For Auction is a hard to find Desk Set Item made by Tiffany Studios. New York. The Item is a"Letter Opener" and it is done in one of Tiffany's most desirable Desk set patterns known as"Zodiac" The Letter opener is 10 1/2" wide or long by 5/16" tall or thick and 7/8" deep at its deepest part which is the Handle end. The Letter Opener Displays a brown with highlights of green patina. There are Zodiac signs on each side of the handle. One side is showing a Scorpion for the sign"Scorpio" and the other side is showing the Scales for the sign"Libra" The letter opener shows signs of use. The Patina shows wear as you can see areas of the copper plating under the Brown/Green Patina. The Letter Opener is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks. Nicks, or major dents to ... morethe Metal. There are a few small dents to the back side of the handled and these are pictured but noting to deter value. This Letter knife is properly signed with the Impressed"Tiffany Studios New York 1095" Mark. The strike is clear and very legible. 1800'S SET OF 3 HALLMARKED EARLY HANDLED PEWTER MEASURES NICE PATINA
This auction is for a set of 3 pewter measures probably from the mid to late 1800's. There is a 2 deciliter and two 1 deciliter measures. There is a ding on the larger measure and one ding on one of the small measures as seen in photos. Also the spout on the large measure has a little ding and there are some little droplets near the handle( in photo) apparently from when it was made. Various hallmarks are on them with an angel blowing a horn and KDPR on the bottom of the larger measure( think its German) and R G in a triangle on one of the small measures(English? This auction is for a pair of Worlds Fair 1904 pewter salt and pepper shakers. They are nicely engraved with the fair info and also have L.P. on them. When I bought them. I was told that stood for Louisiana Purchase which would have been the 100 year anniversary at that time. But, it could just be the buyers initials also. They are in very nice condition and they do sit perfectly straight even though the photos make it seem like they are leaning. They measure 2 1/2 inches tall by 1 1/4 inch diameter at the base and 1 1/16 inches diameter at the top. Patina is nice. Payment is expected within 3 days via Paypal. I purchased 2 Old Door Stops at an Estate/Moving Sale. I was told by the older Gentleman(75 ish) that the 2 door stops had always been in his grandmothers house and when he was a child he would play with them and hurt his toes when he would accidentally hit them while barefoot. I am not a collector of Old Door Stops I just couldn't resist them at the time. Bull dog is in as found condition. I did not try to clean him, I didn't want to disturb the finish, he looks like he could use a bath. He stands 10" in height and 8 1/2" in length. He is a heavy 8 lbs. Nice Small Old Primitive Vintage Hammered Copper Vase Great Patina We took a trip to some unfamiliar shops this weekend and came home with some fabulous items– lots of antiques and uniques for you! I’ll be listing all week. So be sure to check back! The lighting in my photos is being messed with by the reflection off of the snow this week. My backyard is not included in this auction- it's already spoken for: and for illustration only! This vase is a perfect example. I finally got pretty close to the age darkened patina in photo 1 by turning my stool away from the light. Use that photo as your reference. As the others look much lighter to me on my screen than they do to my eyes. It's a wonderful small, older vintage hammered copper vase. Measuring 4" tall, it is 1 7/8" diameter across the mouth, 3" widest at the body ... moreand 1 1/4" diameter across the base. It weighs a smidge under 1/2 lb and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The piece is hammered and really beautiful with a nice dark patina- I'd call it old penny in color. Excellent condition- I found one absolutely itty-bitty teenie rough spot when rubbing my fingers along the top edge- it's too small for me to see, so I took a very close up shot in photo 9- see how small it is? It's not marked that I can see. It's dusty, and could use a good cleaning- I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. CARL SORENSEN BRONZE, ART DECO CONCENTRIC RINGS FLARING VASE, NICE PATINA~~
For Auction is a wonderful bronze trumpet or flaring vase made by Carl Sorensen of Philadelphia. Pa. A well known figure in The Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the century, Carl Sorensen later went on to work as a designer for Tiffany Studios, New York and Louis Comfort Tiffany. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 5 1/4" tall and has a diameter of just under 5 1/16" The Vase has a wonderful form with a great patina on bronze. It displays a round bottom with a wide flaring top opening. There are 6 concentric rings that circle the bottom portion of the vase. The top 2 are quite thin and the bottom 4 are substantially larger. This gives this Vase that Art Deco flavor. The green patina very vibrant and extremely well executed. The interior of the vase has a different shade of the deep mottled green. The underside bottom ... moreof the vase even shows this wonderful deep rich Patina. This Vase is considered to be in very good condition to excellent condition as there are no Cracks or Dings to the Metal. The top lip is nice and even. The Vase does show signs of use on the inside top lip and top of the foot's outer edge. There is some patina wear between the rings along the bottom. Other than this typical wear it is a excellent example. The Vase is signed on the underside bottom. It has the script impressed signature mark"Carl Sorensen" along with the"CS Bronze" impressed emblem. Purchase with confidence as this Vase will enhance any Arts and Crafts. Mission Style Decor. It will look outstanding on that Stickley bookcase and will work just wonderful with that Matte Green Art Pottery Collection. This Vase was made Circa 1925-1930.
