Up for auction is an antique copper mold from the 19th century. I've purchased it in Germany fifteen years ago. It is beautiful. Large, heavy gauge copper, hand hammered and tin lined. An impressive decorative object in any kitchen. If you plan to use it, you should have it relined(even though the lining seems intact and complete) A beautiful form for baking Guglhupf or pound cakes and also for jelly or puddings. The mold is in great condition and has a beautiful patina(I've only dusted it)It has only a small ding on one of its top bulges. The Skye Terrier in Scotland who mourned his master and there is a monument to him in the town. But with his long body and furry coat he also looks like a Scottish Terrier. Or possibly a Dandy Dinmont Terrier. Many dog breeds in the 19th century looked quite different than they do today and this little bronze dog ... moredates from the late 19th century. This happy pup measures almost 4 inches tall and he is sitting on a round bronze base which is filled with old plaster and has"Dave T-s" written on it in pencil. Antique 19thc. French BEVELED GLASS Casket Jewel Box & Watch Holder Stand
Description ANTIQUE JEWEL CASKET& WATCH STAND Striking antique 19th century beveled glass jewel casket or trinket box stand measuring about 3" square and 6" tall. Whimsically designed in the shape of a tall back chair. It is made of ormolu bronze with faux Bamboo bracket legs as well as beveled mirror back arms. Complete with a loop hanger for displaying a watch from the top of the dome mirror, all sides are set with thick, beveled glass windows held in place with tiny brass teeth. Lid top is mounted with a thick padded cushion- interior has the same padded velvet insert- this is old, but probably a replacement- feet are slightly splayed. Condition is very good- latch opens and closes easily and snaps shut securely- the hinge is original and in perfect working condition- there is no lifting of the teeth- only thing of note is ... morea bit of age related discoloration and patina to the back of the mirror with a few fine rubs to the window glass- typical age related usage marks. Thick bevelled glass has tiny flakes on several corners and some minor chipping as well- does not detract a bit and unless you are looking for them. They are difficult to see. thanks for viewing this Antique Cast Iron Bulldog Figural Still Bank in superior condition. Piece was purchased about thirty(30) years ago. And has a viable provenance, in my opinion) believed as being made around the turn-of-the 19th Century. It has a detailed collar, tucked tail, and'pooch-mouthed' face, with a'muscular' body form. Measurements: 3-1/4" height, by 4-3/4" from nose to tail; width between back hips is 2-3/8" and width between front shoulders is 2-1/4" The coin slit in upper neck is about 1" length, and there are five(5) holes in dog's under-side. Traces of old Red and Brown paint are still present. Patina is great, but with some areas showing rust; primarily to'interior' but a;so has a spot of rust near base of tail. Pewter of the Western World, page 151) Of nicely detailed baluster form on a graduated base with a pattern of drilled small circular holes to the top. Such holes suggest this piece was used as a castor for pepper or other spices rather than as a sugar sifter which typically had larger and more fanciful openings in the top. It is unusual to find marked castors and while this one carries no maker's mark. It does have a Crowned X to the bottom. In very good antique used condition. With typical wear, more so to the top than to the body- the top sits snugly and tightens and un-tightens properly. At some viewing perspectives there is a slight tilt to the top's finial and there are also four nicks to this finial. Please see the photos. Chinese 19thc Champleve' Antique Ceramic Shard Tobacco Box, Tea Caddy
Made available is an old Chinese handwork champleve tea box with antique lotus ceramic shard inset. There are 4 separate champleve panels around the box. The piece is incised"China" on the bottom base. The condition is mostly good. With minor handcrafting/ manufacturing imperfections unique to this piece. There is also a small interior enamel chip. There is age-related dust/dirt buildup in crevices. The lower metal rim on the lid has partially pulled apart from the round flat top area of the lid. We did not show this in pics. As we don't wish to force it apart, should it cause further splitting. It could probably be soldered for an easy fix, if one chose to do so. The split is not evident visually; and is only noticeable if handling the lid. The function is unaffected; as the top fits easily over the bottom half; but not too ... moreloosely. No twisting or rough handling is involved with opening or closing the lid. The diameter across the mouth is approximately 5"across. The lidded box measures about 3" high X 5" wide.
