The bucket has a nice rolled rim and a loop handle made out of a ferrous metal(it sticks to a magnet) with hooked ends inserted into brass eyelets situated on both sides of the bucket. The eyelets are made of brass and are attached to the side of the bucket with copper rivets. The bucket has a slightly rounded circular base with flared sides rising to the rolled rim. The sides and base of the bucket shows marks of hammering to form it. The inside of the bucket has incised concentric circles in the bottom and incised lines running around the sides near the top and close to the bottom. This is a nice size and substantial bucket weighing almost 1 3/4 pounds. Just a beautiful piece of older brass, which would look great in your collection. Arts Crafts Hand Hammered Finely Planished Copper Brass Trumpet Vase Erp-Style
Lovely Arts and Crafts Trumpet/Tulip Vase. This piece is finely hand-hammered out of fairly heavy-gauge brass and has some very fine planishing in the workmanship-it has a mellow brass copper patina with just a touch of sienna and a smidgen of earth green. It is 7 1/4inch high.The mouth of the vase and the base/foot of the piece are both an equal 4 inches across.I'm no expert but i have owned some old A&C Metalwork-a couple of Van Erps and two Roycrofts,and as a as a guesstimate i'd say this piece was at least pre 1940's and most likely 20's-30's or before.There are no cracks or noticeable dings,soldering on bottom seems fairly tight. This piece is unsigned and was probably created at a Vocational School or by someone in an apprenticeship program.

Vintage Antique Hand Hammered Embossed Relief Brass Serving Tray
Up for auction is a beautiful hand hammered decorative arts brass serving tray recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is 12 x 15" and has a hole at the top for easy hanging. It is a lovely floral and leaf design with only one loss from over hammering as seen in photo#10 where the light shines through. None the less a very nicely hammered piece that would look great hanging in between uses. Beautiful original patina on back as well. There are no makers marks. The style is reminiscent of fine quality Indian Bumese pieces but we feel it to be American due to the size of the leaves and flowers and accents. A great piece of craftsmanship. THERE ARE SO MANY BEAUTIFUL DETAILS ON THIS TRAY. BIRDS, DEERS FLOWERS, WOLF DRAGON, KING ON A HORSE THE TRIM WORK. THIS WAS HAND CRAFTED BY A MASTER OF THIS ART. Vintage Hammered Brass Bucket Iron Handle and Copper Rivets Incised Decoration For Your Vintage Brass Implements Collection Details Description: A vintage. What looks like hand-hammered, brass bucket. The bucket has a nice rolled rim and a loop handle made out of a ferrous metal(it sticks to a magnet) with hooked ends inserted into brass eyelets situated on both sides of the bucket. The eyelets are made of brass and are attached to the side of the bucket with copper rivets. The bucket has a slightly rounded circular base with flared sides rising to the rolled rim. The sides and base of the bucket shows marks of hammering to form it. The inside of the bucket has incised concentric circles in the bottom and incised lines running around the sides near the top and close to the bottom. Very collectible, one-of-a-kind, antique German Art Nouveau ASHTRAY(dish) made of hand-tooled heavy solid brass by George von Mendelssohn in 1922. Mendelssohn was a much admired artisan of the early 20th century. He taught himself gold work during the time that he was studying and traveling in Europe and began working with bronze and brass in 1907. In 1910 he won his first international prize for his work. This tray measures 6-1/4” in diameter. Is 5/8” deep, and weighs 7.4 ounces(209.78 grams) It has a lovely dark patina, which is a little lighter on the under-side. It is incised on the bottom with“MENDELSSOHN- 1922- No. 105- M, plus a possible C” I am not sure what the last mark is- See Photo#2) ... moreThere is an intricate pattern on the 3/4” wide rim(Photos#6 and#7) and the tool marks can be readily seen on the back of the rim(Photo#8) The spotty marks inside the tray. I assume, are“burn” marks from cigarettes and cigars from many years of use as an ashtray. There are no cracks, breaks or heavy scratches on it and, other than the“burn" marks, it is in excellent, almost-100-year-old, condition! What a GEM!
