handle) and 4" in diameter at the base. The inside of the pot has three hallmarks that can be seen in the last photo. They appear to be"CHK, CHK 1708, and one of tools. Condition: The lid opens and closes nicely. There is some scratching(mostly surface) from normal age and use(especially on the bottom. This listing is for a silver coffee pot with a side wood handle. This is a gorgeous pot with a hinged lid. Has a series of letters and symbols engraved on the bottom. BB&N, followed by an anchor, then the letter S. I haven't been able to track down the maker, but the anchor is the symbol for items made in Birmingham England. The letter S is an assay mark to show the date. It is worn but looks like the mark for 1867-68. The base of the pot is worked into an ornate pattern.
