The bust measures 8 ¼ inches or 21 cm high. And is 4 ¾ inches or 12 cm wide across her shoulders. The sculpture shows a beautiful woman titled“IDA” at the front of the base. Her hair is tied up in a bun and she wears a one shoulder dress. The bronze has a brownish-green patina or color which is all original to the piece. The bronze is signed on her back shoulder“E. VILLANIS” There is also a mark on the back of the base in a circle“LU47” Emmanuel Villanis worked in France and began to exhibiting at the Salon in 1886. His work is strongly influenced by Art Nouveau. And he produced innumerable works, mostly representing feminine figures.
