A very beautiful antique Gilt Bronze Jewelry Box. The box is decorated with a hand painted Limoges Enamel Plaque depicting a beautiful woman. The portrait is depicts Jean-Jacques Henner's image of Saint Fabiola. The original painting was painted in 1885. The plaque is signed"TR" HR" or something similar. The plaque is surrounded with tiny seed pearls and the interior has the original velvet lining. Overall dimensions are 4" x 2 3/4" x 1 5/8" high. The Jewelry Box is in very good overall condition with no damage to the Enamel Plaque. The only thing to note are losses to the seed pearl border which you can see in the images. Magnificent French Victorian Renaissance Revival Jewel Casket Made of cast bronze. Brass, champleve enamel and green onyx. Composed of many parts that are held together with screws. Threaded rods and hand cut nuts. Photos 11& 12 show the construction. The cast bronze legs terminate in lion paws, they support a half round body made of green onyx with brass demilune end pieces. The top frame and lid are brass, the lid is centered with a cabochon cut piece of onyx within a bronze frame. A jeweled"bracelet" overlays the onyx. Condition: Recently cleaned and polished. No losses to the enameling. 1 pendent finial is missing on one of the back legs. One back leg is out of alignment and its foot is not level. The piece of onyx mounted on the lid is cracked across its center. The"bracelet" overlay is an old addition. Used to ... morecover the crack. Its cabochon stones are glass and one has a chip. The bracelet is not firmly attached and can be easily removed. The cracked onyx can be replaced with the material of your choosing, mirror, padded fabric, lapis lazuli. A most wonderful antique. Circa 1870's, French, signed on the base: Barbedienne, Neo Grec candelabra. The ormolu bronze has yellow, red, and blue, champleve enamels. The foot and body are of polished white onyx. Around the body is a band with bearded king heads, and shield type rosettes. There are four drop arms with champleve sockets, fine decorative chains drapded between arms. At top is the terminal. It has been converted to an electric lamp base in the past, thus the original lost finial has now a brass classical flame replacement finial. As presented the candelabra measures 19" tall by 6-1/2" square at sockets. Very good condition: original unworn ormolu finish, all enamel without losses. Onyx without cracks or chips.

It is so finely detailed with not only the bronze work but also the hand painted courting scene and the enamel work! It is in great condition with only a tiny little crack in the enamel. But it really is tiny and hardly visible to the eye. Also, the three corners appear to have to have a little damage; the corner seems are a little larger than the one on the bottom. Please see photos below. It has a beveled mirror inside along with wood panel sides on the inside. The bronze is extra intricate and it shines beautifully! Offering an unusual antique inkwell- French Art Nouveau Champleve Cloisonne FULLY BACKSTAMPED- in outstanding condition for it's age! SHIPPING BONUS- NO TAX BONUS! This lovely Champleve creation is make through a remarkable process- the bronze metal is heated and stamped to create a pattern with little pockets. The pockets of bronze are then filled with enamel flakes. It is then heated and the enamel melts to a remarkable richness and depth of colour that is remiscent of stained glass. Very similar to cloisonne in appearance. Due to an outline of shapes and patterns with metal, it is often confused yet this is in a distinct class of it's own. This inkwell is a solid piece. With multiple shade of the enamel that is bright, crisp and has no chipping. The inkwell itself is found by opening the decorative top. Inside it is clear and smooth metal. The hinge is strong, not repaired, and sits in perfect balance on the inkwell. At one time there would have had a porcelain or glass insert so it has been well preserved with no ink staining inside.
