VERY RARE Pilgrim Century Brass Candlestick, 17th or 18th Century
Candlestick is from the late 17th or early 18th century. Pilgrim Century era. It is brass. The overall height is 7 3/16" The candle cup has cut-out sides. Allowing an easier removal of the candle wax remains, over a tall column with two ring turnings, over a flared rim base. The primary and underside interior surfaces have been cleaned. 17th Century Malines Bronze Hand Bell Belgium / Flemish Monastery call to prayer
I honestly do not know much about this item. I have done some research and I believe it to be an authentic 17th century Flemish monastery or call to prayer bell. Other related bells I have found online refer to Malines. Belgium. I believe these are quite rare and I have been told that this is an exceptionally nice one from the period. It is solid bronze and quite heavy at just under two pounds in weight. and just under 7 1/2" tall. It is very loud, which I suppose it had to be if it was used as a call to prayer bell. I think it has been polished sometime within the last fifty years or so. This is exactly the way I found it. I have not cleaned it in any way. I have included as many detailed pictures as I could.
