1930'S SITTING CAT WITH BOW TIE CAST IRON BANK GUARANTEED OLD & AUTHENTIC CI 563
This little girl is sometimes confused with the"Kitty Bank" They do sit next to each other in Moore's book. But they are different if you look closely. The paint shows wear, but her face is still sweet. She is rolling her eyes and has almost a smile. Yes cats can smile. The base shows her closure is missing. It was a slid or pop in. The base is NOT broken. Just missing the closure. Probably some little child decided to take out all of the coins, and just never replaced it. Since I don't do anything to any old items, this was as I found it. Shown in the Moore Bank Book M# 350 and rated a C. Original paint, and never repaired or broken. Measurements; 6" tall x 10 1/2" long Weighs approx 5 lbs 6 oz This wonderful Hubley Cast Iron Fireside Tabby Cat doorstop is in super nice condition with tight seams and age appropriate patina. The flat head screws have never been removed and you can see that they are still covered with paint. This is a gray& white stripped Persian Cat with green eyes. It has a faint pink colored bow on the back of it's neck. Holding a gold bell that is on the front of the cat's neck. There are a few spots where paint is missing like along the edges of the ears. Judd Co. CJO, cast iron doorstop called"Naughty Puss, number 1271. This antique doorstop is in very good condition with very little paint loss. The colors are relatively bright, with little fading or chipping. A very nice vintage doorstop. The front of this piece is stamped Q. Dioughy and this is approximately 9 inches tall and very heavy. This has been untouched by me.not even cleaned.not sure of care by previous owners. I believe this may have been created in reference to Dr. Jayne's Tonic Vermifuge. Really cool rusted iron black cat taken(NOT stolen) from the top of a fence. It's about 16 inches long tail to head. The tail is about 11 inches to the ground and the head about 8 inches. The cat is 7/8 of an inch thin. The base is about 11 5/8" by 2 3/8" It weighs about 12 pounds. Has holes in the base to screw to floor. For Auction I have a Doorstop made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster. Pennsylvania. The subject is a Persian Cat or Kitten sitting watching in curiosity. The Doorstop measures approximately 8 7/8" tall and is 6 1/2" long. The depth of the Doorstop is approximately 4 3/4" Hubley doorstops and toys were mass produced however each item was handpainted to pay attention to the details and this Kitty doesn't fall short of any expectations. She has her Original Paint of Cream with a darker overspray for a nice warm Tan color. She has beautiful Blue Eyes watching attentively with a sparkle in her eyes. The Doorstop is in Excellent Condition and has most of her Original Paint with no touch ups and very minor paint loss or chipping. This adorable cast iron door stop is unmarked. Possibly Hubbard. I have had it about 30 years. Now downsizing. Features a cat, kitten popping out of a high button shoe. Dates to Victorian era. Large Antique Cast Iron Standing Cat Doorstop Kitty Door Stop
Up for bids is a large solid cast iron doorstop in the likeness of a sittng cat finished with a black colored paint as pictured. I have seen these doorstops being advertised as being made by Hubley but I don't no for sure if that's who made them. It stands 12 1/4" high to the top of the ear and is 7 1/2" long across the front of the base by 2 3/4" deep from front to back. It is in nice condition with no chips or cracks to the cast iron but has some wear to the paint. There is a small bubble in the casting on the left leg made during the casting as seen in the last picture. Otherwise a very nice old cast iron piece with lots of character.
