There are two sets of four incised rings decorating the body. Engraved to the front is: F G Schmidt 1834 I’ve seen this style flagon also identified as a‘ Kanne’ Schnabelkanne’ or‘ Schnabelstitze’ in various books and auction listings. If not German, it certainly is still‘ Continental’ Struck to the center of the lid is what I believe to be a maker’s mark. Being what appears to be a Crown above a Square Box containing an‘X’ There are no other marks. Detail of mark shown in photos. There are nice turning lines to the interior and exterior of the base. As well as clear‘ linen marks‘ to the interior at the points of the upper and lower handle joins. General Condition: Good. The cup is raised on a footed base rather than sitting on a flat bottom. The body of the cup is decorated with a threaded pattern. The cup is monogrammed with'DL' in elegant script. This is a very sturdy and well-made piece. The interior is quite clean, however pewter cups are better for display than for use. This piece is in fabulous overall condition. There is a small dent slightly above and to the left of the monogram. There are no splits. No monogram removals, and no solder repairs. The cup stands 4 inches tall. RARE ANTIQUE FOOTED PEWTER TEAPOT ORIENTAL FIGURAL FINIAL C.1840 BIRM J DIXON
This exotic teapot has 8 curved panels to the body and lid. Decorated with repousse scrollwork. It sits on four acanthus leaf feet. And the handle also has an acanthus leaf motif, with two intact bone or horn insulators. The rare finial is a three dimensional gesturing Mongolian figure. Sitting cross-legged side-saddle, complete with headgear. His shirt. Possibly mail, is decorated with raised crosses. The detail is fabulous. To the underside is the maker’s mark“JAMES DIXON& SONS” used from 1835 to 1851. As well as some numbers whose significance is lost on us. Please see photos. The teapot stands 7” tall to top of finial and is 9 ¼” from the octagonal spout to handle. It is in very good used antique condition. Antique Pewter 8 3/4" plate American or English
Early plate just a hair under 8.75 inches across Unique and rare it is a very shallow plate under 1/2 inch Here is what I can say about this plate. While it has a tag that says American Henry Will which would place the plate as being made in the late 1700s. While it does have the characteristics of American make of that age. I cannot guarantee that it is a Will because the one reference I have on H Will marks does not seem to match although he did make 8.75" plates- as did other early American makers. Note the condition. Crack and hole in middle, bite" off rim, typical scratches and some light knife marks. Fine scratching all around the edge- almost seems like it was done on purpose to be decorative? Nice dark patina but not pitting through at all. About the marks- they are very faint. There looks to be the typical 4 small marks(sorry ... morecamera cannot do anything more to pick them up) The first looks to be a bird or eagle with wings spread. Second and third show a little but too far gone to venture a guess. Fourth could be the tops of initials. There may be a large touch that may be a lion rampant- but to be fair maybe I have my mind wanting some wear pattern to look like a touch- it is quite faint. So the markings are consistent with American make. But also with English makers. The booge is veryshallow and does not look to be hammered. Plate bottom has incribed circle line as do many American plates. So there it is. Issues but still very nice piece of pewter- and if you are better at identifying marks than I am, mabe you will find it to be as rare as I suspect. I have some other pewter listed. Antique European Heavy Pewter Tankard/Stein Embossed with Hunting Scene
This is a very old tankard. Most likely dating to 19th century, perhaps even earlier. It is made of very heavy and thick metal which I believe to be pewter and the surface is embossed with hunting scenes featuring hunters and dogs and this appears to have been done by hand. From what I have been told this tankard originally came from Europe. It is definitely quite unusual and it is obvious that it had been well used over the hundred years of its existence and there are signs of use. Marked with some kind of maker's mark or hallmark on the bottom but cannot decipher it. Please look at all the pictures to judge the condition. Item Description: You are bidding on an antique Harvard University academic three-handled trophy made by Nathaniel G. Wood& Sons of Boston probably in the period from 1890-1910. The trophy measures 5" high and is made of copper and pewter. I translated the Latin on the cup on Google and it reads something like: Academic Seal of Harvard- Christ and Church- Truth. There is a slight bend in the base. Some wear on the Harvard seal and some oxidation, but otherwise the trophy is in good condition. There is a makers mark of"N.G. Rare Antique Continental Pewter Punchbowl I am not really a pewter dealer. But I believe this old punch bowl is a very unusual form. I think it is beautiful, well designed and finely finished. I believe it is an early 18th century style, and could very well be of the period. Collectors and pewter dealers here on eBay will be able to determine the age from my photos, I am sure. The family had used this bowl as a centerpiece, there was a flower frog attached with clay in the bottom when I got it. The water has oxidized and scaled the interior somewhat, but the condition is otherwise excellent. This large bowl easily holds a gallon of punch. The hallmarks are the angel Michael with sword over a demon with the initials P I S the crowned rose mark appears to also have the I S on the clear right side of the touch. I assume a"P" would ... morebe on the missing left side. These may be maker or regional marks.I am not familiar with pewter marks. Something has been scratched out as my photos show.presumably a previous owner's name or inventory. The pewter finish is still in very good shape with only finish loss in common wear areas like the spout and around the rim. Has a wonderful turned lid handle in excellent condition. Check out the wonderful fluted design details where the handle and spout attach to the spout. ANTIQUE VTG PEWTER PLATE EUROPEAN TRIPLE REEDED WAVY EDGE BRITISH?
This is a vintage antique pewter plate that was purchased at an antique shop in Viterbo. Italy in 1987. It has fluted triple reeded wavy edges. It measures 7" across. It is in good vintage condition with normal scratches for its age. There is a small ding on the rim about 1" in from the edge. The hall mark or touch mark is almost gone. You can see a number that looks like 182 and below that what appears to be a shape of a triangle or hour glass and possibly letters but it is too worn for me to determine what it says. ~~ Thank you for looking. ~~. Antique 18th Century John Jupe Large Pewter Charge English Signed
Early 18th Century Pewter Charger Old estate find from the home of a collector. This is a nice 18th Century Pewter Piece. It was made by John Jupe(1737-1760) in London. It is marked on the back with a touchmark of a rose with a Fleur-de-lis and IOHN above, IUPE below with curved reserves and a palm frond to either side on the underside of the rim. The secondary mark is a rose with crown, above that it says MADE IN and below it should say LONDON, but the London is hard to make out. There is a quality mark of an X with a crown above that is stamped on the underside of the rim between the two marks. The charger has a hook on the back for hanging. It is in good antique condition with a dark ring mark near the bottom and some tarnish on the left rim and a little rough spot. I have not tried to clean it. UNUSUAL ANTIQUE BRASS OR PEWTER CANDLE STICK HOLDERS W CLAM SHELL BASE
Up for sale is a beautiful pair of antique candlestick holders. I believe t hey are white brass but an old price label on the bottom lists them as pewter. They measure just under 9.5" tall and feature a very unusual clam shell base. Twisted stems and top plate with holes where you can hang prisms if you'd like. Although I love the look of these without. The y maintain an untouched patina. But I think they would polish up a bit if you want them to. There was an old glob of wa x on the top plate and when i removed it a shinier surface was discovered beneath as shown in the last photo. They show a bit of wear. And one of them doesn't sit 100% flat on the base. But overall this is an outstanding pair of antique candlesticks that would compliment any home or collection. They are unmarked. Antique Pewter Spoons (2) 19th Century - Ornate, Soldered, Pressed Royalty
Pair of antique decorative spoons are a bit of a puzzle. Very ornate these spoons are believed to be 19th century. The pewter is pressed. With the handles in the shapes of what appears to be English royalty, a man and a woman, and they bear a striking resemblance to King George III and his Queen Charlotte, but I have not been able to verify this through research. I have found none other like them. There are no crests or similar markings on the back of the bowl on the spoon, but there are a pair of initials as follows: A- K- and there is the number 1750 below the initials. From what I have found, the initials could possibly be the pewterer's mark, but more than likely are the initials of the owners. The number 1750 does not appear to be a date, but probably a catalog number or the like. The handles are soldered to the spoons. The pressed ... morespoons appear to be identical, so they were probably machined and not hand crafted. Spoons are 7 1/2" from top to bottom, and the spoon size is approximately that of a modern day serving spoon. These were inherited, but did not come with the information on origin. There have been two(2) verbal appraisals obtained on these, one in 1982, when they were valued at $75.00 apiece, and one in 2002, where they were valued at $150.00 apiece.

Untitled Document This collection of three vintage German pewter wine beakers vary in size from 4 1/2 inches to 4 7/8 inches in height. And show varying amounts of wear in the silver finishes and a few minor dings in the rims. They are from the late-1800s to early 1900s. The first beaker depicts two men served by a barmaid on one side and a country scene of farm tools and boots in a wheat field. The images are flanked by large cherubs, one holding a wine goblet, the other playing a guitar or lute. The second cup is an all-over wrapping design of leaves and berries. The third design is a classic"Kraft Heil" weightlifting award cup, depicting a body builder and barbells on one side with the words Kraft Heil(Hail Strength) and the old Coat of Arms of the German Empire used until 1918 on the other. The images are flanked by a noble ... moregentleman with a sword holding up a tankard and a lovely maiden. I cannot find any stamps or marks on any of these cups.
