Antique or vintage China pewter lidded bowl with 4 stones
This is a lovely antique or vintage lidded bowl or pot made of pewter with hand applied branches and leaves. Each branch holding one of the 4 encrusted stones. It is marked"CHINA" on the bottom of the pot. Which is hard to see in the photos. There are 2 blue. 1 orange(coral? and 1 green(jade? stones, each measuring 1/2 inch long and over 1/4 inch wide. It is an estate find and is in very good condition for its age. There are some marks or minor scratches due to use and its age. It has some minor unevenness in the shape of the edges of the lid and bowl. And the bottom rim has a small dent due to the softness of the pewter. See photos. All in all, though, it looks good. The bowl part measures 3 1/2 inches tall by 4 inches diameter. With the lid it measures 5 inches tall. There is a nice elevated base ring around the bottom. Adding ... moreto the beauty of the shape of the pot. The lid has a concentric ring design with a rounded pointed bulb-type handle on top. The pot and lid together weigh one pound five ounces. RARE Find 8" Antique Vintage French Pewter Metalware Medium Water Pitcher Jar
A beautiful hand crafted very likely French Pewter/metalwork water pitcher. It has touch marks for France. Including tax marks, France is known for having the most complex hallmarking systems in the world. I could not identify the true age and maker, it has a knights head armor facing to the right with an H next to the face, has a long stem rose, has Etain, and legal titre, ALL 4 markings on the bottom of this piece. The embedding around the pitcher is a nice pattern and unusual, also could not ID it. Could be antique age but more likely Vintage, but not sure so I put both in the title. I measured it at 7 7/8" from base to pitcher tip. It has a couple of light/shallow dents around the bottom, see with photo, I did my best to capture them but it was difficult to get a very clear shot. Weighs 682 grams.
