ANTIQUE HAND HAMMERED COPPER SAUCE PAN ~ DOVETAILED ~ 18th/19th c.
This is an antique copper sauce pan for the collector of old kitchen copper. It is approximately 4 ¼” in height with a top diameter of 8” and a handle length of 8 ½” The pan is heavy and weighs approx. 3 lbs. It holds a little over 3 quarts in liquid. The sauce pan is entirely handmade and has a tinned interior and a handmade copper handle which is secured to the body by a heart shaped mounting with three copper rivets. The pan is of dovetailed construction. However. Where generally the body is joined by a single vertical brass braised dovetailed seam, this piece is seamed vertically on two sides. This is not particularly common. The bottom is also dovetailed as you would expect. In addition, the pan bottom has an old dovetailed patch where it was once repaired. This is a country piece and would have been too valuable to discard ... moreif there were a hole in the bottom. Instead it was more cost effective to have the pan repaired by a smith or traveling tinker. The repair on this pan is nearly as old as the pan itself. Having lasted all this time it has become part of the bona fides of the pan. Overall. This sauce pan is in good condition for its’ age. It has all of the usual dings of generations of use and wear but no dents. The handle is tight and the rivets are secure. The body of the pan still plainly shows the planishing or hammer marks used to create it. The item is not marked as to who made it or when. Most antique kitchen copper is not marked so this is no surprise. The fact that the pan is a country piece and handmade complicates the issue since the construction techniques were the same for generations. Based on our own experience, we would think that this sauce pan was made in the late 18th or early 19th century. This is a nice old item which has been displayed in our home for many, many years. Antique Dovetailed Gooseneck Copper & Brass Tea Kettle Pot Early English (?)
Nice large oval copper and brass tea kettle. This is an area that I honestly do not know much about. But I try to describe all items as accurately as possible. The kettle stands about 11 inches tall, and is almost 12 inches from spout to back. The outside portion is copper, with a brass handle and a brass ring around lid portion. The inner portion seems to be copper, but may be tin lined. Lid is copper with a brass knob, and the inner portion of the lid is tin lined. This kettle looks exactly like a lot of the early English kettles that are circa 1700-1800's, although I surely wouldn't attempt to date it. I do know dovetailing is an art, and this kettle has true dovetailing around spout, on the bottom, and a vertical seam on the back portion. There does seem to be a makers mark on the handle closest to the spout(see pic) that looks ... morelike a whimsical T. There are no holes and it holds water. This kettle does have some dings that show it's age and character, but no major damage. I have not attempted to clean this item myself, and chose to let patina show. I am confident that someone has attempted to clean it at some point before I received it. As I stated earlier- this is an area I do not know much about so Please refer to all photos before bidding! This is a stunning antique handmade 19th century copper kettle/ pitcher. it resembles the shape of a moonshine still and has a good look to it. completely hand hammered and beautifully dovetailed together. it is made from very thick copper and has acquired a wonderful patna from age. the handle is very thick and also made from copper which is hand riveted to the pitcher with nice heavy duty copper rivets. the base is done in a circular shape and the copper wraps around the body. the top of the body has nice decorative hand engraved detailing. the piece measures 12 1/4 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches wide. it is in nice shape. Rare Antique Copper Mixed Metal Dovetailed Pitcher
Dovetailed Copper Mixed Metal Pitcher Antique copper and other metal dovetailed pitcher with ruffled opening and long spout(4 1/2" The pitcher seems to be made of copper and another metal which may be brass. There looks to be some loss of the copper. It looks as though the pitcher was fused together as shown in close-up photos. There is also a pattern along the shoulder of the pitcher and around the spout. Note crack around spout; spout is loose. The pitcher looks like it was much loved and often used-it has the wear including the dings that comes from the love and frequent use. Handle is tight and attached to pitcher with what look to be rivets with rough edges as shown in the photos. The pitcher sits flat without any wobble. The bottom of the pitcher has a recessed center that is a whitish-gray. Approximate dimensions: 10" tall ... morex 10 1/2" from handle to end of spout; 3" diameter across top opening; 4 1/4" diameter of base. It weighs approx. 4.3 pounds. Note condition of inside of pitcher-shows age and wear. It is recommended for decorative use only. This pitcher is old and shows age and wear as the photos show. I have not tried to clean it. Great Large Arts & Craft Antique/Old seamed/dovetailed/hammered copper vessel
This vessel has seam. Dovetailing& hammered/punched work, has all the looks and patina of a great collectible piece of copper. Some wear with few dents and dinks from age and use. Spout has a cork in it and top opening had like a wire mesh that has all fallen off as it was rotten kinda appeared to be a type of screen. I was going to clean as I started on bottom but stopped and left for new owner. Pictures tell all I have wrote and more. Looks like some brass was also in the making, not an expert so not sure. approx. 13 1/2" tall, base 8/4" and from end handle to spout 8" Held water. Very sturdy. Antique English Mid 19th Century Dovetailed Copper Kettle Teapot Description Here we have a great 19th Century copper and brass kettle. It measures 12 inches high to the top of the handle and is 11 1/2 inches long to the tip of the spout. It has a"U" on the bottom and I believe a"7" on the handle end. It has a beautiful acorn shaped knob on the lid and the handle has hand riveted attachments. Note the braised dove tail construction on the body of the kettle and the spout. It has an age appropriate patina and minor imperfections from 100 years of use. A wonderful display piece for any decor. If you intend to use this for boiling water it should be re-tinned. Shipping weight. Well packed, is 6 lbs. Insurance has been added to the shipping cost as per Ebay's mandate. Antique Copper Daubiere Dovetailed - Lid Markings
This is a wonderful antique copper Daubiere. I believe it to be French or English. It has a lid that is inset and has three etches to the lid and the base to indicate how the lid should be placed. It is 12" in length by 8" in width and 7" high. You can see the discoloration to the interior tin where there was a steamer rack but it is no longer with the pot. The tin lining although discolored is in good usable shape. The brass lid handle and side handles are wonderfully detailed and sculpted. The pot is unmarked except for the lid etchings. But I believe it to be either English or French. The pot is dovetailed down the side and around the base.

Antique Copper Pot With 3 Brass Handles. Completely Hand Forged/Made. With dovetailed seem on side. Handles are decorated and riveted to pot. Measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handles, 5 3/8" tall to top rim of pot, 6 1/4" across top rim of pot, 9" from end of handle to other sides rim, 4 3/4" across bottom base rim. Has Makers Mark on bottom surface. But unsure of maker and exact age, mark looks Middle Eastern/Islamic. Dates around early-late 19th Century. Please see photos for details. Click Here. Antique Egg White/Candy Mixing bowl - dovetailed
This is a very rare antique copper"dovetailed" egg white/candy bowl. Most often these are not dovetailed around the bottom It has wrought iron handles and is 13" in diameter by 6 1/2" deep. There is no tin lining as it is meant to beat egg whites or create candy. It is very usable and displayable. Ask all questions before bidding as I do not provide refunds.
