Our best guess is a boot/shoe scraper or a"log dog" tool for holding small logs in place, or for driving into a log to be used as a work support. You may know better than we do! It has an elongated"H" shape with two spike-like end pieces connected by a flat crossbar. The overall dimensions of this piece are about 6 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches tall. This piece was crudely hand-forged together and designed for utility, not perfection. It is definitely iron/ferrous, and does attract a magnet. An interesting old piece for display or creative use. z CONDITION: Very Good. This is a very old. Used, barn fresh” piece, left just the way we found it. It is very solid and interestingly made. We have not polished or cleaned it up in any way. Antique Early Primitive Hand Forged Cooking Tongs Folkart
Such a rare unique piece of antique iron. Hand forged with pounded rivet in the hinge. Cutout decorations could be from Pennsylvania? Small tongs used in cooking. Probably outdoor cooking. 13 3/4" in length, 2 1/2" wide at widest part, by the teeth. The teeth appear to be added onto the iron one by one. I tried to show this in the photo. This is a wonderful piece of functional folkart and a work of art in itself. Other than the superficial surface pits, to be expected for it's use and age, this is in remarkable condition. The Top Collar of the Rectangular Bottle was applied separately to the Bottom of the Bottle. Today the bottle seams run continuously top to bottom. The seams give a good idea of the age. Most Medicinal Bottles are of this shape. Used in Pharmacies to hold concentrated liquids. Hand forged with three legs all seems to be one piece. the handle is a little crooked but it is heavy as the dickens. look at all the scanned pics closely to see the wear and dings etc. Very heavy primitive Solid Brass- very old and looks to have been used as an ash pot by the interior darkness. Really great primitive authentic antique solid brass. Amazing actually. Measures 6" in height. With a 5&1/2" opening across- three legs and the heavy handle. I could'nt find anything like it listed and am not really sure what it is or how it was used. I purchased it at an estate sale from an old farmhouse outside Nashville. Tn. The lady was in her 70's and she explained that her mother had given it to her so I am thinking late 1800's/ early 1900's. It looks to be hand forged and the scissors are spring loaded. Antique Hand Made Forged Hammered Pitcher perfect patina, holds water!
This is a spectacular pitcher that has been tucked away in a barn for many years. It has JUST the right amount of patina to show off flowers or just as a decorative item. Let your imagination go with it! This pitcher has a lot of copper in it. Reflected by the pretty copper patina on the body. I guess it is considered tin. I aged it at 1800 to 1849 because I would imagine after 1849 pitchers did not have to be handmade. It may be much older. It is 10 inches tall if you measure from the pouring lip edge, and 9 inches from the back where the handle is. It is about 10 inches wide from edge of pouring lip to edge of hand forged handle. This is the real deal folks! and hard to find.

Antique French Hand Forged Iron Hammered Copper Dovetail Pot Kettle Cauldron
This is a fantastic original VERY OLD antique copper cauldron that came over from France with its previous owners in the middle of the 20th century. Although it is much older than that. It is in good condition with obvious wear from age and use with a gorgeous aged patina with verdigris. The dovetail construction is evident on the side under the hand forged iron handle. There is also an iron band around the top. All of the seams are tight, nothing is separating, there are no holes or cracks, and the damage is limited to a few dents and dings along with some scuffs and scratches from use and some charring on the bottom surface from use over a fire. There is also some residue on the inside from use. It measures 13" in diameter x 11" H, not including the handle. It will be packed very well and insured during shipping.

This hung ouside the saw mill in Massachusettes for almost 150 years with touchups to the sign portion. The 75 year old former owner remembers it hanging out there when he was a kid and said it was there forever before that. Antique HAND HAMMERED COPPER POT w/ HANDLE Forged Handmade Cauldron Kettle Vtg
Please read my listing thoroughly and view all 12 of my PHOTOS: This is an antique hand-hammered solid copper pot. The handle is also hand-hammered solid copper. Measures about 9" in diameter at the widest point, 7 3/4" in diameter at the top. 5 3/8" high not including the handle. To the top of the handle it is about 9 1/2" high. Total weight is 2.84 pounds. This pot is in good condition, it has not been cleaned or restored-it has typical aging and tarnish, the patina is very nice. It is fairly symmetrical considering it is hand-made, it has some expected uneven areas in the handle and elsewhere. I have posted 12 photos, all are of the actual item I am selling here. Measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handles, 5 3/8" tall to top rim of pot, 6 1/4" across top rim of pot, 9" from end of handle to other sides rim, 4 3/4" across bottom base rim.
