However, when I was inspecting it for this listing I peeked under the felt base because it seemed heavy and I think it may actually be enameled metal- I wouldn't be able to tell without removing the bottom but that would be an extra nice surprise for you. There are 2 teenie-tiny ... moredings in the metal lampshade, look closely at the pictures as they are very hard to see to the naked eye, I just wanted to be extra thorough. I have not tried the lighter but there is no reason that with fluid it would not work, to me it appears functionally in mint condition. Antique Figural Sewing Thimble Holder/Stand Child &French Bull Dog Spelter Metal
In the spotlight for your bidding consideration is this antique figural thimble stand featuring a child with his pet French bull dog! Standing roughly 3 3/4" tall and measuring 4 3/16" long. The scene portrayed is that of a curly haired boy who is petting the head of his dog as a reward for sitting up so nicely. Next to the bully is a thimble shape molded onto the base that acts as a holder for a real thimble. This metal sculpture appears to cast from a spelter. Spelter is a blend of zinc alloys that was used for many 19th and early 20th century cast pieces of a lesser quality, such as figurines and candle sticks. As such, the modeling on this piece is rather crudely finished, though the little dog with collar looks rather good. The metal has taken on a darkened patina with age and oxidation, and there are scratches and scuffs overall. ... moreIt has a spot of green on the dog and could use a cleaning. There is an old cast iron stove with a basket of flowers, and a woman. The other has two figures, boys. No damage, finish as is, shows some rust under bright light, probably a pot or white metal. It was founded in 1911 and was a company that coated steel with enamel and porcelain;mainly used in the cooking industry.But later found to coat appliances like washers and dryers,ect. It was here til the year 2000 before it sadly moved it's factory south to Alabama. This is a lovely example of their work in a promotional form. BRASS EXPANDABLE OWL END BOOK RACK MADE BY ICONIC JUDD MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN US circa 1930s at latest. Beautifully detailed. Vintage, expandable bookrack featuring an owl sitting on a branch with pinecones with all the detail typical of pieces forged in the 1920s/1930s. THIS ALMOST CENTURY OLD EXPANDABLE BOOK RACK IS BOTH FUNCTIONAL& BEAUTIFUL. Judd Mfg. began producing a decorative line of fine-quality sand castings in iron. Brass and bronze. Among these items were bookends and book racks. As this is, which were produced between 1910 and the late 1930s. Bookends feature a 9000 series stock number. Very distinctive Art Nouveau/Deco styling. Faceplates are brass or bronze plated iron. The connecting rods appear to be brass based on color. The end plates measure 6 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" tall. This fantastic 19th century Aesthetic Movement Epergne Card Receiver measures about 16-1/4" tall. The cast Iron& Spelter section measures about 7-3/4" tall. The top and bottom of the base is cast iron the owl section is spelter or white metal. The glass vase section is actually cut along the rim not molded as pictured. The edge of the vase is a chipped just a bit and there is patina to the metal. It is really a beauty and I have not seen another like it.

Art Deco Figural Bookends Metal w/ Celluloid Ivorine JB Hirsch
Great old art deco figural bookends. They are as seen. A female dancer of some sort. I believe they are a JB Hirsch or artist, as they are the metal material with the celluloid or ivorine face and belly. One of the figures belly has a crack showing. There are area to this ivorine material with dirt or stain. I do not think the hands are the same material, since they do have two broken fingers they appear to be a plaster like material. Even with these flaws they are really unusual and show well. The metal dress and hat and shoes are painted gold. They are attached to a marble 3 layered base. There is no signature that I see.
