I am not an expert on items we sell but I will describe what I see when I look at the item to help when you view the photos. I am not sure if the age is correct when I put these under the 1800's column. I know they are old pieces. Condition is very good. The push ups still push nicely. There is NO crack or denting to the brass, there is remnants of old wax in the tops. There are faint spots of greenish oxidation that is common to brass. Estate Find - Small Antique Epergne or Slip Vase
This is a very pretty epergne found at an Estate Sale. It has a gold metal stand which is 3 3/4 inches high and a small glass vase that fits on the stand. The glass measures 4.5 inches. The display stands 5.5 inches in total. The stand has an intricate design and it's flanked by two young cherub type figures. This wonderful statue comes from an estate sale in Mississippi. The family had lived in the house for generations and just recently liquidated all of the treasures collected there. Measuring 10-1/4" tall. 9-1/8" long and 3-3/4" deep, this statue is made of metal that does not hold a magnet. Notice the wonderful detail on the horse, boy and dog. I'm sure this piece is over 100 years old! It appears to have had a rein going through the holes in the horses bridle and the boy's hand. At some time in the past. Antique Brass Praying ANGEL Figurine w Base/Holder: Actress LOUISE CURRIE Estate Up for auction is a lovely antique brass praying angel figurine from the estate of film actress LOUISE CURRIE(1913-2013) I'll go into more detail about Ms. Currie after describing the item but among her credits is she was the last surviving actor from the cast of CITIZEN KANE until her death in 2013 at the age of 100. The brass angel is kneeling in prayer and may be a funeral piece of some kind. Obviously it is old and a well regarded piece to have had an acrylic base stand crafted specifically to display it. The figurine alone is a little over 2" tall(not counting the brass she is kneeling on) The entire piece is 4.75" tall and the acrylic stand(she is attached to it) is 3.5" X 3" The brass bottom has bends from likely before it was ever ... moremounted but the figurine and base are in very nice condition. The second from last photo is the entire lot of items I purchased from the Louise Currie estate. It was a boxed lot and this shows the entire contents of the lot. The last photo is the auction tag. Of course it's very hard to prove an item belonged to a famous person but you'll see I have a very long and good reputation with eBay. The auction tag is from the auction house A.N. ABELL AUCTION COMPANY in southern California. I actually won 2 lots of Ms. Currie's items. The week after the first auction this second lot had been put up for auction again and I won it. The tag has been changed with handwriting to reflect this second sale. With this tag number Abell's record keeping will show this lot came from the Louise Currie estate. LOUISE CURRIE was active in the film industry from 1940 to 1956. She did action adventure films like THE GREEN HORNET STRIKES AGAIN. THE MASKED MARVEL and THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL. Brass Bell Flower shaped antique patina vintage old estate find
I found this adorable little bell at an estate sale. It's solid brass with a nice patina. It's shaped like a flower and the knocker appears to be original. There are markings on the bottom and on the stem but they seem illegible to me. But I know NOTHING about brass. Both markings are visible in pictures. I happen to like the patina, so I've left this piece uncleaned but it could certainly be polished up! Heavy piece. Antique estate bronze embossed box NY foundry model maquette sample hand tooled
Antique estate bronze hand made embossed box. The woman's great grandfather worked for a foundry in New York. It was a working maquette model for a desk set. Box was not put into production as the sides where canted and the lid only opens three quarters of the way. The pin hinges were tooled to try to adjust for that. Note the bottom panel is not flush with the side and was never filed smooth- see photos. Solder can be seen around the seams. The back panel bottom edge has been scraped to fit and there you can see the tool mark and tiny buckle. The inside is darker than the outside and there are two piece of scotch tape on the inside bottom. There is a number 2 on the inside. She had polish it although the polishing is somewhat uneven. Rare Pre- WWII Figurine. Large silver colored finish/patina metal TIGER or possible Lion on a base. Net weight is approximately 4 pounds 12 ounces, measures 3.75 inches tall x 10 inches long x 4 inches wide, marked on the bottom HENRY 1940 41, fully felted bottom. Some overall wear and scuffs of patina and one particular spot on center of back worn patina but no damage. Antique Victorian Girandole Figural Candelabra Candlestick w/Prisms Estate Fresh
Item up for bid is an absolutely gorgeous antique girandole 5 socket figural candlestick. This item looks to be made of brass and is covered with prisms. There are 26 hanging prisms on this in total with 4 being green in color. All of the prisms appear to be there as we do not see an area to hang one that is not being used. Prisms could use a cleaning but all of them are in fantastic condition with only a few very small chips that we could find. The longest of the prisms measure at 6" long(there are two of these) Stick itself has two figurals that can be seen that have a very neo-classical look with the top having a putti like look to it. The base has a very small hole on the back side. roughly 1/8th of an inch x 1/8th of an inch. This item was found during a recent estate liquidation where it was displayed and used for generations so ... morethere is a small amount of wax residue on it and it needs a light cleaning. For auction is this antique footed jewelry casket. The delicate brass filigree work on the lid is accented by glass gemstones. Jadeite and pearl accents. The interior is lined with green velvet. The size of this box is 6.5" long, 4" tall and 4" deep. The weight is nearly 3 pounds. The condition of this work is fine and original. We do not detect damage.
