DESCRIPTION This auction is for an early metal daisy or other flower basket doorstop. If I had to guess the age. I would guess pre-1900. It has been painted over, probably more than once. The mold has openings within the array flowers and are not white spots in the pictures. The back side of the mold is not flat and shows the casts of the flowers and basket. It stands 10" x 5-3/4" wide and weighs 5 pounds before packaging. It looks like it is marked on the bottom, but I'm not sure exactly what it says. It's either letters and a number or all numbers. I used steel wool on the back and bottom to locate the mark. Has had paint added. Some light surface rust. LOCAL PICKUP IS ALWAYS WELCOME. White spots or glare is from the camera flash. Antique/Vintage Cast Iron/Metal Elephant Figurine/Paperweight
Hi! Up for auction is this great old antique/vintage cast iron/metal elephant figurine/paperweight in original. As found condition. I purchased this and another like it(in another listing) at a local estate sale. She weighs 1 lb. 5/80z. she's a little heavier than the other one, though they are exactly the same, just different colors) She has three layers of paint(obviously chipping) that I can see-mint/seafoam green is the color at the bottom-maybe the original color, I don't know, followed by white and then black. I have turned this elephant every way but inside out and do not see a maker's mark, so I do not know who made her or where.sorry. She measures roughly 3 1/2" long, 3 5/8" high(from foot to top of trunk) and her rear is about 2" high. They show normal signs of wear and tear for age and being cast iron but are in good condition overall. They would make a great edition to any collection and are adorable. Cast iron branch with leaves and acorns. They measure 20 1/2" by about 10" I am not sure what these are for. I bought them at an auction a few years ago and planned on having them attached as a decorative item under a small roof with these going down from the roof to the house. I am not sure what you call them. I am finally having some work done at the house but these are not going to work after all. They are both the exact same and I would need opposite sides painted. Unfortunately. The opposite side is the backside of the leaf- so it will not work. Buyer will pay shg/ins. of $40.00. Up for auction is an antique Iron Art bronzed cast metal casket style trinket box. It depicts the famous Battle of Lyndanisse during the northern crusades by the Danes. Here is the history behind the battle. Or you can skip to the next paragraph for the description of the box. In 1219, Valdemar II of Denmark continued the Danish conquest of the German Baltic Islands begun by his brother, Canute VI. At the Battle of Lyndanisse, near Reval, the Danes were battling the pagan Estonians. Weary and facing defeat, a critical turning point in the battle came when a red and white banner came in to the possession of Valdemar. Legend says the banner fell from the sky following a crash of thunder, landing in the arms of an archbishop, who heard a voice saying“When you raise this banner against your enemies they will yield before you” A messenger was ... moresent to King Valdemar with the banner and communication. The King held it high over the troops, and this divine approval encouraged the Danes to victory. Rallying under this new banner, which went on to become the national flag of Denmark, the Danes threw back the Germans and went on to seize all of Estonia. This flag, called Dannebrog, or“Danish Cloth” is the oldest flag in the world still in use and has been adopted by other Nordic countries. The inside of the lid has a description of the legend, in both Danish and English, under a banner reading"15.Juni Anno 1219 June15th" Box is wood lined and the wood is in nice shape. The back of the box is marked"Iron Arts Copenhagen Denmark" Believe box is circa early to mid 20th century. Box has nice patina and is in great shape. Very well constructed and heavy. This fantastic 19th century Aesthetic Movement Epergne Card Receiver measures about 16-1/4" tall. The cast Iron& Spelter section measures about 7-3/4" tall. The top and bottom of the base is cast iron the owl section is spelter or white metal. The glass vase section is actually cut along the rim not molded as pictured. The edge of the vase is a chipped just a bit and there is patina to the metal. It is really a beauty and I have not seen another like it.

Great vintage metal most likely cast iron(a magnet sticks to it) cat or kitten hand painted bank- great colors and form. I have no idea the maker or when it was made. It stands about 5" tallest at left ear x approx. 3 and 3/4" wide x about 3 and 1/2" thick. The hand painted type colors are very nice over a white or off-white base: black eyes and brows. Baby blue ribbon with some pink and pink ears.The kitten's nose and mouth are red. Condition is nice for age but does show some wear as seen in pictures- you can see some rust and paint loss along the seams that hold the bank together and sporadically through. The bottom also has some rust and scratches on it. Overall, it still shows well but that is my opinion as I do like this look of age to it. If your looking for mint this is not the piece to add to your collection.
