SHIPS WORLDWIDE! Stately and heavy! This piece is made of metal and has the B&H foundry mark(Bradley& Hubbard) on the back. It has the bust of Dickens. Hence the thought it is a bookend. Due to its weight, would make a great doorstop as well since it weighs almost 3 1/2 pounds. The piece is about 5" wide by 6.5" tall and 2.5" deep, being the larger piece made by B&H it is harder to come by. Some of the original felt is still on the bottom. In good used condition with patina and some signs of age and use. The metal looks to be a brass or bronze color with the weight of cast iron. I'm told these were cast iron pieces. Extremely rare pair of large. Heavy, Bradley and Hubbard antique bookends featuring a thoroughbred horse standing in front of a fence gate. Circa 1920. This set is exquisitely detailed from the horses saddle, bridle, reins, stirrups to the wood grain and latch on the gate. The rear has the classic dimpling from the sandcasting technique used for the cast iron. Each bookend stands 7 1/4" tall, 8" long, 3" deep and weighs 4 lbs. 12 oz. 9 lbs. 8 oz. for the pair) They are in very good condition. There is no damage and no repairs. This is a very high quality antique 19th century solid cast iron and bronze floor ashtray smoking stand. It is extremely ornate and made from thick material making it extremely heavy. The base is made from solid cast iron and is beautifully footed with detailed scroll feet. the large lower part of the shaft is equally as ornate and made from thick cast iron. there are three bronze roped style arms with solid hammered bronze arrow tips at the top holding the ashtray. there is also a bronze shaft running up the center of the stand. the ashtray is very large and made from a beautiful bronze which has great engraved detailing. it has several grooves to hold cigarettes or cigars and a large ornate bronze handle which is also beautifully engraved. it is hand riveted to the ashtray with nice brass rivets. the piece has a wonderful patina from age. ... moreIn nice shape, and measures 23 inches by 11 1/4 inches wide. Up for bid: adorable one solid piece of cast iron. Bronze, spelter, metal of some sort very heavy hippopotamus. I have done some research on this piece but not extensive. It has brought me to possibly being a Bradley and Hubbard maybe around the 20'a or 30's. It has a few little dings one on the base that you can see in the picture under, his chin he has a little chip of paint coming off and on his snout is a black dot not very noticeable in person but showed up in the picture. Antique Iron Art Denmark Bronze Cast Metal Medieval Ornate box Battle Lyndanisse
Up for auction is an antique Iron Art bronzed cast metal casket style trinket box. It depicts the famous Battle of Lyndanisse during the northern crusades by the Danes. Here is the history behind the battle. Or you can skip to the next paragraph for the description of the box. In 1219, Valdemar II of Denmark continued the Danish conquest of the German Baltic Islands begun by his brother, Canute VI. At the Battle of Lyndanisse, near Reval, the Danes were battling the pagan Estonians. Weary and facing defeat, a critical turning point in the battle came when a red and white banner came in to the possession of Valdemar. Legend says the banner fell from the sky following a crash of thunder, landing in the arms of an archbishop, who heard a voice saying“When you raise this banner against your enemies they will yield before you” A messenger was ... moresent to King Valdemar with the banner and communication. The King held it high over the troops, and this divine approval encouraged the Danes to victory. Rallying under this new banner, which went on to become the national flag of Denmark, the Danes threw back the Germans and went on to seize all of Estonia. This flag, called Dannebrog, or“Danish Cloth” is the oldest flag in the world still in use and has been adopted by other Nordic countries. The inside of the lid has a description of the legend, in both Danish and English, under a banner reading"15.Juni Anno 1219 June15th" Box is wood lined and the wood is in nice shape. The back of the box is marked"Iron Arts Copenhagen Denmark" Believe box is circa early to mid 20th century. Box has nice patina and is in great shape. Very well constructed and heavy. Pair of Very Ornate Antique HUBLEY Brass/Bronze Cast Iron PIRATES Bookends #213
Up for auction is this pair of antique brass or bronze covered cast iron Hubley bookends. These are very ornate in the casting of 2 pirates carring shovels and a treasure chest with clouds and a very detailed ship in the background. Also detailed are some palm trees and even the g round they are carrying the treasure chest over. The faces. Hands and even the hats and clothing are very well detailed out. Both are marked 213 on the backs of the bookends. One of the bottoms has the remnants of the pad on the bottom, the other is gone due to the age. Each end measures about 5-1/8" x 5-1/8" I believe these are from the 20's or 30's and all original. See the pictures for details. Bid with confidence and thanks for looking!

Vintage SCULPTURE AXE TREE LOG Woodsmen Door Stop HEAVY Cast Iron Bronze Steel ?
This is a fantastic Vintage Sculpture! It is a very heavy metal. Not sure exactly but the base looks and feels to be cast iron or steel and has a coating on it like bronze and the axe looks like it is made of steel. It is of a log/tree stump with an axe in it, the stump measures 6 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" round and the axe measures 5 3/4" tall making this a total of 12" tall. This can be used as a door stop as well. It is in good condition and very unusual, I could not find any makers/artists marks on it. This came from my great aunt's estate. She was a woman of wealth& high stature in her community. I think this doorstop is bronze. Due to it's color and poor magnetic attraction. It could be iron bronze plated. Which ever it is a very nice old piece. I can find no makers mark.

Antique Bronze Bells Cast Iron Church Facade and Ferris Wheel Sculpture 1900's
For your consideration we have an antique hand crank ferris wheel with six bronze bells. It has a wonderful appearance with two early pueblo style church facades on which the ferris wheel with the bells rests. On one side has a hand crank so the bells can be spinned around. The six bells are made of bronze.Each of them with a different pattern.The three small ones have a height of 1.5" with 2" diameter while the bigger ones have 2" height with almost 3" diameter. One bell has the clapper missing. The church facades stand 6 1/2" inches tall with around 3" wide and the highest point of the sculpture is at 8" All together it weight almost 4 lb. It is a hand-made piece and you can even see the tools marks all over it. Its covered almost in its entirety with greenish patina which makes it even more a very nice ... morepiece. It would make an excellent decor item for your house office or another great addition to your bells collection. Antique Bradley& Hubbard Cast Iron Bronze Finish Flower Basket Doorstop with Original Label on the Bottom(faded) The back edge has the impressed B&H trademark and it still retains both rubber bumpers- showing this as a true doorstop and not a single bookend. Measures 8 5/8" tall and 5" wide. Weighs nearly 5 pounds. The iron has a bronze/ brass color finish which shows normal wear and a great patina. The finish on this particular doorstop is correct and original, some were painted in many colors and some like this were a single color finish. No cracks or chips, excellent condition. Tazza or centerpiece in the design is by by Berlin's most famous architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel(1781-1841) in the neoclassical style during the Biedermier period. Approximately in 1820.
