DESCRIPTION This auction is for an early metal daisy or other flower basket doorstop. If I had to guess the age. I would guess pre-1900. It has been painted over, probably more than once. The mold has openings within the array flowers and are not white spots in the pictures. The back side of the mold is not flat and shows the casts of the flowers and basket. It stands 10" x 5-3/4" wide and weighs 5 pounds before packaging. It looks like it is marked on the bottom, but I'm not sure exactly what it says. It's either letters and a number or all numbers. I used steel wool on the back and bottom to locate the mark. Has had paint added. Some light surface rust. LOCAL PICKUP IS ALWAYS WELCOME. White spots or glare is from the camera flash. Antique English Leather/Metal Bucket w Coat of Arms
Offered- A very large English Leather over Metal(Galvanized? Bucket. This is a really spectacular piece measuring 12 1/2 inches tall. It is 6 1/2 inches in diameter at the base and 10 1/2 inches at the top. There is a great old English Coat of Arms on the front of the piece- with some loss- which just adds to the character. There is a very sturdy leather handle which is threaded through very sturdy hoops on each side of the body. The leather has a very nice reddish/chestnut patina which is in extremely good condition. The inside of the bucket is un-finished metal which I have not attempted to clean. This is a really nice piece- with a multitude of uses. Antique Figural Sewing Thimble Holder/Stand Child &French Bull Dog Spelter Metal
In the spotlight for your bidding consideration is this antique figural thimble stand featuring a child with his pet French bull dog! Standing roughly 3 3/4" tall and measuring 4 3/16" long. The scene portrayed is that of a curly haired boy who is petting the head of his dog as a reward for sitting up so nicely. Next to the bully is a thimble shape molded onto the base that acts as a holder for a real thimble. This metal sculpture appears to cast from a spelter. Spelter is a blend of zinc alloys that was used for many 19th and early 20th century cast pieces of a lesser quality, such as figurines and candle sticks. As such, the modeling on this piece is rather crudely finished, though the little dog with collar looks rather good. The metal has taken on a darkened patina with age and oxidation, and there are scratches and scuffs overall. ... moreIt has a spot of green on the dog and could use a cleaning. Charming. Heavy, high quality set of original Ronson bookends featuring a Cherub, Butterfly and Frog. The Cherub is sitting comfortably with her back resting on the book shaped backplate. She is holding the butterfly on her hand while down on the corner of the baseplate a tiny frog looks on. Adorable. This set is intricately detailed and in good condition. My dad collected clocks for many years and always thought he would find that special clock that needed her, but now that he has passed I am going to let her go to a better home. WOW! What an unusual antique this brass/bronze piece is! Two little girls on a seesaw. One holding a doll. Seesaw moves back and forth by hand. The vintage clothing and doll style show how very old this piece is. All original paint! Heavy Patina& paint loss. Selling it as I found it. There are 2 brass screws that hold each child onto their seats. One of the crews is missing from the girl with the doll. And she leans back because of this. see photo#5(an easy fix) The silvertoned base is dented on one side at bottom. It also appears to be brass under the coating. But I am not sure. Description: This auction is for an antique Jennings Brothers. Signed JB, metal elephant figurine. A magnet does not stick to the metal used. I believe it is copper with bronze finish, because you can see some copper on the bottom of his feet, a few other areas. The elephant measures approximately 3 inches tall(top of his trunk) 5 1/4 inches wide. The elephant is in good condition; no cracks or repairs. With some mild wear to the finish, some whitish spots behind his back legs. At first I thought he was an unsigned piece, but when I got him in the light I saw the JB initials. INCREDIBLE METAL URN I fell in love with this piece. Its so different and so pretty. Its metal and its got barbola swags on it and a marble base. The base isn't perfect, some chipping and some holes as you can see to the base. Its just so pretty though. IT also sits just the slightest bit crooked, I am sure if you just put a piece of paper under one foot it would be perfect. Just a cool decorative piece for the shabby chic collector.
