Ideal for reproduction or wonderful used as a decorative textile for any timeworn interior! This textile is an antique French Provencal quilt ~ this textile is two sided the red back side is a wonderful pairing of two fabrics manufactured later than the front ~ The neutral browns side of this textile are wonderfully early dating from c1800-1820~ most likely printed at the Jouy factory ~ this textile has a Fenetre composition in which one fabric is bordered by another. This is the most complicated piecework tradition to Provencal quilts. The autumnal tones on the front side of this quilt are simply stunning ~ The central square was printed using hand carved wooden blocks and is one piece of fabric, rather than being pieced. This side is bordered using a wonderful block printed over-dyed cotton. The central square may have been produced as a scarf and later used to create this amazing textile. The border of the central square is an extraordinary printed piece with wonderful vermicular design on the sides. These fabrics are called called Ramoneur and were woodblock printed. These fabrics can not be exposed to water without risk of extreme damage to the fabrics as the mordants that were used to print these textiles were corrosive with time ~ so this textile is not suitable for water washing ~ The opposite side I would date to c1850-1860. Ornate antique early 1900s French/German bronze dresser jewelry box with a painted portrait of a young man. These are usually French and I believe it is French. But there is a piece of printed paper underneath the velvet in the lid that has German printed words. So, that is why I listed it as French/German. The miniature portrait is painted on a thin slice of ox bone. This beautiful box is in good condition, but has a few dents on the bottom.The green soft velvet interior has some stains and, should most likely be replaced. The box has relief of rose garland on the sides and a rope twist around the top. The lid opens and closes just fine, but the top velvet circle needs to be glued in place it keeps falling out when I open the lid. The box measures 2 7/8" in diameter and is 1 3/8" tall. We are pleased to offer this wonderful. Old, antique pair of candlesticks. This petite pair dates to the 19th century. They are a beautiful representation of French ormolu. They are Rococo in style and feature very detailed and ornate design. The pair are gilt bronze which has a nice thickness. They have beautiful bases with"plant stem" center columns. The stems lead to a large opened bloom that rests under the three, ascending height candle holders. The candle holders have very detailed leaves and vines that seem to wrap around them. There are two large flowers on the top sections; one faces front, the other faces the back. The candle wax drip cups are also in the form of multi petaled flowers. The pair is very ornate and extremely detailed. They are quite old and they take a smaller circumference taper candle as traditional tapers ... moreare too large to fit into the cups. The pair have screw thread that holds the cups in place and that runs down the center column. The pair are in very good condition for their age. There is some aging to the gilted patina but the pair still retain the gilted appearance. Each candelabra measures 13" tall. The bases are 4.5" wide and the top sections measure 9.5" wide. This bust was made at a French foundry right around the year 1900 and has a little brass title plaque that reads LIBELLULE PAR A. de RANIERI(Sculptr) Libellule is the French word for dragonfly and Aristide de Ranieri. The statue is of an Art Nouveau stylized woman in a long flowing gown with partially exposed breasts. The woman has flowers in her hair and is admriing a butterfly which is down on her side. Antique E Jullien/Paris (1880-1900) French Gilt Bronze Tray/Dish/Valet
This is a beautiful antique french gilt bronze that was made by the E Jullien Foundry in Paris between the years of 1880 and 1900. The foundry was only active then. There is a mark engraved on the bottom that says"E Jullien/Paris/12 Rue Pasquier. I have already mentioned the flaws- the gilt is missing from most of the woman's body. There are some nicks and scratches, but it is still very beautiful. I find especially charming the fact that the woman's hair goes down the side of the dish, and you can also see her arm resting there from the side. I am selling this for a friend(this belonged to her aunt) And neither of us know anything about antiques, but I did look up the foundry and found some very good prices for the objects made there. It is approx imately 5 1/2" long by 3 1/4" wide. And weighs 15 ounces. I haven't ... moretried to clean it. The scene portrayed is that of a curly haired boy who is petting the head of his dog as a reward for sitting up so nicely. Next to the bully is a thimble shape molded onto the base that acts as a holder for a real thimble. This metal sculpture appears to cast from a spelter. Spelter is a blend of zinc alloys that was used for many 19th and early 20th century cast pieces of a lesser quality, such as figurines and candle sticks. As such, the modeling on this piece is rather crudely finished, though the little dog with collar looks rather good. Antique beautiful French lady sculpture on marble plinth 19th Art Nouveau
This is a lovely sculpture of a beautiful French lady sitting on a marble base or plinth. The woman is made of white metal and gilded and is in the art nouveau style. The sculpture is perched on a green and black marble plinth. The sculpture itself is 4 ½ inches high and it is 5 ¼ inches on the plinth. The sculpture likely started life as an ornament on a 19 th century French clock. The base was chipped in order to make the woman sit properly. The chips can not be seen when the sculpture is in place. There is some gilding loss to the woman. The woman may have been holding a spear or something when on the clock.

This is a wonderful and scarce Antique French or Italian Red Toleware Chinoiserie Decorated Monteith. The oval shaped monteith measures approximately 11-3/4" from handle to handle. It stands approximately 4-3/4" to the top of the scalloped rim. The monteith retains its original red. Gilt and black chinoiserie decoration with correct crazing of the finish. It is in wonderful estate condition. There are NO breaks. NO holes, NO repairs and NO replacements. It shows only age appropriate surface wear to the paint and decoration, as shown in the photos. This circa 1880 possibly older Gilded Bronze FOOTED TRAY has a border in crisp relief showing an abundance of French Country folks chatting, drinking from mugs, on horseback, reaping, and loading kegs onto a wagon, all entwined with vines. There is a bit of wear due to age in the center which shows the bronze color which looks like copper but I do believe it to be bronze although it could be copper. There is also a very slight visible ring in the center probably from something that was set on it. I have not tried to polish this out. Measuring 9.25" top-to-bottom and 13.25" in length. The tray is 1.25" high on its four little brass bun feet; the molded-relief front is backed ... moreby gilded and some gilding has rubs in the center-front wood-grained area, and on the back where hands would balance the tray for carrying, from a non-smoking environment. Up for Auction is an Pair 19th Century Antique French Jeweled Enamel Gilt Bronze Candlesticks. These beautiful antique French Gilt Bronze Candlesticks have a white enamel shell. Beaded, star, shield/jeweled, heart, design. The jewels look like garnets-have not tested them, being sold as red jeweled glass. I can not find a mark. Overall they are in good condition for their age. Both have one jewel missing on base, missing felt bottom on one, one bobeche missing, one bends slightly, can be straighten, each segment un-screws-together. Expected Wear. The antique urn's trivet base is formed brass with cast lion feet. The urn itself is turned brass with a detailed copper lid and finial. The Antique French coal hog measures 23" tall by 17" diameter overall. The urn is in overall great condition. It shows little wear with no major dents or scratches. It is in its original patina which has had a coat of clear applied many years ago to protect the polished finish. Offered- A very rare- very unique French Victorian Bronze Wall Shelve/ Sconce. Please note that the shelve is small- measuring 4 inches across the top and 3 inches in length. The shelve extends 2 1/4 inches from the wall at its widest point. The piece has beautiful detail- with a very stylized flora motif. The piece has a beautiful patina- I have not cleaned the piece but there are traces of old polish. The back of the piece has two loops for hanging. The enamel is all powders suspended in a liquid medium. So that while they are applied with a brush as if they were paint. The coloration is not true. All the unfired enamels are in shades of muted mauve. Blue, etc. and rarely come close to representing the color they will become upon kiln-firing the plaque. These enamels are laid out meticulously on copper plate. And fired in layers. Once fired. The enamels melt to a glassine finish which you see here, and which is often mistaken for fine porcelain. To get those powders of muted tones to lie upon and melt into the features of a face, the ... morefolds of clothing. The leaves of a bush or shaded gradations of sky is an amazing task. The bottle is cylindrical in shape and measures 6.5cms in height and 2.cms in diameter. The enameled body is decorated with a an angel feeding birds in idyllic surroundings which are all the way around the bottle and on the lid and base. the solid silver hinged enameled lid is hallmarked with the French boar’s head for Parisan.800 silver beginning 1838. The enamelled body of the bottle is in good antique condition, there is a chip on the left side of the scent lid near the silver border.
