The lighter can lift out of the stand. And has an arm that lifts up. I don’t know much about lighters. And this is untested and I don’t know if it will work. The little friction wheel turns. But with great difficulty. The horizontal bar that it is mounted on has quite a bit of play. And can be moved back and forth. The lift up arm works well with good tension and closes with a snap. It looks to me like everything is there. But I’m not sure of that. Please ask questions if you need more information. The brass surface has a darkened patina that is somewhat uneven and splotchy in some areas. And there is little powdery polish residue in the crevices. There is one spot on the base that looks silver in color, so this may be brass plated and not solid brass– this spot can be seen in the photo with the soup can. There are a few dings on the back of the tail and on the rim of the round base. And some small dents/ripples on the edge of the cup that holds the lighter– see last 3 photos. Overall good vintage condition on this hard to find Hagenauer piece. This item will be shipped insured with signature required. Normal

Where famous artists as Franz Cizek and Michael Powolny were among his teachers. Under the direction of Josef Hoffmann he designed for the Wiener Werkstätte. In the 1920ies and 30ies he worked for well-known factories like Goldscheider, Augarten or Metzler+Ortloff. Additionally Walter Bosse designed for his own ceramic workshop which he founded 1919 in Kufstein. A sales store for these objects existed in the Viennese Hotel Bristol. As a consequence of the economic recession he was forced to close his workshop in 1937. After World War II he moved to Germany and designed. Mainly for the Federal Majolikafactory Karlsruhe, numerous figures of animals made of ceramic. Those objects became very popular in the 1950ies and 60ies. Original Franz Bergmann Wiener Bronze: Large Dachshund- black version We are offering this original Vienna Bronze(Wiener Bronze) Handmade in Vienna by the Franz Bergmann- Fuhrmann Company. The object bears the typical Bergmann"B enclosed in a jug" mark. This item is 155mm long(including the tail) Thats about 6 inches. As these figurines are still manufactured and painted by hand, small variations in detail or color, to the pictured object, are normal. Each item will be delivered in a velvet pouch together with a certificate by the manufacturer. The certificate will be signed and numbered and guarantees you that you received an original Bergmann figurine. About the production of these miniatures- the"Lost Wax Method" The actual material of the object is Brass. I think these figurines were called"Vienna Bronze" ... morebecause Brass was not that well known as Bronze. Achieving such a high level of detail on a rather small figurine requires a very complex and time intensive production process: Usually it starts with a rubber mould. Liquid Brass would destory the rubber and for this reason the figurine is in the first step casted out of wax. The wax figurine is used to prepare a negative made of some kind of plaster or clay: In a very special technique one or more wax figurines get placed inside a container. All that is covered with plaster or clay. The mould is dried and fired. This way the clay is getting hard while the wax is melting. A hollow space is created- the negative. This negative gets filled with liquid Brass. When the Brass is cooled down. It gets hard. The plaster around the brass core can be broken off and the figurines made of Brass are the desired result. These figurines will be cut off, their whole surface gets engraved by hammer and punch, and finally the items get marked with the traditional"Jug" mark and painted in a costly and detailled manner.
