Antique 14" in Diameter Round Hand Carved Wood Door Insert ~ Maine Estate Find!
Description When we cleaned out my friend's father's estate last year we found hidden under his work bench this interesting handcarved round sculpture that I think may have been part of a door at one time. May have come from a piece of furniture. It's an attractive piece and would look nice framed and hung or put back into a piece of furniture. The piece is approximately 14" in diameter and weighs about 3.3lbs. Thickness is approximately 1 1/2" Appears to be made of hardwood and. If I had to venture a quess, I would say oak. It has an old varnish on it, which stops about 1/2" from the edge, which convinces me it was part of a piece of furniture or door. 2 Primitive Rustic Rusty Iron File Cabinet Drawer Pulls Door Pulls Insert Label I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently- a real catfish moment. Because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! Just like the last pair that I listed. I was told that these are old file cabinet drawer/door pulls- the kind where you insert a label, but you really could use them for any type of drawer/door handle and the label will not be missed. Love the rustic-ness of them- they are made from iron and each one is covered with a layer of surface rust- it's surface only- no holes, sharp edges, etc. and they are in excellent solid, sturdy condition structurally. ... moreI'm looking at the backs and think I see peeks of an old finish- most of it is long gone, especially on the front. I want to point out that the rust is so old, it's just part of the finish now- dark and rustic. Each one measures 3 7/8" wide(not including the screw mounts that stick out another 1/4" on either side) by 2 1/2" tall. The screw holes are 3 3/4" apart center of hole to center of hole. When mounted, the handles will stick out about 3/8. The bottom of the handle is where there are two notches that hold the label in place, and thern there's two more notches on the side that hold it in place there. The label space is actually 2 5/8" wide(so they wouldn't take up the whole width of the handle) and each are 3/4" tall. Each handle weighs 3 ounces. Some old white paint remains on the enck area of the knobs and the face plates. These brown marble swirl design look like Bennington Pottery's kind but not sure if I can state that they are Bennington's. Rod through one's door measures 1/4" square. If you see any tiny areas missing brown it's only the reflection of the flash or might be a tiny speck of paint I missed. I have a bunch of old house door keys so if I have time I will try to find one that works. No one had cut a hoile for the area in the door on this one so at this point it doesn't come with one. Ornate Wood Burning Stove Door with Tile Insert
This is one beautiful door for an old wood burning stove. We have no idea what stove this went to. But we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to offer it. The door is made of cast iron and appears to be in very good condition. There does not appear to be any significant rust and what little rust there is appears to be only on the surface. The handle appears to have originally been nickel-plated. Much of which has worn off. The centerpiece of this door is the beautiful ceramic tile insert. We cannot guarantee that this was the original tile. But is does appear to be old as a careful inspection shows some light crazing. The door measures about 20” long and 12” tall. The door hinges are not broken and the original pins are still in place. One of the latches might be broken. But it is hard to tell since it is worn so smoothly. There is a thin sheet ... moremetal protector on the inside that does show significant rust damage. But is not visible and could easily be replaced if desired. Two(2) doors with magnetic closure open to two(2) shelves which have a ledge to prevent jars from falling forward. Cabinet has wooden knobs. Cabinet contains 16 glass spice jars which are marked. Bottle Made in Japan. Most jars have labels and there are still some extra labels for use. Jars have glass lids with tight fitting plastic stoppers. Jars measure 4" T and 1-1/2” in diameter and have no chips, cracks or repairs. Spices in the jars are old and should be removed and not consumed. Cabinet has two(2) metal hangers for hanging or it can set on counter. Cabinet is in great condition with only minor scuffing. Nicks and signs of wear. Beautiful front-entry wooden door with oval glass insert. Dimensions are 36" x 79 1/4. We like the door. But we really wanted a door without the glass in the middle. This is an excellent quality, HEAVY, solid door. The contractor that hung our new door said this looks like it's mahogany. I have included several pics so you can see its details. There is a kick plate on the outside. I do not know what brand of door this is. There is no hardware included(hinges. Doorknob, dead bolt, etc. There is 1 small nail hole on the outside, and two even smaller ones inside on the top right that were part of a previous alarm system.
