The legs are made from very thick cast iron and have a nice gold gilded finish which has acquired a lovely patina from age. it is made of two curved pieces of iron which are connected in the center by decorative ornate bolts. they are very ornate and have a gorgeous bird/figural scene on both sides. the tabernacle is made from cylindrical textured amber glass which rotates on a recess to open and close. it has a hand carved wooden top and bottom which have nice color and are connected to very ornate 6 sided brass shafts. they are very ornate. Done in high relief, and fastened with ornate sprouting flowers iron bolts on top. there is also a very ornate large solid iron finial in the center. the piece is in exquisite condition and is extremely rare. Antique Heavy Cast Iron Scrollwork Dining Table Base The base is 28" tall and the base measures 35" wide from one foot to the opposite foot. The upper"x" table support is 19" wide. Each direction. There are holes in the ends of the top"x" so that a table top or substructure can be screwed down to it. The tube in the center of the cast iron base is hollow- 1 3/4" in diameter inside. The tube is not open ended. So if you wanted to use as a patio table base, a pole would not go all the way to the ground. Aesthetically speaking, that would probably look better anyway. The base is incredibly sturdy. Weighs about 45 pounds and it once held a 200 pound bluestone table top. It is very solid and an incredible piece of craftsmanship. WWII USN Ships Bell Cast Iron Original Clapper Bulkhead Mount Complete "B" Tone
Old WWII cast iron ships bell. Most ships bells were brass but to conserve brass during WWII mass produced ships that were considered expendable like the Liberty ships or the Destroyer Escorts were outfitted with cast iron bells. Brass became in short supply so these cast iron bells were made for smaller boats. It weighs 18 pounds and measured 91/2" diameter at the mouth and 9" total length. It has a beautiful loud"B" sound. Closest on the piano. It has the original clapper and bulkhead mount bracket and the only markings I could find was USN on the bell and B1 on the bracket. There are a couple of small chips on the rim and some casting marks as can be seen in the pictures. This is an unusual ship diorama. Visible from all sides. There is a 4-masted sailing ship, a small sailing vessel with 2 masts, and a side wheeler steamship at sea. The glass dome is removable. It sits on a circular wooden piece attached to the cast iron base and measures 9" tall and about 8" accross the base. I believe this model was made in the late 1800s.

Antique Vintage SHIPS WHEEL CAST IRON BRASS BANDED WOOD HANDLES Japanned Patina
You are bidding on One Antique Cast Iron SHIPS WHEEL with Brass-Banded Wooden Handles. Diameter measured across Handle Tip to Opposite Handle Tip is 20 1/2" 3/4" Diameter Main Center Mounting Hole. There are 4 Small Holes outlying from the Main Center Mounting Hole. The Reverse Side has 3 Pins or Protrusions(see photo) Wheel has 6 Wooden Handles the Base of Each Handle is banded with a 5/8" wide Band of Brass. Two of the Six Wood Handles have small cracks. 1 has a large crack as shown in photo- even with this crack. This handle is good and secure- there is no movement of the handle. On 5 of the 6 Handles the Slotted Retaining Screw(seen at the tip of each wood handle) is Iron and has the Slot mostly gone or'backfilled' somehow over the years- slots on these 5 are almost no longer there which hints at the really old ... moreage of this item. The sixth slotted Anchor Screw however is Brass and the screwdriver'slot' has not retrograded anywhere to the degree of the 5 Iron Slotted Handle Anchor Screws. The last use of this Wheel was as Nautical Wall Decor in a Restaurant. As such. The Iron Portion of the Wheel is Japanned or has a Coating of Shellac over the Iron. This coating has'locked' in any surface rust or paint. There appears to be an Embossed Mark or Signing on one side but this has'morphed' so much at it is unreadable. Iron has some old gold paint still showing in places. The See-Thru coating keeps the Cast Iron in a State of Suspended Animation. Some white paint on 1 of the Wood Handles. All in all.
