Bronze English bulldog 3" figurine paperweight with hand painted accents black with copper wash. This bulldog has great detail. He is a male. He has a coin style decal on his back reading at the top left Capitol, and across the bottom Washington DC. It is signed on the bottom, the lettering is obscure under the paint, but you can see USA along with the signature. He resembles Mack, the Old English Bulldog, measuring 3" long x 2" tall x 1 1/2" wide. He is wonderful with a wrinkled neck and wide shoulders. Copper Bronze Rearing Horse and Cowboy Rider Figure Roy Rogers, Dodge ?
For your consideration is a highly detailed bronze or copper colored metal figure of a cowboy holding his hat. Riding a rearing horse. It reminds me of that iconic Roy Rogers on a rearing Trigger pose that adorned all of the Roy Rogers merchandise back in the 1950s. I don’t find any casting markings so I can’t say for sure who made it or who it’s supposed to be. It is fairly heavy for its size, but I don’t know what the actual metal content is or what finish was applied to obtain the color. It’s in great used condition with no chips, breaks, cracks or repairs. The base is covered with dark brown felt covered cardboard to prevent scratching. It measures right at 11 ½” high, with the base being approximately 5” in diameter. It’s a very well made piece that would be the perfect complement to any Western themed décor. I believe it is copper with bronze finish, because you can see some copper on the bottom of his feet, a few other areas. The elephant measures approximately 3 inches tall(top of his trunk) 5 1/4 inches wide. The elephant is in good condition; no cracks or repairs. With some mild wear to the finish, some whitish spots behind his back legs. At first I thought he was an unsigned piece, but when I got him in the light I saw the JB initials. The tray is in good shape with a nice patina[on the back] and a major cleaning, though natural[on the front] and only minor signs of wear. It measures 6.5" long and 4.50"tall" FL-52. This is an ongoing trend and these individuals seem to complain if silver prices go down between the day they buy and the day they receive. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. Antique Asian Ewer Teapot This pot is extremely detailed and Unique I believed it is made out of bronze. But I'm am not 100% and not familiar with these tea pots. There are colorful stones around the pot with one missing front left when facing the pot spout. Look at the pictures to see the detailed dragons and faces. I can't find a makers mark on this Teapot. This pot measures 9 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches from spout to handle and it's very heavy. I saw a very similar one on antique roadshow. As the story goes Jensen made 1051 of these boxes. One for the King. Fifty for the higher staff and one thousend for the workers. The one for the king was naturally made out of gold, the higher staff were given a silver one and the workers could enjoy a copper/bronze one. It measures approximately 8-5/8" tall and just shy of 11" long. There are uniform small holes- one on the top of the head. And two near the mouth where reins would normally be placed, one on the back of the tail, and a larger, more crude hole under the tail. Not sure what they are for. This is a cast bronze or copper plaque or bas relief of President Lincoln. Signed and monogrammed(in reverse) by listed sculptor Randolph Johnson. There is a 7 and a 0 on either side of his name, so it may have been completed in 1970. Not sure. The solid wood plaque measures 15-1/2 x 12 x 1-1/2 inch deep. The face measures 11 inches long and 9-3/4 inches wide. The following information comes from Askart: A sculptor of allegorical figures. Illustrator and craftsperson, Randolph Johnston, born in Toronto, Canada, he was also a long-time teacher at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Very hard to find anything remotely along the lines of these. I have not been able to locate a maker's mark. But they are obviously expertly done. They stand 6" tall and the plate portion is 7" wide. Antique 1930's Rare Trojan Horse Head Bookends Trophy Craft LA Copper/Bronze
Trojan Horse Bookends Trophy Craft c.1930 Up for auction are these beautiful original Art Deco machine age style"Trojan Horse" bookends manufactured by the Trophy Craft Company based in Los Angeles. These are a rare find! They have been glued in one spot from a previous break which shows on the back. These have their natural patina. I have not polished them. During the 1930's there was competition between trophy makers Dodge. Trophy Craft and Champion. Each company produced works that were very similar in idea or style. However, it unknown who copied whom, but it is clear that both Dodge and Trophy Craft produced some of the finest metal-ware in the form of trophies, bookends, and ashtrays during the period. These vintage bookends measure 7 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches and are priced for the pair.
