They are called pushup candlesticks because of the center mechanism which allowed the candle to be"pushed up" as it burnt down so the entire candle could be burned instead of leaving a short stub. We are pleased to offer this wonderful. Old, antique pair of candlesticks. This petite pair dates to the 19th century. They are a beautiful representation of French ormolu. They are Rococo in style and feature very detailed and ornate design. The pair are gilt bronze which has a nice thickness. They have beautiful bases with"plant stem" center columns. The stems lead to a large opened bloom that rests under the three, ascending height candle holders. The candle holders have very detailed leaves and vines that seem to wrap around them. There are two large flowers on the top sections; one faces front, the other faces the back. The candle wax drip cups are also in the form of multi petaled flowers. The pair is very ornate and extremely detailed. They are quite old and they take a smaller circumference taper candle as traditional tapers ... moreare too large to fit into the cups. The pair have screw thread that holds the cups in place and that runs down the center column. The pair are in very good condition for their age. There is some aging to the gilted patina but the pair still retain the gilted appearance. Each candelabra measures 13" tall. The bases are 4.5" wide and the top sections measure 9.5" wide. Overall they are in good condition for their age. Vintage brass candelabra pair, circa 19th century w/ figural hounds
Beautiful pair of heavy brass or bronze vintage candelabras. They are each approximately 23" high. 9.25" wide, and 8.25" deep. The base measures 7" x 7" Their combined weight is approximately 27 pounds. I believe these are 19th century but I have no way of authenticating the age. They have interesting figural hounds near the top and are very well made. I have not been able to locate any makers marks on them. Beautiful pair of 19th century Antique German Porcelain Pug Dogs!
This is a charming pair of brown and black coated pug dogs. They are 4" tall and have molded bells and ribbons on their collars.These pugs are in very good condition with a few little defects. One of the bows has a small chip on it and one of the right paws on one of the dogs has a chip on it. Hardly noticeable. Easily fixable! A little paint gone from right pupils of each dog. pitcher copper antique matching pair graduating 1800s 19th century brass wood
For auction is a pair of matching copper pitchers. One being slightly larger than the other. The pitchers appear to be handmade of copper and tin lined. I think they have rolled seams, but I’m not sure about that. The handles are riveted onto the sides of the pitchers. The wood on the handles and single lid is very dry and needs to be oiled. The handle of the shorter pitcher is slightly loose. They both hold water. I think they both have what’s called a large flanged lip. The pitchers are slightly flared and tapered from bottom to top. In nice condition generally, they have minor dings, dents and scratches from normal use. The tall pitcher shows some discoloration near the top edge and near the neck especially. I think that the handles are of brass and wood, but I don’t know the type of wood. I don’t know if these could be considered flagons ... moreor not. I’ve seen listings for similar looking pitchers claim that the items are from the 1800’s, but I’m very unsure if that is true in this case. The pitchers have a sort of a warm patina. It seems they would have more of a patina, or at least a darker patina being that old, but perhaps they were polished sometime in the past 100 years or so. I don’t see any markings on these. The taller pitcher measures about 4 ¾ inches at the tallest point and is just under 3 1/4 inches diameter at the bottom. The shorter pitcher stands about 4 inches tall at the tallest point and is also about 3 ¼ inches diameter at the bottom. The lid can fit either pitcher. Together, both pitchers and lid weigh 7.2 ounces alone with no packaging. As I understand it, copper pitchers of this form were often found in American kitchens in the 19 th century and were available in sets of graduating sizes. They were usually tin-lined. As these pieces are, so that they could be used for consumable liquids. They are very decorative and are often assembled by collectors to complete a set in different sizes. I am offering this stunning pair of 19th Century Austrian Bronze Bulls for auction today in the hope they will find a new home. I am downsizing and they just don't seem to fit my new surroundings. Here is what I know: This handsome pair belonged to my stepfather whom I did not know well at all. I once commented about them and he left them to me when he passed away some years ago. These Bulls were purchased by my stepfather's father in Vienna. Austria sometime between 1897 and 1898. Apparently, the Sculptor was a family friend who often visited with my stepfather's family in Munich, Germany when he was travelling throughout Europe. I do not know the name of the Sculptor and the Bulls are not marked. According to my stepfather, the family hid these and several other pieces of this same Artist's work during the War and he(my ... morestepfather) brought only these two pieces with him when he immigrated to the U.S. after the War. I have taken these pieces to two very reputable Antique Dealers in my area for their evaluation and input. They both confirm the pieces to be 19th Century Austrian Bronze with Black/Dark Brown Patina. Each party had an idea of who the Sculptor"might" be. But because they are not marked(which I have learned was not too uncommon at the time) I will not mention the names of any Artists of the period. I am NOT an expert in Bronze Sculpture and can try only to describe these pieces as accurately as possible. Considering their age. They are in very, very nice condition- perhaps in need of a professional cleaning.there is a tiny ding/mark here and there on each piece, but please view the photos I have provided very carefully as they are considered part of my description. Exceptional. Ca. 19th century cast iron Native American Indian figural statue pair Offered at 7 day no reserve auction is this finely detailed pair of Native American Indian cast iron statues. They most likely date to about 1880 or 1890. Made of cast iron and painted in a gold. gilt' type of paint, this pair measures 10 inches tall and approximately 4 inches wide at the base. After being evaluated by a couple of experts, they feel strongly they are most likely Tobacconist countertop cigar store figures. For clarity, I should also point out they have also been described to me as Stove Finials. I feel they are more likely countertop cigar store displays due to the tobacco leaves in the hair of each, and what appears to be a cigar in the waistband of the Native American man. Antique Bronze Pair of Ewers, 19th Century Marble French Neoclassical
This pair of bronze and marble ewers are in wonderful condition. The fine details. Including the lion are beautiful. They stand approximately 16 1/2" high. Base is 4 1/2" in diameter. Each ewer weighs just over 7lbs a piece. I was told by a reputable source that they were appraised at over $800 years ago. However the paper work is no longer available. You won't be sorry with these gorgeous pieces!

For sale from the estate of a family member is this stunning pair of 19th Century French bronzes representing the Greek God Apollo and Goddess of the Hearth Hestia. This bronze pair are spectacular. Impressive pieces for home or office. No noted condition problems. Beautiful patina and artist detail that delights the eye. Their faces convey actual emotion(if you know the story behind these two) They stand approx. 17 inches high and the plinth(base) has a diameter of approx. 6 inches. These were appraised as being from the 19th Century and cast in France. No signature or foundry mark has been found but the basalt plinths are one indicator of their origin and age. Our home is very contemporary is design and furnishing and these really don't fit as such. So this pair of wonderful bronzes needs a new home where they will be admired and appreciated, ... moreperhaps by a collector of fine bronzes.
