RARE Polish Poland antique LION silver plated candlesticks candle holders brass
This is an antique pair of Polish/ Russian Shabbat candle holders. They are silver plated on top of brass. This pair is very rare. And are signed by the maker FABR. WOLSKA inside each of the bobaches. I consider these to be in fine condition. Over the years I have had only a few pairs of this design. But never a pair in such condition. They have full-bodied lions on each of the four sides. The lions are facing head to head with a snake that winds itself onto each of the feet. This pair is very lightweight. Perhaps one pound each. I would say that they retain about 99% of their original plating. I cannot see any traces of brass showing through. The bobaches are original. Each has a slight wobble to them. From over the years having one or two of the feet being bent. But I hesitate to move the feet as I like to keep my antique metalware in as-is ... morecondition. They stand about 13 1/4" high. Flowers in her hair, and holding a shawl in her hand. Her hair is styled in the classic Art Nouveau design. She is very lifelike and beautifully sculptured as are all of Philippe's works. She is dancing with her right hand in the air holding a shawl. The shawl only covers the back of her hand, an area above her shoulder and a small area by her legs. The rest of her body is not covered. Her sandals are beautifully designed with fancy ties. She has a lovely expression on her face very confident and very beautiful. The bronze measures 12-1/2 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of her hand. From the bottom of her sandal to the top of her head she measures 11 inches. RARE ANTIQUE FOOTED PEWTER TEAPOT ORIENTAL FIGURAL FINIAL C.1840 BIRM J DIXON
This exotic teapot has 8 curved panels to the body and lid. Decorated with repousse scrollwork. It sits on four acanthus leaf feet. And the handle also has an acanthus leaf motif, with two intact bone or horn insulators. The rare finial is a three dimensional gesturing Mongolian figure. Sitting cross-legged side-saddle, complete with headgear. His shirt. Possibly mail, is decorated with raised crosses. The detail is fabulous. To the underside is the maker’s mark“JAMES DIXON& SONS” used from 1835 to 1851. As well as some numbers whose significance is lost on us. Please see photos. The teapot stands 7” tall to top of finial and is 9 ¼” from the octagonal spout to handle. It is in very good used antique condition. With a couple of small indents around two of the feet, which may be part of the manufacturing process. The finial is loose ... moreand wobbles. We believe that it can be easily repaired. this is an exquisite pair of antique handmade Asian brass candle stick holders. they are very heavy and made from thick material. it is a matching pair and have a tri-footed leg which are in the shape of stylized dragons. it also has very ornate highly embossed scenes throughout the levels of the piece. and also has 2 detailed handles. it is signed on the botom by maker one measures 9 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches and has a wonderful patina from age. they can also be used for an incense burner. To be put in the middle of the base they are in great shape and very rare. one base has a small crack but not bad. It does still fit snugly on the little copper pieces, which, along with the nice tinning on the inside make it fully functional. Through research I found that Searle& Co. with the Lombard St. Markings resided at that location between 1896-1933 and then located in 1933 to an address at 1 Royal Exchange. Condition* Teapot has great shine left after a light polishing and gently cleaning to see the exact condition of what you were receiving. There is age appropriate ware and tare with minimal scuffs and dings. There is one larger ding on the teapot spout on the bottom of the spout. Light dings also on the teapot handle. antique rare handmade copper iron chafing pot dish food warmer burner heater old
this is a stunning antique large handmade copper and iron food heater warmer with stand and burners. it is Swiss made and signed at the bottom of the pot"Alla Monda" the pot is very large and made from thick copper with a great hand hammered finish. has thick copper handles on the sides and on the lid which all have great hand engraved detail. they are hand riveted to the pot with heavy duty copper rivets. the lid has a domed shape and sits nicely over the bottom pot. the pot has a great patina from age and is a heavy piece. it has a great wrought iron footed stand with swirled legs and 3 slots for burners. it was made this way to be able to use two burners at one for high heat or just to use on in the middle for low heat. the burners are also made from thick copper and have a hammered finish and have handled lids. the other handle ... morethat is connected to the burner turns and opens and closes the holes on the siders to control flame and heat. the inside of the burners contain basically one large wick and after adding fluid will light up perfectly. the burners sit nicely recessed into the base and sit off of the surface it sits. it is in good shape with no dents or pieces missing and has a great patina from age, it measures 18 1/2 inches long by 9 3/4 inches tall by 11 inches wide. great extremely rare one of a kind piece.
