He deposits coin, tips ... morehis hat, and a bell rings! Metal rods holding monkey in place are replaced. He moves around a little bit, but he is secure. The wire linking the crank to the monkey's arms is replaced. It's working well. However it's possible it may come unhooked from the monkey's arms and would need to be reattached. It's a very simple mechanism and is easy to fix. The bank is in great shape and is all original accept for what's mentioned above. It has the original coin trap. It is missing the key, but the lock can be picked quite easily. The bank can also be taken apart completely by turning the rod running down the middle. Brass became in short supply so these cast iron bells were made for smaller boats. It weighs 18 pounds and measured 91/2" diameter at the mouth and 9" total length. It has a beautiful loud"B" sound. Closest on the piano. It has the original clapper and bulkhead mount bracket and the only markings I could find was USN on the bell and B1 on the bracket. There are a couple of small chips on the rim and some casting marks as can be seen in the pictures. Literally beat the iron scraper to this solid. Rusty gold, vintage Hiawatha advertising cast iron disk. About 14 1/2" in diameter. No cracks or splits. Very decreative in that it has many"ribs" lineing the top, streaming from Sipe Mfg Co. Hiawatha Kan. It has a nice hole and lip through the middle. This makes it easy to hang on a wall. The shield is quite ornate with a detailed medieval battle scene in the center, including warriors, horses, swords& shields. Celebrate days gone by with This Primitive Cast Iron Kettle. With Gate Mark! This is a Genuine Circa pre 1875 work of Antique Americana Folk Art! These Large vessels were crafted for use on an open fire or coal& wood burning stoves. The generation of cast iron. Beginning around the mid 1700's to around 1875 will have a"gate" mark, which looks like a long thin line on the bottom of the piece. This is where the iron entered the mold. Pieces made after 1875 were engineered so the iron entered the mold from one side or the other. These pieces have a smooth bottom, with no gate mark. Most of the major manufacturers of cast iron cookware began production in the late 1870s or early 1900s. Pots with gate marks were made from the mid-1700s until about 1875. These were often used not only to make hot beverages and the like. But were ... moreoften filled with water& left to steam over the fire at all times to help provide hot water for washing, laundering& general use as well as to provide humidity during the dry winter months. The bottom of this pot has a prominent gate mark& is tapered to fit on a wood fire stove or tripod ring. The original heavy duty bail style handle is not only still fully intact. It’s very solid and structurally sound. I would expect it to easily continue to hold this heavy pot for another 150 years! Up for sale is a wonderful vintage circa late 1800s to early 1900s Cast Iron and Sheet Iron RABBIT form boot scraper in old original weathered white paint. The piece weighs just over 5 lbs and measures approx 14" at the base.Stands approx 12" tall measured from the ground, with the figure itself standing 9-1/4" tall. The scraper part is approx 4-1/2" long. This is an old original item- a nice decorative addition to any household. The door stop measures approx. 7 1/4" wide, 5 1/2" tall, and 2" deep; weighing a sturdy 3.4 pounds. It is marked on the back with CN stamp. Antique Boot Scraper Primitive Ca 1890-1910 Cast Iron Signed Mud Pan Lyre Harp
ANTIQUE CAST IRON LARGE LYRE HARP BOOT SCRAPER WITH MUD PAN This very old large cast iron boot scraper was found in an estate in central Virginia. It measures 11-1/2" long x 9-1/4" wide x 7-1/2" tall and weighs 8 lbs. It features a lyre design with a 4-1/2" wide scraper bar. A 1-1/2" deep oval mud pan with fluted sides, and four 1/2" long feet. The feet are evenly worn so it sits level and steady on any flat surface. It remains in very good condition showing general wear and remnants of old black paint. It is signed VM on the bottom.
