Arts Crafts Hand Hammered Finely Planished Copper Brass Trumpet Vase Erp-Style
Lovely Arts and Crafts Trumpet/Tulip Vase. This piece is finely hand-hammered out of fairly heavy-gauge brass and has some very fine planishing in the workmanship-it has a mellow brass copper patina with just a touch of sienna and a smidgen of earth green. It is 7 1/4inch high.The mouth of the vase and the base/foot of the piece are both an equal 4 inches across.I'm no expert but i have owned some old A&C Metalwork-a couple of Van Erps and two Roycrofts,and as a as a guesstimate i'd say this piece was at least pre 1940's and most likely 20's-30's or before.There are no cracks or noticeable dings,soldering on bottom seems fairly tight. This piece is unsigned and was probably created at a Vocational School or by someone in an apprenticeship program.

Vintage Hand Hammered Arts and Crafts Roycroft Bookends 8 1/2" by 5 3/4"
Up for auction is this great vintage pair of hand hammered Roycroft bookends. The copper bookends. Measuring 8 1/2" high by 5 3/4" wide by 3 3/4" deep, are decorated with elongated flowers on either side and the Roycroft lolo on the bottom. The finish is uneven on these bookends and I am not sure if this is intentional or due to wear. The height is great for larger books. This is a handsome hand crafted brass underplate. Probably for a flower pot/urn. It measures about 9" wide and 3" H. The design of leaves and grapes was acid etched, the two opposing riveted supports with the drop handles being hand applied and finished. This fits nicely into the Arts and Crafts/Mission movement and likely dates circa 1910-1930. It has what appears to be its original brass finish with very little wear, and a minimum of spotting on the exterior. The interior reveals that water had been present over the years.
