This is a piece that was built to last with strong and heavy construction throughout. The crest is an ornate and complicated carving of flowing ribbon tied in a double-bow and interlaced with flowers that sprout over and along the frame, likewise carved carefully with a large twisted rope molding lined by a small twisted rope border. The arms flow down into curved handholds, the arm supports terminating in the frame with acanthus leaves sprouting up along the edges. These arms flank a deep and very comfortable down upholstered cushion, thick and very supportive, complimenting the overall cant of the chair- by leaning just slightly backwards. Louis XV Gilt Bronze Jardiniere Centerpiece Circa 1842
This is a beautiful centerpiece gilt bronze dore jardiniere in the style of Louis XV and dates circa 1842. It is in good condition commensurate with age and use and has been well cared for. The Cartouche in the center has initials incised into the decoration about which I have no information. By all appearances it must have been a commissioned piece. It measured 18 1/2" long by 11" wide by 8" tall. As shown. The liner fits down in the jardiniere frame. It is exceptionally ornate and beautiful and makes a gorgeous centerpiece on a formal table. A superb pair of French. Louis XV style ormolu bronze candlesticks. The bottom indicates the mark of Thomas Abbott of Birmingham, England- well-respected for his detailed and high quality bronze work in the mid-1800's. The bottom plate is missing on one- otherwise these are in very fine, original condition. Standing 10" high and 5" at the base, they are quite heavy at 1554g(3-1/2 Lbs) each.

This is a lovely wall sconce that was purchased in San Francisco nearly ten years ago. We had it wired at that time. Now we are downsizing and will not have a spot for it. Our loss is your gain. It measures 15 inches tall by 10 inches wide. It features the Ribbon at the top and a small grape cluster at the bottom. I do have the mate to this sconce but it was damaged a few years ago and we had it repaired but it did not come out properly. These are not electrified and are meant to hold 4 candles in each candelabra. In the style of Louis XV. These candelabra are heavily adorned with rams heads, floral garlands and swags, flowers and acanthus leaves. The 4 footed base is topped with an urn which supports a central tall stem ending in a candle nozzle shaped like a lily. The center stem is surrounded by three lower candle nozzles also shaped like flowers on foliate arms as well as decorative flowers(some with stamens) stems and leaves. Condition issues: Of the 8 total candle nozzles. 7 have a removable bobeche but one is missing that rim. Louis XV XVI Style 1850-1899 - Pair 3-Branch Candle holders - Candleabra
Pair Large Brass Three-branch Candle Holders Late 19th Century You are bidding on a charming pair of three branch candle holders designed in an exuberant late 19th century interpretation of 18th century styles. The pair is most likely Continental in origin-my guess would be French. Neither candlestick is marked. Because of their height and narrow size they'd be perfect on a mantle. The base is designed in what I would call a Louis XV shape surmounted by Louis XVI style garlands. The central support is a quiver with arrows in the Louis XVI style with side arabesques. The bobeches. Or disks beneath the candle sockets, have what I would call an Empire exoticism of tropical foliage. The three bobeche on each holder are pierced in 6 places to accommodate prisms or drops. I once tried them with prisms and I felt they took away from the design ... moreof the candlesticks. But the option is available. The holes are noticeable only on close inspection. The backs of the sticks are decorated so that they could readily stand in front of a mirror and display a simply designed reverse. They are both approximately 14.5" tall with a width of approximately 2.5" at the base and 9.75" at the widest point of the bobeches. I believe they are brass and there may be some very old traces or an original gilt finish in places. All photos were taken in strong natural daylight. I try to be very precise with my condition reports so that you know exactly what you are bidding for. There is no significant damage or loss to the pieces- just the few dings and scratches expected on metalwork dating back over a century. These were handmade items that were cast and assembled so the measurements on the two pieces are not always identical. The front of the bases have a separate grill feature and one of the pierced grills is very slightly off center- a condition most likely occurring when the pieces were assembled.
